      Could we possibly get similar docs like this one documenting other AAMs? The Phoenix as mentioned could be a good one, as well as the Sidewinder (heh), or even the AA-11 Archer

    I'd love to see a breakdown of the history of the AIM-54. Its a missile I knew about in Ace Combat 4 back in 2004 ish. Which was when I fell in love with the F14.
    Id also love a historical and technical discussion of Russian and French missiles. As I know little about them.

    This is a great compliment to the DCS content. All I can say is that 'it's about time!' I hope you don't stop providing some historical context for your DCS videos. The historical and theoretical background is informative before seeing it in practice. Anyway great job and best of luck.

    The AIM 7 was an open loop hydralic missile too. When tested it was put over a pool to catch the hydraulic fluid as the wings moved fluid squirted out all over the place. This was also seen as a disadvantage since it had a certain amount of fluid to manuver with. If the fluid was depleted the wings could no longer move.

    Great documentary about the history of the missile, but I feel like the title was a little misleading - I was expecting a comparison with other missiles such as Meteor, R-77, PL-15, I-Derby ER, Astra and so on. Especially since two of the platforms you mention at the end (Typhoon and Gripen) are transitioning from AMRAAM to Meteor.

    this reminds me of Strike fighters 2 . one of my favorite games back in time, started with F-22 lightning II, and then Mig-29 fulcrum. Commanche 4, all developed by Novalogic. maybe many don't know about them nowadays. but back in the days they were pretty famous for their delta force series too. and then also Flanker 2.0. :) .

    Great video, love the new channel. The AMRAAM is a great missile, but it's getting long in the tooth. I'm waiting for the AIM-260 JATM and the Long Range Engagement Weapon to counter threats currently in service or development by adversary nations to NATO. I will say though, that I'm very skeptical about the performance claims of new missiles by said adversary nations....hopefully we never really have to find out.

    Does anyone know what the encounter was where the AMRAAM was used against the India AF? Possibly, the AMRAAM was probably fired by Pakistani AF F-16s. To my knowledge no Indian AF Su-30MKI's have been shot down by Pakistani AF F-16s.

    I've seen Israeli flying their F-15s with AIM-7 to this day. Usually in escort of VIP airplanes role. They said it has bigger warhead or something thus making it more suitable for escort of such assets where u don't need active seeker.

    AIM-120, while a great missile, is getting long in the tooth. Waiting for the AIM-260 and Long Range Engagement Weapon to counter other long range threats currently in service or development.

    After balakot airstrike by iaf, the paf decided to launch a counterattack in which it had sent f-16's, jf-17's etc to supposedly attack an indian army base. The iaf scrambled its fighter jets like the su-30 mki and mig-21. Thus in the ensuing air battle the f-16's fired their aim-120 amraam c5 against the su-30 mki's which they got busy in dodging. Meanwhile the mig-21's crept onto the f-16's and one mig-21 managed to launch a r-73 missile which shot down a f-16 but as the mig-21 was in the Pakistani airspace it got shot down by a sam. This is the widely accepted series of events which had occurred.

    • @AbdulBasit-lm1uw
      @AbdulBasit-lm1uw ปีที่แล้ว

      really? widely accepted by whom? Didnt your own anchor confuse the downed Mig engine with an F-16? Or how about the US count of the F-16s on PAFs inventory? Didnt your own military shoot down your own chopper in these chain of events as well? Denial is too obvious.. good luck
