One of the greats. I understand that some people like Art Blakey's work with Monk, but I much prefer Frankie Dunlop's drumming. The band with Dunlop, John Ore and Charlie Rouse had such a great rapport and sound.
i like Dunlop's work with Monk also. he had a way of playing that kept the rhythm alive (especially during those dirge-like tempos that Monk liked to play.)
@@scottkfish4292 I was guessing who played Newport '71 with Mingus it was probably John Foster though. Mingus always had the best pianists. My personal favorite is Mal Waldron.
