Can't blame you for sponsored videos when most people have been getting demonitized even before their video was published. Keep doing what you're doing Phillip
At least it's actually relevant to the video, not like many others (Videoblocks is a prime example). Also it's not something overkill and anyone wanting to get into PC gaming without thinking about components can actually like this sponsorship (like myself). And great videos as always from him, 0% disappointment!
Just upload the video as a private video. Let the automated system flag it, and then file your appeal. Once the appeal is successful, you can make it live. The 1000 views in the last 7 days rule only applies to videos that existed before the automated demonetizng thingy was born
Love the fact he remembered to turn off the monitor before peeling the film off the side panel for the sake of continuity. That's 2kliksphilip level of attention to detail.
Anyone else notice at 2:47 he turned off the monitor so when it switched to the pre-recorded removal of the film it was a smooth transition? Attention to detail Philip. I love you.
You only have to watch the video to know that it's much more than an ad. He took the opportunity of a sponsorship and turned it into a video that's interesting and enjoyable in its own right, while thanking Dell for making it all possible. I don't see what's wrong with sponsorships if they're done well, or what irrational view youtube comment section seems to have against them
I was half expecting the comments to be cancer, but they're all basically the same way I feel. This is the best delivered, most entertaining sponsored content I've ever seen. Excellent job, great video :)
Completely forgot about the existence of Crysis 3. Did it even have marketing material? I remember the main sell in the marketing material was the character with a crossbow which to me wasn't exactly the most exciting thing. The poor reception of Crysis 2 probably killed the games PC audience.
I literally bought the inspiron 5675 PC after this video, best piece of marketing EVER! Informative, funny, doesn't stay on the product too long but tells us all about its features, and doesn't try too hard in any aspects, its just like having a chat with someone. Thank you philip, keep it up :)
If he would've left the display on and then grabbed his camera to film the close-up, you would be able to see the cut because something might've changed on the display. By turning the display off, it looks like everything is in one fluid motion.
Yes I noticed this as well. It's so interesting to see how the mind of a TH-cam content-creator works sometimes. My theory is that when watching the footage, he wanted to use the "huh, more film!" clips as some sort of reward and relaxation after information-heavy clips and thus had to come up with a solution for the situation you linked. People always mock TH-camrs for having such an easy job, but in reality, there's quite a lot to be learned if you want to be a good TH-camr.
I absolutely admire Philip for doing it this way. He could have made way more money off of his channels by promoting a lot of products, but instead he waited for opportunities like this. And then he talks about things that he would've talked about anyways, even without the sponsorship. This is how you do it, folks. This is how you sell yourself.
This is how you're meant to do ads. I'm not going to lie and say it feels exactly like your old videos - because it definitely doesn't - but once you get past the main ad at the beginning you get into the flow of the video and it feels normal again. It's a small price to pay for letting you, well, eat.
Except, the advertisement is relevant to the content of the entire video. It flows well with the topics Phillip spoked about and hardly detracted from the experience of watching the video.
MS Word's equation editor can bring even the world's most powerful PCs to their knees. I'm actually surprised they managed to optimize it that poorly. It's almost like they tried to make the people who rely on it suffer. :(

