I was at Teppan Edo with my wife and son on Monday and while waiting to be seated, I thought I recognized Leslie, but couldn't figure out from where. As soon as we were seated it came to me and I showed my family and told them that your review of Space 220 was the reason we booked Teppan Edo. We thought it was awesome and my son loved his first hibatchi experience. Thank you for discouraging us from Space 220. I would've loved to thank you in person, but you were seated only about 5 minutes after us at around 6:30, and we didn't want to bother you. Thanks again and keep up the awesome videos!
It used to be so much better pre covid. More friendly and authentic Japanese Hosts. They used to served chicken fried rice which was AMAZING!. They also removed the tempura add on. Sadly, it has gone the less for more route. I used to love it, but greed ruins everything.
Hi Dan & Leslie!! Our family of 10 dined at Teppan Edo several years ago when we were on the FREE DDP!! The experience was fine but I agree, our hometown Hibachi restaurants are so much better. Thanks again for all your wonderful reviews!!
This was fun and a great introduction into this style of Japanese cuisine, Thank you! I'll be checking out a Hibachi style restaurant the next time I'm in Sydney.
We love this restaurant it’s so fun. We went for hubbys 50th and then for mine(we’ve been several other times as well) and they sang to us and gave us the big tall chefs hats to wear 😂
Great review as always. Love the format. I know you’re getting close to finishing your seated restaurant list, so are you thinking of doing a “Best Of” video to give the best for each cuisine type, best romantic restaurant, and so on?
Good idea! We will definitely do some videos like that, but also looking forward to Disney quick service, brunches, and mixing in Universal restaurants as well.
The last time we ate there it was a horrible experience !!! By the time our food was all cooked some of the food we had was cold. The service was so very bad it was probably the worst tip we have ever left.
Dan & Leslie, I really liked your assessment. Its really weird how Epcot has real authentic Japanese doing totally non authentic Japanese dining at Teppan Edo. During the 17 years I lived in Japan, there never was anything like this 'benihana' style restaurant. The only teppan restaurants I've been to did nothing fancy but serve up amazing Kobe beef. I wonder how the servers feel doing something totally unnatural to them. I think Disney will see way more success in the Shiki-sai restaurant which looks absolutely authentic to me.
@@AddictedtotheMouse I just love your reviews! Hope this helps testify that your reviews are good and even you may not know the full cultural background, you both can see a great service, food quality, ambiance/theming and drinks! I'm now a believer in the Dan and Leslie method :)
Hi! I was just wondering, do they throw food (pieces of broccoli, for instance) to have you try to catch in your mouth? Or pour saki into your mouth? My local hibachi restaurants do that and I hate it! Would like to visit teppan edo, assuming they don't do those types of things. TIA!
That's interesting that other hibachis you guy have been to have not been separated into separate rooms. I don't think that I've ever been to one that hasn't had them separated into separate rooms with one or two grill stations per room. I agree that it is kind of loud, but I think I had more trouble understanding the servers there due to the language barrier/accents, which I'm sure was made worse by the volume. I do like the food because it had good flavor, but I am not a vegetable eater (I'd probably give your Jennings a run for his money on pickiness), and I didn't like how they mixed the vegetables in with the noodles (at least they did when we went). I will say that the cook we had the last time we went before the pandemic the cook was amazing and her English was much better than the servers and the hostesses and she talked to us and told us about her life and family in Japan the whole time she was cooking. It was very interesting.
BOOMER SOONER! Sorry there was so much OK mentioned this episode I had to say it. I lived in Moore for many years and I’m in Naples now. First game next week!
i am bringing my wife to the Disney Parks in the next few weeks I am looking for unique places to eat and this was recommended by a few friends. I am so happy I saw your review i know this would not be a great fit. Loud and crowded are two things she is not a fan of

Glad you all loved it! Appreciate the sentiment, but please say hi next time, we would love to meet you. Love the Sox btw!

Will you be going to the new Japanese restaurant soon? Shiki Sai
Yes!

They definitely don’t pour sake in your mouth. Our chef did not toss any food. Not sure if other. Chefs do, but my guess is no

Hope you have a great trip!
The nine dragons is a must! We can't miss it anytime we go to epcot.
I need to know why so noisy, only dissapointed meal at Epcot. Felt like restaurant for corporate outings , not a family experience.
Yeah, that’s pretty accurate
