Jingles, I propose a challenge. You must, in a platoon of 3 TOG's position you tanks in a triangle and "capture" an enemy tank. You then must let "who ever can be bothered" kill you. This will then trap the enemy tank in the ultimate troll. (P.s. the tank you capture must not be killed (unless the game is won, obviously). Now i realise pulling this of will be nigh impossible, hence why it is called a challenge and the ultimate troll. Everybody that would like to see this happen please like so jingles is more likely to see this. On a side note, ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY JINGLES!!

For those who are interested in getting a TOG 2, heres some pros and cons about the tank. Pros: A deadly fast reload 17pdr gun. Good gun depression. Decent turret armour. A 1400 health pool. Its unusual design that provides jokes and respect from your team. Cons: It has okay armour but its unsloped and easy to hit. It cannot hide, due to its size. Very slow, even when going down hill. (It weighs 80 tons buy at least you cant get rammed) Its tracks are exposed completely at the front and back, and are easy targets. An easy target for artillery, again refering to size and low speed.
Yep, TOG is fun! Bought it hrs before rental was up. Use it like a valentine and keep moving, save for bush-sniping. The most open secret tactic for this beast, is reverse hulling into target area. I do it all the time. Creates quite a fire wall if you angle the back end, and hides those two massive barn doors to the very end! Actually had a Black Prince cower away on the right path at Abbey, when he saw me do this an hr ago. Carried the game at Lakeville last night, approaching from the North into the city, and captured the flag until support arrived. Slow and steady won that race! Anyway, carry on with the usual platoon steel walling, corner/bush-sniping, road denial, and decoy running.
Thanks for nailing the best reason for getting a TOG - for the lulz. One suggestion though; I've found that a Binocular Telescope is well worth mounting on the TOG. One problem with trundling relentlessly forward is that you sometimes reach a point where you come under heavy fire from enemies you can't yet see. Carrying on going forward or going backwards are pointless since you'll die either way, but with the Binocs, you can stop, those enemies become visible and you can shoot back.
This is my favorite HT to play. Tog is actually a defensive juggernaut, as you can reverse side scrape as it's a frontally mounted gun & has sloped rear armor.
I love my Tog II. It's slow as hell, but man, I can't tell you how many times I've gotten the most kills, Top Gun, Sniper....fire for effect....just a barrel of fun. As you say, the KV2 and TOG are the two most fun tanks. I call it my "Tissue Tank". I generally wait a few min to see how the battle is going and then trundle out to meet the enemy. You can also park it right in front of the artillery and blast any light tanks that come ripping thru to spot the arties.
+QuantumRift On "Lakeville" I sometimes deliberately park it across the lakeside road where tanks thinking they can get past me wind up either diving into the lake or getting stuck on one of the little tank trap ledges along the side of the lake. While I'm alive, its fun to position myself near the middle of the lakeside road (by the big rock) and shoot at the 0-I's and 0-Ho's trying to control the center of the town. TOG's are fun!
HMS Liferaft. It's slow, it's flat, it's unarmoured, it houses a crew of 6, it might as well be bright orange, it's nearly "unsinkable" you're always happy to have one, and everyone's happy that your team's got one because it'll be the last tank standing and everyone will come to you.
On Saturday (Friday for the USA) I encountered a very low health TOG II in my KV-1S and decided "I'll ram him to death as he has pretty much no health." The match was standard battle on steppes on Xbox. With slight tactical miscalculation on my part, I died; from half health to zero. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Thank you TOG for making my Saturday afternoon!!
Correction on one thing the TOG2 didn't have the a30 challenger turret installed its the other way around the challenger's turret was based on the TOG's (TOG2 was the first tank with 17pdr installed)

I have had a full health light tank ram my tog II at full speed and kill its self on me by doing that. Ramming is officially a bad idea when you are doing it to a tog.
Protip, drive the TOG backwards into battle. You'll go even slower, but the back is well angled if you can hide the lower parts. 50mm of armor at a 60 degree angle is pretty good at those tiers.
great gun, great MM, great sidescraping potential. some maps are going to suck more than others for it (non-urban maps) but once you've got enemies looking down at you from a narrow alley and they can only see the front silhouette of your TOG, you're on the same footing as any other heavy. except you've got 1400hp.

