Awesome Jonathan
You the man Carlos!
Great video. At 62 I am still working and plan for a few more years. I left the USA decades ago and am living and working abroad in Thailand. South America would be an amazing second choice. I've spent every dime I have ever made on travel and experiences but somehow managed to save money to have enough for a resort compound on the beach.... on a school teacher's salary....Life can be FAR better abroad than in the USA - far better. Think ahead! Plan but enjoy life at the same time...
Hey Alexander, that's inspiring to hear. What do you do that's enabled you to live abroad for so long? Thanks for watching.
He had a resort compound. I’m assuming that sustained him for quite a while.
THAILAND IS MY. RETIREMENT GOAL...AND I WILL ACHIEVE MY GOAL. GOOD FOR YOU ALEXANDER!!
I’m 62 and would like to retire soon. I want to move out of the US to retire where do you begin.
I’m currently gearing up to move to Sicily in February 2025 at the age of 60. I’ll still be working remotely, but living La Dolce Vita is my goal now! I was a widow at age 54 - which completely shattered my plans for when I got old. Life isn’t going to wait for me to get to “some day” - I’m going for it NOW!!!
Good luck with the move!
This should be mandatory viewing in high school after career day. Carlos seems to be a really good hearted Man. He worked hard, earned a living, and now is retired under the age of 55!!! that's how life should be!
This was great. I've been living in Belize since I was 34 and I'm 56 now.
My type of person. Take charge. Take measures to do what makes you happy and dont neccesary follow the crowd. Enjoy and savour where you are at now. Great story. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
This was a nice reality check for me, as I, too, am getting ready to retire at the end of this year. I remember this quote from an old ad that I tell others, "Retirement comes sooner than you think!"
Good reminder! Be happy where you are!!
That's one of the best talks I ever seen. All young people should see this try to tell others ways to plan, but they don't see it, they look at me and say.... Your are poor so you have no skill, they can't see I am poor and now have the skill no one taught me in the past
One of the most fascinating videos I've ever seen. Carlos had so many words of wisdom I was blown away and had to rewind several times. Does Carlos have his own channel as well? Thanks and keep up the good work.
This is really a good video with an interesting topic, and you are obviously skilled at editing. It's better than a lot of TH-cam channels with subscribers in the 100s of thousands. You'll definitely get there too.
Appreciate it. Just doing the best I can!
Hope you don't mind me asking, but what other kinds of topics interest you? And are there any other channels you're following that are similar to mine? Thanks for the feedback.
@@worldofnuance I follow some other "expat living" vlogs like "Panama Relocation Tours" and "Paul in the Philippines Old Dog New Tricks" but most of my other subscriptions are political commentary. I confess that the TH-cam algorithm starting showing me "vegan propaganda" in December of 2023 and I have since become a vegan and have been watching lots of vegan advice videos from both dietary and ethical perspectives. Historical and biographical documentaries also interest me. Let's just say I have a very eclectic mix of interests. You can always find something interesting on TH-cam, thanks to the tireless efforts of people like you who have something to say and show.
@@prieten49 Thanks for sharing. Always looking to get a better understanding of who is watching my videos!

He's a good dude! You'd like him.
Nice documentary bro

I appreciate that! The people are what make them come alive. 👍
Yup, #1 cause of injury for RVers is falling off its roof. Good video

Ahhh I love your channel!!!! Where does Carlos live is it Antioquia?
Yes, he's not that far away from Medellin!
Good stuff, Carlos has the right idea.
I agree. Thanks for watching!
Amazing video man !!!
Glad you liked it Adrian!
Surrender to the process. Thanks for the reminder Carlos!
I'll let him know!
Carlos thinks well.
He's a good dude!
How and when did he meet his wife?
I forgot how they met. But I do know that he met Carmenza a little while after he met me. They've been together I believe for about 6 years.
