Terrence Malick latest movies feel like a cascade of memories you have when you smell, see or listen to something you haven’t in a long time, very unique
Terrence Malick movies are very psychedelic type films, (not regular mindstate) which is why regular viewers DONT GET the directors vision. I myself happen to appreciate his works of art because my mind is open to the experience he is trying to portray.
Exactly, i love Knight of Cups specially because the first time watching I was so fried out my mind on drugs that I thought it was a 3D movie and that was a one of a kind experience
I dunno about that. There's literally like four published photos of him. Many people have seen his movies, but I'd bet most of them couldn't pick him out of a lineup.
Knight of Cups is a profound film that not everyone understands. The actors shouldn't try to always understand the director's mind because it will always be bigger than a single role. This guy just looks bad criticizing one of the best WRITER/Directors of our days. Time will prove wrong all of Terrence Malick's detractors.
@@atorresk22 Tbf I don't think it was critical, he sounds kind of impressed by Malick if anything. I agree completely with your other points though - Knight of Cups is criminally overlooked

Love Thomas Lennon! He's a genius at what he does! But I agree with you Tom, he should not have taken a video of you and your wife, that' an invasion of privacy.
Art doesn't ask for permission, it's about understanding the reality around us. I studied documentary photography and had a hard time understanding that myself, but it's about the boundary between exploitation and honesty.
There's a thin red line between deep and pte pretentious. There's amazing gorgeous films that are complex and great to look at. Some are incomprehensible on an esoteric level. But Malick is a filmmaker too involved in his own mind and too set on creating an amazing image while ignoring the fundamentals. It's the epitome of being beautiful on the surface with nothing underneath. Anything underneath is truly in the directors mind and his alone.
then explain why all of his work is so beautiful? he’s a visionary with a singular idea of how his films are meant to be. all the greats are like this. him and kubrick are similar in this
I think "Badlands", "Days of Heaven" and "The Thin Red Line" are basically masterworks that have very big things to say, or at least very big questions to ask.

"cascade of memories" love this expression and totally accurate.
Thomas Lennon: *Fight with wife
Malick: "Letsgo baby, cinema comin"
Thomas Lennon is woefully underemployed. I can see a movie where he plays James Spader's younger brother.
dude has 192 acting credits on imdb, lol wtf you talking about woefully undereployed? 🤣😂🤣😂
Cool how he was also Bruce Wayne's doctor in The Dark Knight Rises (and before that in Nolan's Memento).
And the chief of police in Reno
FUCK, I want this deleted scene now. *I MUST HAVE IIIIITTTTTTT!!!*

@@Somereasonstolive my man 💪🏼🤣 my favorite Terrence film is the tree of life though. All time favorite will be Gaspar Noe’s Enter The Void Though 🔥
Yes. You are a ver Open mind and sharp individual
@@adrianmtz8947 thank you, so are you 💪🏼
Malick strikes me as Kubrick if he didn't mind to light up every now and again.
I think Malick would drive Kubrick completely insane. Or he would just be awestruck by Malick's near refusal to control anything.
If you are an actor in Hollywood and you don’t know who Terrence Malik is, you got major major problems

Yes! His movies are meditations, he tries to ask through his movies rather than just state.
How is he criticizing him?
@@HenryItzNiine Well...I guess I got that impression from the way they're talking about the whole process of that particular day/scene.

SimtekGroup I understand that but art shouldn’t matter when it’s people in a private setting.
@@rokaanalzeer I think that's the only time art can matter or mean anything is when it's capturing us at are most private.

Night of Cups has barely no dialogue.
Jesus, maybe you guys want to take the watch new episodes part off the end yikes
