This was great. Vishal had a great conversation on the Will Spencer podcast a couple of weeks ago people should really check out. But also, I'd be interested in listening/watching the talks from this conference if that's possible. Blessings.
I like that it low key turned into a debate on presup v natural law. Important discussion indeed. But I think John West and Dr V were approaching it from different perspectives. Dr V was talking about the outworking of Christianity in Western Culture which is historically unique and product of the Bible and Mr West was talking about the jettisoning of natural theology by fundamentalist conservatives. We need the category for natural revelation and also the recognition that the world today that the Bible has built cannot have any other foundation.
Loved this❤ I wish we could dig into the general revelation vs special revelation issue a bit more. Both sides made good arguments. I lean toward Vishal though. Discovery institute still holds to theistic evolution because of these presuppositions.
Very good conversation. I do think that John West and Vishal may have been employing general revlelation in slightly different ways that caused them to think they were disagreeing more than they actually were.
It is both self evident yet suppressed. The suppression is the reason for the lawlessness. Sinfulness and lawlessness are synonymous. We have to think bigger. Why? Precisely because Christ did. Yes, human reason can prove God. Yet, likely the only human capable of welding reason ably is the Redeemer.
Amazing history!

Thank you so much! This was excellent!!!
Excellent! Thank you for posting this.
Why do we need special revelation even though we have general revelation? Westminster Confession already addressed this.
I have used both of these men’s books for teaching history in Classical Christian Schools.

There is a reason why it is apparently not self-evident. It is suppressed.
Where could I learn more about the original wording of the Declaration of Independence?
We need a part 2. 😅
This was good.
