Nice the see the Caponord make a review... usually the Aprillia gets left out. IMO this segment has a slew of fine bikes so we all can find EXACTLY what we want. I think it's a great point you make that these bikes are not for 'Expressway touring'. If I was into laying down the miles on big 4 lane roads I'd be on an Indian or other big cruiser. These bikes are also not for mullholland video making pristine tarmac twisty weekend warriors... for those get an R1, Panigale, or any of a TON of other rockets. These bikes are for real world 2 lane touring... rough roads, potholes, occasional dirt roads... with the occasional expressway when it can't be avoided... and the occasional twisties to remind you why you wanted all that power and handling in your ADV choice. They're INCREDIBLY fun bikes for those of us who tour that way.
Ok... enough reading... I'm going for a ride...

I dunno about that with the XR.. The XR does pretty damn good around the track much better than the other two.

I like the Aprilia Rally version. Its got the beans and turns heads with the stock exhaust. Comes with all the bells and whistles 🏍️🏕️

Great review but you forgot there IS a gorgeous looking Adventure Sport: the MV Agusta Touring Veloce. Even with the panniers fitted it’s a beauty! And it’s very practical - they’ll take a full face helmet each but the overall width is the same as the handlebars. It’s the best of the category for filtering in traffic.

Now, this is a well written text! And well read too. Congratulations!
As for the result: most comparison tests should end like this. There are some objective things; there is a bucket load of subjective ones, and (hopefully) you'll go with the one you love.

I own the s1000xr and vibration have all but gone after break in .Awesome motorcycle !

Hmm, the bike we rode was well and truly run in - had about 6000km on the odometer - so I'm guessing you might have gotten used to the vibes. They certainly aren't intrusive, just a little less relaxing than the twins. How good is the engine in the XR though? We love that motor…

I thought the same thing and I let a friend ride it and when he came back I ask did you notice anything he said no, Then I told him about vibration and let him ride it again and when he came back he said yes I noticed a little vibration but if you never told me about it I would of never notice .

Well, I'll give myself a big slap for liking the appearance of my DVT 1200S. I'm so sorry for making the wrong choice, and I bow to your superior wisdom. Next time I buy a bike I must remember to ask you for my opinion first...

    Hi currently I have a Gs 1200 BMW 2008. I've enjoyed it.
I'm passionate about buying a 1200 Aprilia travel Caponord Pack.
I would like to give me your opinion. its good and bad things as well as their average consumption because nobody lets me clear.
    Thank you

Great review and conclussion, are you guys reviewing the Caponord Rally in the near future? For me it looks like it's the best looking and useable bike. As you said, for long distance touring you need a more relaxing ride without vibes.

We won't do a video review of the Caponord Rally in the near future, although you can read the latest test of the bike here - issuu.com/cycletorque/docs/ctemagjul15

If you were forced to keep one for a year then which one would it be. I think I know the answer.

Forced to keep one for a year? Probably the BMW. But maybe the Ducati: those two offer the best dose of adrenalin. However, if I was going to ride around the country, I'd prefer the Aprilia.

Tested the XR it has the stupid popping and crackling exhaust every BMW seems to have nowadays. Ridiculous.

Last bit of fuel is being ignited at the end of the cycle. NO bike and I mean no bike gets away without doing this unless you richen the A/F ratio. Take off the muffler of all the bikes and you're going to here that all day

These bikes have a more road bias. KTM's closest might be the 1290 Superduke GT or 1050 Adventure.

That's why they built the Multistrada Enduro - we're testing that in a few weeks. None of the bikes in this tests are off-road machines, but they are all fine to ride on good dirt roads. Lots of fun on good dirt roads, in fact.

Cycle Torque My comment was purely on why would anyone in the right mind go out to buy a ducati for travel off the black top. I grew up around ducati's all my life and don't trust them.