I genuinely don't wish to be argumentative about this, but I know that he has spoken fondly of the U.S. Heavy line (T29, T32, M103 primarily) and they are all similar to the British line in terms of armor AND mobility, so I was drawing my thought from that. (Jingles had a LOT of fun in these tanks in his review videos of them). Here is an example: M103: 34 kph, faster traverse, slower turret traverse than Conquerer (it's speed:34.4 kph). I see the lines as different but similar (vs. Russian etc)
Jingles - I know that among your MANY, MANY subscribers I am just another drop in the bucket (which I genuinely don't mind, you deserve MANY subscribers), but I have to ask: Why NOT another British Heavy tank? I know my reasons for enjoying them, and would love to know why you wouldn't want to work toward the Caernarvon, Conquerer, or FV215b?

One tip when entering combat in the TOG 2, use it in reverse then the angled rear armor adds up to 149mm of effective armor. I have got soo many bounces from using it in reverse (do not keep it in reverse after combat otherwise you will only go 7km/h lol)
If I may make it noted, if a Tog is at low enough health (11%-25%) a Hetzer can kill it from the front if using the 10.5cm cannon and High-Explosive rounds. I did it a month ago and flipped out because I didn't know I could pull it off.
I was referring to how it has the same-ish gun of the Churchill 3 but almost as slow as the TOG. Realistically, its a Matilda with a new gun and Cromwell turret.
I don't care if this thing is an obsolete wreck of a tank, I love it to death. I just love the way it looks, what with the low body and the massive treads. It just looks good in my mind.
I bought one during the 2nd anniversary event, outfitted it and holy crap its just fun... Also Jingles, On the crew thing, the only problem with the TOG is that it DOES have 6 crew slots and none of the British heavies have 6 crew... The Church I till Black Prince have 5 and the Caern and up have 4... Also none have 2 loaders.. I mix the crew from my BP and Caern to crew it but its something to be aware of.. You might need to buy a crewmate or two for it
I've seen people angle the TOG across a bridge, and when it dies no one can get past because the carcass is so enormous. Won us the game in an Assault on Erlenberg because the heavies on the other side of the Tog carcass couldn't get past (we were all laughing in chat). It's pretty good at sidescraping, and there's also reverse hull down driving as a recommended driving practice (TH-cam it).
Ah, the "jump in front of the bullet" moment. I did that once as part of a Cromwell pack when my platoonmate hit a rock while circling some heavies. Didn't even have to stop, the heavy fired his otherwise killing blow at exactly the right moment for me. :P
Yeah. More wonderful TOG videos. I love that tank, and when I am against it, I respect it very much, whether alone, or in a platoon. Doesn't stop me from slaying yet another TOG though. Just don't linger around in front of his/her/their guns. But, if you are dumb enough to do that, then at least the suffering will be over quickly.
I'd disagree about never stopping the TOG. The TOG is a good tank for defending with in my experience. Set up on a hill somewhere and you can chew up anything you see.
Loved the review Jingles but you're wrong about angling it, this thing if angled and 'side scraping' is actually oddly bouncy if someone is aiming at your big long side, I love mine personally, its got a lot of character.
If the tank had armor, it might be a dangerous enemy. But it isn't, as soon as you get spotted a sniper can rip through all your HP fast, did that with Vk36 to stronger tanks than TOG. Mention this aspect too, not just the good things about it.
I have an SU-100Y, it's a WONDERFUL TD. I'd say the SU-100Y if you're looking for lots of damage, fair hit points, and fun. but I've never tried the TOG, so I'm not gonna judge it, until I try it that is.

The way you describe the TOG reminds me of the French D1..... very similar effects. I've loved my D1 about time to go to the next tier with it.

Actually Jingles, I did find that the TOG is awesome for sniping and a binocular telescope makes it work even better.

