Flying V guitars are hard to practice seating down they slide off your leg, mostly made for playing standing up instead!!!
Yep, that's why Metal Dude played it standing up!
Not really. You put your thigh in the crotch of the V. It takes a little getting used to, but its not too big a deal. And its actually closer to the proper classical position of holding a guitar.
@MrEricPymm but in that position the neck wants to fall down and it's more work for yr left hand to sustain the neck up!

This is one I must have! I got a Monsoon recently and I love it. I really like the pointy guitars! This will really fit in with a bunch of the guitars I have in my collection!
I grabbed one! Should be here early next week they shipped it FedEx I have my fingers crossed they don't destroy it! I got the same color combo you reviewed. Reminds me of the Gibson Modern Flying V.
Got mine a few days ago. This guitar is flawless! I looked at it, inspected it, checked the frets with my fret rocker, gave the frets a good inspection they are polished very well. I have to say just like my Monsoon 10 out of 10. I won't hesitate buying another Leo Jaymz I think I'll save a bit and get a Tempest next.

The funny thing is I used to have that wig but it was my real hair and that long , now I'm bald like you. Seriously killer guitar and the weight is perfect!🤘
I like it okay not really a fan of the round cut away in the body think it should be pointed in the center huh not bad though looks like a shredder. It sounds good whatever you're using through it as well. would say from what I see that it's worth what you paid. Good find!!!

Excellent review, the only downside that I could see is that unless you mount it on the wall, it would be difficult to find a hard case for it or a guitar stand due to the shape.
Maybe a Jackson RR case would work. Not sure.

The guitar sounds great. Depending on what state you live in, you may need a permit for that. Could poke an eye out with it.
But seriously, I'm so impressed with my Leo Jaymz Monsoon, I may order the violet Burl. It looks so nice. I really haven't played my Monsoon since I got it. Picked it up a couple of days ago and can't believe how good it plays. Only thing I did was a neck adjustment when I got it. I want to change out the strings to 9-42 D'Addario. According to my caliper, ( if it's correct),they came with 10-46.
I truly believe that with all the budget guitars I have, Leo Jaymz has the best quality.

Not a bad first attempt at a V/Rhoads type guitar from Leo Jaymz. As a V player myself, I think they should move the output jack location to the back or the top fin. A nice tummy cut on the back would also be nice. I just had a custom headless Rhoads style v built and 2 of the main things I asked for were the output on the top fin and a comfort carve. I'm not the biggest fan of the curves on the leo but I see nothing wrong with it. I'll say the inlays are a little on the nose though. Maybe they could come up with their own signature detail or inlay.

Just so you know the black one is white on the back , just the opposite of yours. Mine came broken at the head stock . So much for the foam . Haha
I always had trouble keeping those V shapes in my lap when playing. With it being that light, how bad is the head dive on it? Is it balanced well?
Neck dive for sure!
mine came dysfucntional. no sound when i plugged it in. but I ended up replacing the pickups and the hardware. new strings as well. plays much better. its got neck dive really bad though haha

communicator badge. I'm also not crazy about the rounded head stock, reminiscent of the old Kramers and EVH axes. But all that said, somehow it's still pretty cool, has great specs and sounds awesome. I've always had an affinity for V's, my first was one you never see, an Ibanez ProLine V back in the 80's and recently a Jackson JS32T.
Yea, I've always hated this Kramer hockey stick headstocks. My current favorite V is the ESP/LTD Arrow. Now that's a metal V.

You didn't show it being played sitting down. I know a V is usually hard to play completely flat while sitting, but how does it feel in the Beato position?
I don't like playing Vs sitting down, which is why I let Metal Dude play it standing up.
How does this one balance while standing with a guitar strap?

So I watched this vid. And purchased this guitar, got the same one in this vid leo jaymz swifter. Unfortunately it has something wrong with the electronics, it's humming while just plugged in and makes some "different noises" while playing it. So I'm gonna look into returning it. Big time fail!!! Too spendy for a wall hanger

Leo Jaymz made a Roswell RR Jackson KO. Except, with a better headstock.. I still don't know why these bargain V types, and explorer types (ESPECIALLY WHEN FLAT TOPS) can't just have a HT bridge vs a TOM. You can stil route it so strings go through the body.. SMH. It's not just this company, but S by Solar, Jackson (At least they are getting the idea with the new KV and RR 7 string JS models), Firefly, Westcreek, ETC. I can't believe a Hipshot style bridge is going to upset the price that much, I see knock offs on ebay all the time. I mean hell.. you can even get a cheap crappy Floyd Rose knock off for 25 or less, you can get a knock off Hipshot HT bridge for around 14 or less. if bought in mass, they can't be that expensive with mass orders usually getting discounted. It can't be that great a quality of a TOM bridge. most of these off brands use the same ones that go through the factories that make the Epiphone TOMs, you find they end up on many off brand guitars. They are usable, good for what they are, and what they do, and cheap. Much like an HS HT bridge would be. Excuse the rant, but someone in another video I watched recently on the tube made this point, and I agree with him 100% with the quality of guitar we can get for low cash today... it would be nice to see the such a bridge on more than just strat, and jackson dinky like guitars. that being said.. the guitar looks cool. I like both color schemes. Also, thanks for the video, the content was good. Loved the shred!!! Rock on Metal Dude!

@@thebaldshredder yes , it was ok ed for send back today . I think it was because the top of the head stock is touching the cardboard on my box . So being dropped on the end probably got it . There was no damage on the box . So ?

That was my thought too. But it's actually just a "bad" copy!
It definitely looks very inspired by it. But the Kramertorium has more of an exaggerated fin like shape.
A former band-mate of mine has one. And we always joked that it looks like a kindda squooshed together shark; head, and tail fin in one!
