2006-2009 was an amazing few years for indie music. That's when I discovered these guys and so many other amazing bands like Oxford Collapse, the young leaves, Santigold, etc
my dad had this version of this song on an ipod nano that we used on roadtrips for years when I was younger- I’m almost 18 now. they don’t have this version on spotify so I come to youtube just to hear it. thank you yeasayer
The live versions of this song are so much better. The tempo is faster. And you can hear the vocals better. The studio version doesn't really do the song justice.
I used to love these guys back in the day. Sad that I never got to see them live. There seemed to be so many great bands around at that time, I really struggle to find many new bands to listen to these days…
I think they actually messed up with the samples in the beginning, but they rebounded so smoothly that no one would even notice unless they've heard tons of live performances of this song like I have.
This era in music will *hopefully* be studied by later generations

i love how none of them outshines the other. they are all so creative. they fit eachother's sound like a glove and also stand out
Kinda like watching Primus perform.
Agree totally.
This was like re discovering an amazing song... the live version is so different and yet equally beautiful...
I love this track since 2009 or 2010 but have never heard this version

The guitar is so unbelievably good in the live version.

This band,
Blows my mind.
Remember being blown away by this promo. Saw them live in Doornroosje Nijmegen shortly after. Always loved the band. Thanks Yeasayer
This song absolutely slaps live. Saw them in '08 on a tiny college campus in the middle of some cornfields in rural Indiana.

FUNK ME!
There is a random emo kid staring at them through the window...
...and his life was never the same
He stopped being emo and since that day he became a professional dancer
Chris looks a lot like Foster The People's Mark Foster.
Sounds like he's using reverb and delay
@XguitarrockerX Rickenbecker.
This video is from before they knew how to write music.
Its sounds terrible. I love the song but had to lower my volume listening to this
It sounds more 60s. I like it!
