Recognized it the second it started. I remember it bought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it. It's still the way I see NZ police, brothers and sisters in blue.
Remember it well and it's still so very very relevant! It could still be run and it'd make an impact... yeah, and a few giggles about 90's fashion. Thank heavens moustaches haven't come back! Police are still our front line!
I wondered why I never became a cop. Now I know why; this ad made the job seem so damn morose and filled with tragedy it's a wonder any one wanted it. 😅 Thanks for the nostalgia though.
I'm an American, so unfortunately I do not. I also had yet to be born. Wish more ads told people that we all need to be better. The police can only do so much.
NZP have never and still don't routinely carry guns. When I was young in the 90s I well remember the cops carried nothing more than thier notebook and handcuffs.... no pepper spray, baton/ASP, taser, stab vest, nothing of these it really was a different time.

Yes, very moving and thought provoking. I wonder how many went ' on the job' because of it.
put this back on tv , this strikes hard at the nz whanau
Brilliant blast from the past, recognised it from the first couple of seconds
You guys should make a remake to this.

Did you guys carry guns in the 90’s?

Ben, what part of nz are u in.. they all carry now?!
@@mikeross8894 no they don't. Sometimes it's reported that Police are carrying in a specific area, but this isn't permanent.
@@benhoffman1576 at least that is how Batman would set a good example in crime fighting
No I wasn't alive :/