I genuinely don't wish to be argumentative about this, but I know that he has spoken fondly of the U.S. Heavy line (T29, T32, M103 primarily) and they are all similar to the British line in terms of armor AND mobility, so I was drawing my thought from that. (Jingles had a LOT of fun in these tanks in his review videos of them). Here is an example: M103: 34 kph, faster traverse, slower turret traverse than Conquerer (it's speed:34.4 kph). I see the lines as different but similar (vs. Russian etc)

Jingles - I know that among your MANY, MANY subscribers I am just another drop in the bucket (which I genuinely don't mind, you deserve MANY subscribers), but I have to ask: Why NOT another British Heavy tank? I know my reasons for enjoying them, and would love to know why you wouldn't want to work toward the Caernarvon, Conquerer, or FV215b?

always watch your videos before i research or buy a tank, good knowing what im getting into, but never thought to sub, so here you go, subbed :)
One tip when entering combat in the TOG 2, use it in reverse then the angled rear armor adds up to 149mm of effective armor. I have got soo many bounces from using it in reverse (do not keep it in reverse after combat otherwise you will only go 7km/h lol)
I've made sure to buy Jingles a Christmas present for the moment when he finally arrives back in the garage with his TOG.
On your advice, a friend and I both bought TOG II's...We haven't laughed this hard in a long time. LOVE THIS TANK!!! Thank you Jingles. :)
If I may make it noted, if a Tog is at low enough health (11%-25%) a Hetzer can kill it from the front if using the 10.5cm cannon and High-Explosive rounds. I did it a month ago and flipped out because I didn't know I could pull it off.
I was referring to how it has the same-ish gun of the Churchill 3 but almost as slow as the TOG. Realistically, its a Matilda with a new gun and Cromwell turret.
I don't care if this thing is an obsolete wreck of a tank, I love it to death. I just love the way it looks, what with the low body and the massive treads. It just looks good in my mind.

I bought one during the 2nd anniversary event, outfitted it and holy crap its just fun... Also Jingles, On the crew thing, the only problem with the TOG is that it DOES have 6 crew slots and none of the British heavies have 6 crew... The Church I till Black Prince have 5 and the Caern and up have 4... Also none have 2 loaders.. I mix the crew from my BP and Caern to crew it but its something to be aware of.. You might need to buy a crewmate or two for it
I've seen people angle the TOG across a bridge, and when it dies no one can get past because the carcass is so enormous. Won us the game in an Assault on Erlenberg because the heavies on the other side of the Tog carcass couldn't get past (we were all laughing in chat). It's pretty good at sidescraping, and there's also reverse hull down driving as a recommended driving practice (TH-cam it).
Ah, the "jump in front of the bullet" moment. I did that once as part of a Cromwell pack when my platoonmate hit a rock while circling some heavies. Didn't even have to stop, the heavy fired his otherwise killing blow at exactly the right moment for me. :P

Yeah. More wonderful TOG videos. I love that tank, and when I am against it, I respect it very much, whether alone, or in a platoon.
Doesn't stop me from slaying yet another TOG though. Just don't linger around in front of his/her/their guns. But, if you are dumb enough to do that, then at least the suffering will be over quickly.
I'd disagree about never stopping the TOG. The TOG is a good tank for defending with in my experience. Set up on a hill somewhere and you can chew up anything you see.
I can see that thing comeing outa the sea and a bunch of marines hopping out just because of the look of the TOG II
My best TOG moment... earning mastery and the patrol duty award in a tier VII game on Malinovka... and surviving! TOG is versatile. TOG can scout!
Loved the review Jingles but you're wrong about angling it, this thing if angled and 'side scraping' is actually oddly bouncy if someone is aiming at your big long side, I love mine personally, its got a lot of character.
If the tank had armor, it might be a dangerous enemy. But it isn't, as soon as you get spotted a sniper can rip through all your HP fast, did that with Vk36 to stronger tanks than TOG. Mention this aspect too, not just the good things about it.
I have an SU-100Y, it's a WONDERFUL TD. I'd say the SU-100Y if you're looking for lots of damage, fair hit points, and fun. but I've never tried the TOG, so I'm not gonna judge it, until I try it that is.
