Honestly? The best brush paint finish i ever seen on YT! No brush strokes at all and stunning final result, amazing. I can't use an airbrush for healty issue and space, cause of this i wanna enjoy this hobby with the brush paint still. 99% of people say the same thing "oh man, but an airbrush, you can't achieve good results with brushes" and i hate this statement cause is not true. Sure, it's much more tedious but, if you enjoy this hobby, just take your time and that's it.
Hey Sam, What are your feelings on the Vallejo varnishes? I've been trying them for Gundams. I don't think I've gotten them to work for me. If I brush them, I can see the brush strokes. If I airbrush them, I have to put the on so very thin that I don't know if it's any better then hitting the model with a rattle can of clear. Thoughts?
I don't use them often, and only for specific reasons like the one in this video. My main issue with them is that they can take a long time to dry when airbrushing. I sprayed on the matt varnish on my Galactica model and it felt slightly tacky for days. Apart from that I don't usually have too many problems with them. When brush painting I lay down multiple thin coats to reduce the brush strokes. But yes I prefer to use Tamiya spay cans for flat and gloss varnish, they've always worked the best for me.
@@modelchili It sure has. Especially since i started modelbuilding myself thanks to you. I have the NX 01 and 02 standing next to each other and my second ship is something i am really proud of. So thanks for that. If my 1000 scale Enterprise C is ever ready for print you can have one for sure :D
I wanted to say thanks, I watched your Star Destroyer video and now I'm going to try and paint one myself! I'm glad brush painting can look so good, I was nervous to try it out without an airbrush. Is there a particular brush set that you would recommend?

As a sole brush painter who doesn’t own an airbrush. I appreciate it immensely that you painted the model without an airbrush. Absolute mad lad. :-)
I really enjoy building and painting kits without messing around with the airbrush. It might take a bit longer but it's quite relaxing.

Just lovely. Do you thin your Vallejo Model Air paints when airbrushing? If so with what please?
Thanks! No I don't.

This looks beyond awesome. Was just watching some of your videos when this came out and it's great to see you back.
Thank you! It's been a busy year.

Looks great!, will this draw you back in to armor modelling?
Thanks! Yeah maybe for the smaller brands. I don't really have room for big 1/35 scale tanks these days.
Chili Willy another great model from you, I thought it was 1/35 at the start!!
Cheers!
Very cool build, I haven’t built a tank yet but some day I will
Thanks, you should!

Thank you! I don't even notice the brands of brushes I use. I just usually buy cheap nice looking ones from my local art store.