Dell PC looks really nice honestly. No fancy trash, just a nice clean flat design, with features (DVD Drive!) and a light... and the 1060 is perfect for 1080p.
I don't mind these types of sponsors. The video is really interesting and the sponsor actually has a part in it. Wish more youtubers could be like this!
I'd love to rip on you for not finding all the film on your PC at first inspection but I'd be lying to say I hadn't done it before like if I just realized there's film on my 10 year old monitor
Great approach to a sponsored video, no lying or exaggerating, made it very clear that it was sponsored and you actually had some educational stuff to say. There are a few TH-camrs I could name who don't do this. I'm not saying who but I bet the replies will.
Well, I mean, the way he talked about the pc was exaggerated, the gtx 1060 is an entry card so it won't be as good as he made it out to be. Also, you pay a whole lot more for this pc rather than building a better one for the same price
I'm not rewatching the whole video but did he really big up the GTX 1060? He mentioned the Ryzen processor being good which it is and the SSD being fast which it is. Sure you could build a PC for a far less but everyone already knows this and he hasn't said otherwise.
canadiangamer the GTX 1060 really does handle anything you throw at it. We came to a point in time where the graphics cards are way overpowered for the target visual fidelity in games and fluid performance balance. Unless you're running a triple monitor setup each at 4K and expect to get solid 60fps performance. Performance must be judged for base 1080p single monitor setups, not for the 2% of hardcore enthusiasts with their VR headsets and gaming battlestations.
Some authors usually call comments on old videos "necro-comments" and often don't answer them, but anyways) Can you tell how does this Tesselation interactible tech demo is called like?
One method I loved in older games was that the environment had layers. First layer is where the players interact, then the second layer are the big buildings you see up close but don't interact with, then the background models outside on the edge and finally the last background to hide the empty nothingness is a simple texture of a picture surrounding the entire level. The best examples I can think of is from two games I always mention in my comments about best looking games: Rayman franchise and psychonauts. In Ori And The Blind Forest it's hand drawn so it has much more detail and presentation in it's environment while in other 3d games like Ratchet & Clank 1 the entire level is nothing but 3d models. The picture background allows them to draw environments that the logical and normal lighting couldn't do like the clouds with faces in Psychonauts or my favorite is the small details. In Psychonauts at the summer camp, the billboards mention an insane asylum that got closed down and it's the last area of the game before the final showdown of no return. But if you look in the background on the Lodge and Lake part of the summer camp you can see a tower with a blimp looking silhouette. And if you've been at the insane asylum you know that the top of the tower is shaped like a brain so you can see the end from all the way on the other side of the lake in the very starting area and pain hub for the game. Another neat use that I love is in Quake 1 and 2 where in Quake 2 the big buildings are just images but the angle, colors and scale make it looks amazing especially the Big Gun. And in Quake 1 I love the moving clouds having multiple sprites moving at different speeds with the wind sound in the background. I wish more games used depth in their game like the chasms in Rayman 2 or environments like in The Dig and Psychonauts so they could draw these beautiful backgrounds far away with great use of color and shadows
I do like the way you did the advertising in this video. Yes, it was REALLY in your face, but you still fit it naturally in the video. I obviously wouldn't mind if you did more things like this if it meant a better standard of living, no matter how small or large, for a guy who makes a ton of free content. I also liked the video. You fill a philip shaped hole in my heart that no one else can, with a unique style no one else can match. Except for that 3kliksphilip guy but, ugh, he's the worst.
Crysis 2 optimization was so powerful it streamlined the whole game! This video (like always with your videos phillip) aged very well with the unoptimised crap launches of Star Wars, Red fall and TLoU pt1. Not all max graphics hype is all gold. Smart graphic approach is still needed in 2023 to get good graphics with minimal escelation on hardware power. Seeing how the graphics improved compared to crysis 2 (a little) vs the performance needed for new high end titles (A LOT) proves this videos point. But in a backwards way :b
Both surprised and disappointed that Crysis 2 basically looks like a game from last year. Despite it being ancient by gaming standards. Nowadays, you get like 5% better graphics for 50% less framerate.
overpriced, you can build the same system for $1100 or buy it for $1800 , if you do have money to throw around might as well build it yourself anyway and reach the $1800 mark by getting better components, prices in aud btw
Nothing to doubt, maybe in your area the prices are different but I checked and it is rather overpriced. You can check it for yourself, just use a site like pcpartpicker and see how much the same pc would cost if you used the same specs and it ends up a lot cheaper if you build it yourself. Much smarter to just do it on your own but most people these days still fork out 1.5x or 2x the money on the same build and waste lots of money.
Except buying one of these dell prebuilts is actually cheaper than building it yourself. deals.dell.com/productdetail/vda pcpartpicker.com/list/KhhwtJ Edit: One of the extra network adapters is in the place of bluetooth. And the Dell machine comes with McAfee, warranty and customer support.
"Except buying one of these dell prebuilts" ... If you knew how to read you'd know that the PC I was talking about in my original comment was specifically the one advertised in the video, which is completely different from the things you linked and i am unsure as to why you are comparing different computers, is it just so you can try to win an argument online? because you failed you linked a shitty low tier pc with a ryzen 1400 and gtx 560 (lol?) whereas the one in the video had a 1700x and 1060, much better specs and not the same as what you linked... completely missed the ball with that swing!
It's good you have a sponsor that isn't some shitty csgo gambling site Philip. Thanks

Nowadays, you get like 5% better graphics for 50% less framerate.
dell ad:don't just play, game.
me:what?
5 usb slots philip.... type C is still usb :)
"Don't just play, game"
.... alright
Taking off this film was... gorgeous
[CASUALLY BLURS OUT MONITOR MANUFACTURER]
The voice at the start sounded like Bryan Cranston
did they know you're uploading this on 2klik?
I wish Dell would send me a PC
Arbiter Just send them some paper rectangles and you will get your very own PC.
This is a very smart way to do a sponsored video. Good Job!
NIcely balanced advertising sponsored product and original content! Great video
Yeeeeeeeeeah, DVD drives are pretty standard. I can understand for a thin laptop, but there's really no excuse for a desktop not to have one.
my desktop doesn't, but that's because I built it myself on a very tight budget.
I Took mine out, who uses dvds anymore digital market places all the way
Forrteroi the nzxt h440 doesn’t come with a slot at all
Literally no one i know or have talked to have one. They just use flash drives and download shit.
If anything just get a usb dvd drive.
overpriced, you can build the same system for $1100 or buy it for $1800 , if you do have money to throw around might as well build it yourself anyway and reach the $1800 mark by getting better components, prices in aud btw
s1Lence Doubt it
Nothing to doubt, maybe in your area the prices are different but I checked and it is rather overpriced.

Edit: One of the extra network adapters is in the place of bluetooth. And the Dell machine comes with McAfee, warranty and customer support.
"Except buying one of these dell prebuilts"
...
If you knew how to read you'd know that the PC I was talking about in my original comment was specifically the one advertised in the video, which is completely different from the things you linked and i am unsure as to why you are comparing different computers, is it just so you can try to win an argument online? because you failed
you linked a shitty low tier pc with a ryzen 1400 and gtx 560 (lol?) whereas the one in the video had a 1700x and 1060, much better specs and not the same as what you linked...
completely missed the ball with that swing!
also the prebuilt you posted is $674.40 whereas the dell pc you posted is $700 ??????
whats the game with the girl in the red jacket and the snow mountain?
IEMK dude are you joking or what I hope so
thanks philip
