What is your definition of compassion?
Unconditional love.
I am a 55 year old man and handicapped and suffer from depression. But I still try to show compassion to everyone I am around. Love

Compassion is a deep feeling of empathy and sympathy for the suffering or misfortune of others, often accompanied by a desire to alleviate that suffering or help in some way. It involves understanding and connecting with the emotions and struggles of others and may lead to acts of kindness and support.
You did such a beautiful job of capturing David's essence here. Thank you.
I learned from David that compassion is having an open heart, about putting love into action. That can mean listening to people, allowing their words and their feelings to be heard, and doing what is called for in that moment. It can be about working to understand their needs, or their pain, or their joy and acting on that. It's about respecting and loving others, always, realizing we are all human beings who, at our core, share the same essence.

I went to school in Davis and saw David at his corner during the 5 years we were both living there. He really became an integral thread in the fabric of the city while he was there.
