Tough break but fun to watch!
Thanks! It's more bearable knowing that most of my issues were my own fault. I'll make sure to brush up on my rules more for next time!
I like the way you set up the camera for this. Its a great way to see the tourney game and not have to remember to take pictures.
Thanks. Nice when there's space for it haha.
Slaan needs Temple Guard
Next time I'll try some. He should have been fine being ethereal and all, my poor rolls are really why he was killed. There was nothing else in the beastmen army that could even do wounds to him.
@@BattleBondMiniatures0 with temple guard you can tarpit a Dragon, just issue a challenge every turn and shieldwall
Yeah, I definitely want to try them the next time I use the lizardmen.
@@simoneengelleitner947 Shield wall is once per game.
Great battle report, very easy to follow and good camera shots.
Thanks, glad you liked it. It's always tough to say when trying something new if it'll work well or not.
Turn 1 loss effectively, harsh...Post FAQ it is very brave running your Slann without TG and then deploying him in plain sight to the opponent. Unfortunately the changes to the Slann was so brutal, we now have to take Saurus and TG tax for an already expensive, but very ordinary lvl4 wizard. on a side note, I always run only jav+shield on all my skinks. Just the best by far. Better luck next time.
Yeah, but it's my fault for not being as familiar with the rules as I should have been.
The Slann being ethereal meant that literally the only thing in my opponents army that could do wounds to him was the shaman. I figured I'd at least be able to try to dispel to stop it. I definitely want to try out temple guard next time.
You're right about the skinks. Jav+shield is so good, and will be my go to loadout for them from now on.
I think you made a pretty costly mistake. The Carnosaur and Stegadon should have made Fall Back in Good Order and not a Flee since they were not below 50% starting models. They could have probably charged on the next turn.
You are absolutely correct. I totally forgot it was a FBIGO vs an actual flee. But to be fair, not remembering cold blooded was the bigger and more costly mistake by leaps and bounds haha.
@@BattleBondMiniatures0 to add to that, the Stegadon is Immune to Psychology, so it does not take any panic tests
That's what happens when trying out a new army. I think forgetting rules is a mainstay in Warhammer lol 😂
Also rough game! I would not gave expected lizardmen to run so much with cold blood.
Yeah, my fault in that one. I did not forget the next 2 games lol.
@@BattleBondMiniatures0 that makes way more sense. I look forward to the next ones.
Try one page rule regiments. It's not turn based,, so you can't get stomped the first round. And the TREX SLAPS.
It's definitely on the list to try. OPR firefight has been really fun to play, so I can't see why regiments wouldn't be the same!
Also, to be fair, if I would have remembered the rules properly (cold blooded and the carnasaur and stegadon only falling back in good order as opposed to full on fleeing) I could have potentially clawed my way back.
What? What sort of recommendation is this? 🤦 reckon you can just apply what ever rules you want at a tournament? 😳🤦
