Thank you for your support. This is a compilation of what is considered the "original" lore and wraps up the arcs of Warcraft 3 nicely, through TBC and Wrath. I guess we can also consider Legion the true ending. The more the merrier, feel free to recommend with those who'd like to catch up with the story or relive the nostalgia!

Thanks for your support! Can recount all the memories we've made throughout the various expansion time periods of this franchise, and it's been a marvelous journey. I'm still partial to the "original lore" which I believe is from Warcraft 3 and TBC/Wrath which I believe was meant to be Warcraft 4 (along with Legion). It truly is the greatest game ever made due to the incredible creativity & design by the developers & writers of that bygone era, with iconic character moments, cinematics, voice acting and music. May Warcraft have a bright future and one day hit the the big screen as a trilogy~!

The storytelling of Warcraft 3 is utterly insane... a true masterpiece. I think that's how they were able to effortlessly coast through Classic, BC, and Wrath. Only with Cataclysm were they forced to start inventing new material and it surely did not go well.

As I watched i couldnt help but to picture how easy it would be to fill in some gaps with little interactions with characters, and turned into a show.
They need to pull a Peter Jackson and stay true to the source though. I'd make it mandatory for animators to watch this, and recreate these shots almost exactly.
The in-between would be shots of the actual journey to get there, giving fan service with good renders of the zones and some references. Maybe lingering in some places longer for exposition (as long as it wasnt too heavy handed)

the Alternative/Additional Campaign in Frozen Throne expansion with Rexxar doing all kinds of quests in Durotar was the original World of Warcraft
you start to level up, you have access to a big chunk of Durotar and you do all this as the construction of Orgrimmar is going on, you do many different quests while the main quest line is the quests you get from Thrall and you get different items while leveling up, this is where they came up with the idea of World of Warcraft as an MMORPG.

@@Athelarius they should have just made all the movies about Arthas and Illidan. The two most beloved characters and we saw neither on the big screen. The movie we got was great but it wasn’t their strongest story. Imagine a trilogy called Frostmourne and the films are 1: The Rise of the Lich King, Part 2: The Might of the Scourge(or The Curse of the Blade), Part 3: The Frozen Throne. Part 1 starts in the stables with Invincible and ends when Arthas gets Frostmourne and abandons his men to head off into the snowy wastes of Northrend. Part 2 he comes home, raises an army and marches on the elves and dalaran. He starts to lose control and must fight his way to escape back to Northrend. Part 2 ends when he puts on the helm of domination and takes his seat on the throne. Part 3 is all about Tirion reforging the Order of the Knights of the Silver Hand and recruiting new members for the expedition as well as the ebon blade in order to stop Arthas. Ends the same as the end of raid cinematic for ICC but gives a bit more detail thereafter regarding the world and how it is returning to normal. Final scene is the Sargaras watching in the distance through an orb that resembles Azeroth

Hurts more when you realize the Arthas storyline was the major reason Warcraft 3 is remembered so fondly. All the way till Wrath, which I guess we can consider Warcraft 4 (Wrath, TBC and maybe Legion). Illidan was also quite popular from Warcraft 3 and he at least got a better ending with Legion after TBC. Poor Kael’thas though.

It's just a new wave of "game design majors" kids that have no love or loyalty to the franchise, and do the hip new trend of "subversion" without having an inkling on what they're doing. This is when the unworthy is given the role to something they have little care or passion for.
      It's practically non-canon.

The sad thing about Arthas is though that there is not much to redeem. He made the choices he made willingly and freely like Garrosh also did. Whereas Illidan and Sylvanas were forced.

Hmmm I probably wouldn't buy I guess because it'd be created just for the hype, its exploitation, and in the end, money (remember, this is part of the marketing mentality of shallowness and selfishness that is killing the actual world btw, and not just the music or gaming industry, and it's actually rewarded because ppl use their brains so much; so much that we "all" wanna pretend we still live in the 90s, on average -could be 80s or 00s- and we don't owe ourselves and the world real fights, not with swords or guns, but first of all with mental resistance and willingness to truly understand where our problems truly lie plus each other's (+our own personal) issues, and learn from and improve and support each other instead of always belittling everyone and only fulfilling selfish goals, accepting the constant promotion of "winning" and domination and effectiveness no matter how, and hypocritically parroting quotes n stuff online or irl to sound cool, while not giving fks in reality, because that's how you are judged as healthy according to the majority of ppl out there (meanwhile, they do care too much about certain topics to the point they're blinded and hateful, and even try to dictate how you should live and die, and remember "democracy", one of the most raped words in the last years, only when they can exploit it to their and their friends' advantage, and otherwise dismiss any opinion, logical argument or fair point that doesn't suit their egoistic view and presents an obstacle to their plans), to the sht that's thrown at us constantly so innocently but we let them slide and slowly shape our taste to some degree, our humor, our beliefs and ultimately, core, our standards/priorities, plus the pure fanaticism masked as values and honor and patriotism, or the impression that trolling and/or exploiting everyone makes you smart, or that welcoming your impending doom is fine and trendy and you can just tell yourself "if you can't avoid something you should enjoy it", and so on, lol, I could easily continue), I just miss my old RTSs, WC 2-3 and warlords battlecry 2-3.
And I bet if I ever find the time for a second/third game again I'll be able to revisit these series, and not feel forced to buy a supposedly shiny but most likely empty shell of what really good RTSs used to be, with new flashy 257k HD graphics and models that may easily have less detail and lack the brilliant simplicity and depth/atmosphere the 20 or 30 year old games had.
I don't wanna say it's our generation and how we don't love our work (I am lazy too) but maybe our parents were indeed more capable, more active and determined, or it's the new technology that (usually if not always, to me) feels more fake despite the improved technical stuff. Dunno. Or the companies don't treat their staff how they should, like we've heard b4, and ...guess what, mainly try to exploit their work while some "smarties" are sitting all day seeing their bank accounts get more zeros... Hey, mine has one too, everyone's got something in this beautiful system. And if I'd just be an orc in that mine in shadowmoon valley's corner (WORK IS DA 💩) I'd have all the zeros in the world of Casheroth.
p.s. I'm aware I threw in some generalizations that may be interpreted weirdly but hopefully some can guess what I really meant xD if anyone bothers to read this, which is doubtful and maybe it's for the best, if I'm not making sense at all. Imma finally go to bed now /yawn
