When I first saw Ereshkigal, I thought she was a pseudo servant of Luvia. I'm a bit bummed she's not. Do you prefer Rin as the vessel, even though she's already the vessel for Ishtar?

I know that both sisters use Rin’s body as a vessel, but I always thought that for Eresh she uses Rin’s body from Fate Extra due to her hair being blonde and Ishtar using the Rin from Fate Stay Night. And also because in FGO Ishtar's animation she uses gems for her skills, while Eresh doesn't rather in one of attack animations she fires her spears in a machine gun manner which relates more to the Rin in Extra due to her hardly ever using magic but rather using guns as told in her backstory
As if Rin's massive ego couldn't get any more massive, now she learns she's compatible for not just 1 goddess, but 2! It's like Vegeta discovering he's god of not just 1 universe, but 2!

hhhhhhhhm I actually think Ereshkigal and Ishtar have different hosts :O, Ishtar's host is Rin from fate stay night while Ereshkigal's is Rin from Fate extra wich has Blonde hair in real life outside the moon cell :D
I think the same way and it's kind of true because in the FGO Ishtar's animation and one of her abilities she uses gems like the Rin in Stay Night while Eresh does but in one animation ather she fires her spears like a machine gun like the Rin in Extra who never used Magic but rather guns in her backstory

Well technically they are not the same Rin. Ishtar is the Rin from Stay Night but Ereshkigal is Rin from Extra.
Rin Extra is also the niece of Rin (Stay Night) and she took on the appearance of Rin (Stay Night) because of personal reasons which is why she dye her Blonde Hair to Black.
Ereshkigal needs better security.

i thought at first luvia was going to be ereshkigal also, but i ended up glad it worked out how it did.
it was confusing with both being in same body and both being called ishtar so at first i thought ishtar just had blonde hair at night for some reason, but as the talks went on it became clear that it wasn't ishtar after she sneezed.
ereshkigal after i played through this singularity is right up there with shiki and scathach and artoria and mash and nero as my favorite servant now. she's right there with scathach and scathach assassin and shiki assasin and in some ways passes up mash and maybe even artoria, and is possibly pulling even with saber/dream shiki.
still think rin from fate/stay night and ishtar from fate grand order are prettier then ereshkigal in looks, but ereshkigal has an almost undeniable personality and pull for me for some reason i can't quite discern or put my finger on.
i kept wanting them to revive the dialogue option they keep liking to use with euryale and stheno stories where the master character just goes/answers "yes, my goddess" or keeps adding "my goddess" or "goddess" after saying something, it just fit with ereshkigal even more than it did with the gorgon sisters even though charm was supposed to be their whole thing/schtick/spiel
at the end of the singularity i didn't want to go back to the surface with mash i wanted to stay where we were say our goodbyes and then rayshift back, didn't see a need to go back to the surface, didn't understand why ereshkigal seemed to be fading a bit, and i was kind of hoping that now everyone including mash and the master and caster gilgamesh were now under ereshkigal's protection, since we kind of submitted ourselves to her even outside of chaldea during the process of everything. and i didnt want to leave because we didn't receive permission to leave yet.
and the look on ereshkigal face about the flowers was priceless
and btw, not sure if it's just me but tiamat reminded me of altera's titan/velber form from fate/extella. made me wonder if there was some connection there and if/when there is going to be a connection between fate/extella and fate/go, because it continues to seem like the stories are tied together somehow inextricably.
the events of this singularity also make me think that fate/go has something to do with the moon cell cutting off timelines and instituting time locks, it just seems like we could be running from one of the time locks trying to escape it or something.
also i hope we can summon or call on tiamat eventually or help her get her personality/memories back.
still not sure why the master character was pulled into the void/primordial ocean randomly at one point early in the singularity or what did it or what we were supposed to learn since we woke up just b4 being told something important or something we were supposed to learn
the story seems to be finally coming together though and less craziness and less inconsistencies and i thought i would strongly dislike this singularity or at least be just ok with it at best since i didn't know anything about babylonian mythology and since usually anytime gilgamesh is involved it turns out terrible and i could never stand him in fate/stay night or fate/zero.
but this singularity did something i didn't expect, it made me like gilgamesh now. and i ended up with this being my favorite singularity. and overall in the game so far the only things that have really been good and entertaining and high quality and well done and very entertaining have been the fuyuki singularity, the knk crossover event and now babylonia. camelot was just a cluster in some ways despite being very satisfying in other ways.
also, bond level 4 mash from camelot the description says she knows her np name, but bond level 5 from babylonia says she still hasn't learned it yet so they goofed there a bit.
also siduri seemed like there's more to her than meets the eye or what we were told about her, and her fate wasn't resolved, we were sent to look for her but then other things happened and we didn't look for her at all and never found out if she survived or not.
and i hope my friends theory about romani archaman secretly being the big muahaha of the game is wrong, not sure mash and i could handle another betrayal like that. if it turns out to be the case i hope theres a way to summon olga marie animussphere back even though she was dispersed across the universe and have her take control of chaldea back
i also liked how rin tempered ishtar visibly, and how rin's softer side she showed shirou in fate/stay night when she gave him part of her crest was visible through ereshkigal. when you get past rin's wisecracks and defensive banter and facade she kept up at school to maintain the status/perceived nobility and elegance of her family since she was the family head, she's an amazing personality.

