  • Obtaining Permanent Residency (PR) or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK offers numerous advantages. PR status grants individuals the right to reside in the UK indefinitely, providing stability and security. It also allows access to public services such as healthcare and education. PR holders can work freely in the UK without requiring a work permit and are eligible for state benefits. Additionally, it paves the way for potential British citizenship, enabling PR holders to participate fully in the country's civic and political life. Overall, PR in the UK is a significant milestone, affording long-term residents a range of rights and privileges.

Usually the ILR is issued for a life time period until a holder stays outside the UK for 2 continuous years

I wonder if u can help me I have acquired indefinite leave to remain and stamp on my first passport in 1996. I work and had retired but this year I applied in a care home to keep me active .my employer is asking for proof to work. In my previous 3 firms that I work they only look at the stamp in my passport with the ILR and no problem. Is there a new requirement issued now?My employer is asking for proof to work.hope u can help

Yes, I can help you with that. The requirements for proving the right to work in the UK have become more stringent and standardized in recent years. Employers are required to check and verify that all employees have the right to work in the UK. This is part of their responsibility to prevent illegal working. In order for us to help you more please call us on 098191 27002. We can provide you with detailed explanation with what to do in your case.
