He wasn’t furious about being cut out. He was mad about not being told and going to the first press junkets thinking he was the lead. But just spread anything you think
@@portland9880 I think in this case he wanted to make story B based on story A. To get funding and approval he says he is going to do story A but he will edit it into story B. But to keep up the deception he has to make everyone work on story A until his story B is finished, or he just changes his mind a lot idk.
I think it is one of the best if not The Best War / Spiritual films ever made. Certainly there are other great works but this one shines in a very unique way. Ohhhh that is tooooo messed up!!! He should be able to sue. He agreed to the script as it was presented. He could have says no to it and gotten a better script somewhere. That is jacked !!! Yo let’s find Jim in the parking lot yall !! 😅😂. // Looking at Jim and Adrien was the only reason I watched the freaking movie 🤣
He agreed to play a part and be paid an agreed amount. He did all his scenes, but Malick decided to change direction in editing. Adrien was paid despite barely any of his scenes being used.
Ok so if only excuse this because it was very early in his career before being at the top. It’s still really messed up because he chose to accept what was presented as the main character. It’s not ok that he just got paid. They make actors sign to so much I’m sure but making a drastic change like that should be addressed with the actor and their agent before it finalized in editing.
Terry Malick's films may be acclaimed but his working methods with the cast and the crew can be appalling. Though in this case, Thin Red Line was mediocre at best. Too much philosophy in it, too much cameo characters, too much close ups on actors faces.
@@m1lst3r89 lol it’s HILARIOUS that you said SPR ….. that’s the go-to war film that every low IQ Jerry Bruckheimer explosion loving jabroni defers to. It’s okay, not everyone is intelligent enough to grasp the Thin Red Line.
There's supposed to be a 5 hour workprint version somewhere which has different actors as the main characters.
I’d pay $1000 to see it in a theater.
This film was Jim’s place to shine. 😊

I mean, if you do 10 retakes of 100 lines and then in the final cut you only have 2 lines... What did you do all that effort for?
Because thats your role. Sorry but if you want to control the edit, be the director.

Mickey Rourke filmed a scene, he played a shell-shocked sniper... wish they kept it
The Thin Red Line is a masterpiece and Brody should be proud to have been part of it. Art should supercede politics.
to be fair to him, he should have been told what his role is supposed to be and not let him thinking he is the lead when he wasnt.

One of the best movies ever made.
Focusing of Witt was the right decision.
The movie was so completely different than the book you would have thought that they weren't in any way related.
the movie originally as shot was closer to the novel supposedly.
1 who gives a fuck
2 Penn has a good relationship with Malick
3 almost every movie ever made came out different from the script.
Not if you ask Kubrick or Hitchcock.
John C. Reilly and Clooney were also done dirty😂
Have you seen the movie? Like what the fuck are you talking about

A true sham to the author . Rip off greedy . Personal biased to influence people. Right movie budget was there.