When the Fate story of Nergal and Eresh is so much more different from the original myth.
Victor Yang What are the differences?
In Christmas 3, there was a scene where Gil explain Eresh and Nergal's relationship. Basically Nergal was the god of the sun and disease and one of the few Sumerian god who doesn't respect Eresh's authority and power. To prove his point, he decided to head down to the Underworld/Kur himself to challenge Eresh. Much of what happened to Ishtar during her descend through Kur happened to Nergal and by the time Nergal is at the last layer, he was pretty much unprepared for to challenge Eresh and thus Eresh caged him up, trapping him in the underworld.
Since Nergal WAS the god of the sun, it wasn't good that he was trapped in the underworld, as without him crops will not grow, and thus Eresh permits that Nergal may leave Kur under one condition: To leave half of his authority behind to Eresh. Eresh set this condition because she wishes to acquire the authority over the sun so with that authority, she can create her own sun in the Kur to warm up the freezing spirits. However, Nergal being the god of both the sun and disease, left his authority over diseases to Eresh, keeping the authority of the sun to himself.
That is basically Fate's version of Eresh and Nergal.

Can a miracle happen and bring Ereshkigal back into existence? Rin as the host balances and unifies the two sisters who were thought to be one anyway. As for Tiamat I feel sorry for her if you know her story. She is not a beast but a creation and water goddess that had her husband and children cruelfully murdered.

They have that connection being opposites yet thought to be one and the same originally, and they have the same host being Rin. So why does one gets erased and the other stays around? They could use Rin as the sole reason why Ereshkigal is still around. Humans are very powerful dispite how media often portrays the opposite.

@@otakudaikun actually our Ereshkigal is the same from the singularity. She refers to singularity in her lines and last ascension line, as well as in Bond CE, which is about her and Ritsuka meeting. Non-singularity Ereshkigal never seen flowers in the Underworld, since it was because of Merlin, who never was here in proper history.
In a sense i can understand Ereshkigal, wanting to be connected but forever separated it can be painful right down to your very soul, and shows even gods are not omnipotent. They love, cry, hate and love can hurt and be hurt maybe gods are more human than we realise and that instead of worshiping and revearing them as better than us we should speak as the equals we may never have realised we are

The story of Nergal and Ereshkigal is a bit different in fgo, Nergal is seen as a villain sun God and they never got married.
Which sucks I kinda like the more mainstream version of the story, but it’s dropped mostly to keep her pure image in fgo

I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for a while now and I thought I put it out here since there people here who know way more Fate lore than me. Doesn't it seem like Chaldea is becoming part of the Counter Force, or at the very least doing the Counter Force's job?
I mean isn't the Counter Force's purpose to correct anomalies that threaten the continuation of humanity, regardless of time period? And aren't Heroic Spirits used as tools to implement these corrections? And what does Chaldea do? It sends a team of Master and Servants to different time periods to correct anomalies that threaten the continuation of humanity. Obviously we're not dealing with the little and medium threats, but the Counter Force has thoroughly proven that it can handle the little and medium ones on its own. It's the big catastrophic ones that are the problem.
This would also solve what I personally think of as the "mana problem." Think about it, how many Servants are in your Chaldea right now? I'm going to guess a minimum of 50, some of whom might be named Gil, or Karna, or Achilles. That is an astronomical level of mana consumption. There is only 1 mage that I know of who could even hope to pull that off, and we're not him.
So that's my little theory and why I think it makes sense. Please feel free to tell me why it does or doesn't hold up.

@Fred Duwe well the Moon Cell is older than the Counter Force so it might be outside the Counter Force's "sphere of influence," or maybe humanity had gotten so small that the Counter Force no longer had the power to interfere.

@@otakudaikun Fate can be a wonderful mess of a franchise at times can't it? Of course we also have to remember that sometimes things are done for the sake of story telling. I mean having the Counter Force swoop in and fix everything Deus Ex Machina style isn't very interesting.

I like both but when i think of Rin as a servant it is always Ishtar that pops up in my head.
A blonde Rin is just something my brain doesn´t really accept after all this years of beeing a Fate fan and knowing the good old Rin. I mean until now we haven´t had a black haired Artoria! (Even Arthur is Blonde^^)
Don´t get me wrong i like Eresh a lot too, but for me Eresh is Eresh, i don´t see Rin in her.
@Fred Duwe i know but i was refering to the original Rin and even in Extra is is shown almost all of the time with black hair^^ I didn´t say it makes no sense that there is a Blonde Rin Face Servant. I just said in my personal few i asociate Ishtar more with Rin than Eresh. But this doesn´t mean i don´t like Eresh or deny her as a "Rin-Face" :-)

Ishtar was the one who had problems with Infidelity, not Dumuzid! Don’t dish on my gold sheep bruh. She treated Doomzy like trash, that’s why Gil outright refused her. No wonder he was happy when she died. I like Ishtar in Rin’s body, but actual ishtar was insufferable.
Edit: Holy shit I didn’t know Eresh was such a freak. 6 days nonstop? And 2 times at that! Damn Guda has his work cut out for him.
It's left ambiguous if the Nergal-Eresh romance tale presented here (which is a relatively late addition) is applicable to the Nasuverse mythos or not. The events presented in the Xmas event is a reversal of an earlier version of the story, where Nergal and Eresh battle (Eresh wins in the Nasuverse version, Nergal in the real myth), with Nergal agreeing to spend half of each year in the Underworld.
I'm sure you may be doing Lores of Babylonian characters for a while, but is there any chance you could do Cleopatra sometime too? She is one of my waifus in fate and as a historical figure.
