This is an installation of a Tractor Supply Tool Box being installed on a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500! This is a very reasonably priced toolbox for what you receive and I would highly recommend it to any of you in the market for truck tool boxes!

I bought just like this still new with stickers on marketplace for 100 bucks. Was aluminum which I didn't expect but worth it. Like he said storage and a few tools

I would attach a rectangular box that’s drilled with a hole to the top of the threads on that “Jhook”.
I’d put my socket sets on the one side and other tools 🛠 screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches etc. on the other .
All my frequently “go to” equipment right up top for EZ access.
That’s a great idea! I have my tool bag within reach so that works for me but yes the go to equipment box would be very convenient

I'm also looking into a tool box with generous room under the box for several sheets of 4x8 plywood/OSB. Going to watch your "8 month update" video now. Thanks for the video. I just got the tractor supply compact saddle 63 toolbox and this will be my first time installing one. My f150 came with a toolbox but my frontier didn't. So I'm getting a box for it and toolbox compatible tonneau covers for both. Im going to be installing everything myself so Im trying to figure it out.

Update on the box? Heard good and bad about the Tractor Supply Co ones
It’s holding up well actually. A few things I don’t like about the box are; 1. One of the keys broke while trying to open the box they are pretty thin and cheap, I’ve been spraying WD-40 on the mechanism to keep it lubed every once and a while. 2. If you don’t lock the box sometimes if you hit a big enough bump it’ll pop up and open I’ve had to pull over a few times for that. 3. It’s aluminum which is good and bad. Good is it’s very light and pretty sturdy, bad is it’s not strong enough to withstand a beating, inside it’s starting to dent with heavy tools but it’s still functional. Overall I would recommend for the price

Yes it would. It's only held down by J hooks so anywhere along the bed rails you can mount it

If it doesn´t fit or /and is of poor quality or/and needs to be modified....IT´S AMERICAN MADE. Wake up people! You spend your hard earned money on low quality?! Push your manufacturers to provide standard....or even better high standard. You owe that to yourself!
Other boxes have predrilled holes.. Tractor supply box booo..

What size are the j hooks
You'll need a 13/32" bit to drill the hole and the nut that goes on the thread is 3/8"
