Great video. We had some estranged relatives as well. We continued to pray for them. Last year my daughter typed a sweet letter to her and out of the blue they asked if they could come for Christmas. We welcomed them with open arms, served them loved on them. The lids got them little gifts. They were so blown away of what they missed fir years. They have no kids of their own. They use to call us, The Beverly Hillbillies" because we had such a large family. ( 9 kids) . Sometimes it comes around. ❤. My elderly mom just moved in with us. It is a sweet time to hear all about her childhood traditions and memories. The things she does today she forgets but all the songs and scripture is in her. It is amazing! So we are makimg new memories. ❤❤

Holidays can be hard as we age. Your children have their own families. Loved ones no longer alive. I remember my Mom hosting both sides of our family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My sister who is 14 years older took a lot of that over for many years but now everyone those of us still here are so spread out. I hang on to special memories and that always helps. Love your channel and your content. Wishing you all a blessed season.

I was blessed to have all of my children, my grandchildren, my mom, a niece and my brother's family in my home for Thanksgiving. It was hectic and loud and messy and we loved it. ❤

I’m a new subscriber and am thoroughly enjoying your videos!
I truly believe God had something to do with me stumbling upon your page as I absolutely needed to hear that encouragement about estranged family. My daughter has been estranged for 2 years or so and I have very little contact with my grandchildren despite so many attempts to be part of their lives. Hearing the Bible versus about estranged people has warmed my heart and will help me get through yet another holiday without my kids. And I will take a look around me to see whom God has put into my path that I’m not noticing , that I can put energy into. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤

This is the first Christmas without my grandma too. All my other grandparents passed away a long time ago, but my final grandparent was my grandma who lived in Colorado. I never got to meet her in person but I felt like I was only just getting to know and love her when she did pass away. She lived long enough to see photos of her first great grandchild (our daughter). Thankfully I'm only feeling small amounts of grief, but mostly love and thankfulness for her life and the time I got with her.
I'm absolutely feeling the overwhelm of the Christmas season already. I love Christmas but I hate all the extra family dramas that come with it! My husband and I are absolutely hermits and prefer a quiet hobbit-ish life. All the extra socialising combined with the increasing heat in Australia makes it difficult to enjoy how lovely this season is! Thank you again for your encouragement and the amazing support your videos are, I always learn so much ❤🙏 praying you're all well 😊

Thank you for the talk on estrangement. My son and youngest daughter doesn’t have anything to do with me due to the behavior of their father during our divorce. I wasn’t invited to any of the three weddings and now am missing out on my sons precious daughter who is now three months old. It hurts so bad all the time. Luckily my oldest daughter has come back to me and I get to spend all the holidays with them even tho they live 8 hours from me. Their four year old daughter loves her “Nan”!

Loved everything in this video! You had me literally laughing out loud as you were shuffling and carrying that big box dress so very ladylike!😂 loved the tip about that parchment paper. Also I make a lot of these dishes also and they are super Good Time Savers and really delicious . And yes unfortunately the topic of estrangement it's not estranged (lol) from me... and I so appreciate all that you had to say on it. It helped to make me feel better. And God has blessed me with two very good friends (shout out to Maryann and Sherry) in my life that has made all the difference in the world to me. So, here is to everyone who has gone through this to be able to heal and have a very happy holiday season may God bless!

Good job, Mama! It takes time! I'm a firm believer in that they need to be taught how to survive around the home and kitchen because I don't think it's good for families to not know how to. It's basic self and survival care!

I truly enjoy watching your You Tube posts. Thank you for the time & energy it takes to put these out for those who enjoy family life, cooking hearty meals, Christian living & serving God! Your program this morning hit a soft spot in my heart about family estrangement! 😞 My husband & I have been estranged from our adult son, his fiancé & our 10 yr old granddaughter for 4.5 yrs. 😢 Yes, it’s been heartbreak & emotional struggle as we have such precious memories of our joyous times together w/ our only nearby family. 😞

Great lesson and encouragement on estranged relatives! A Lot of us are in that boat. We call our friends that have become family, our "faith-family" ❤️ " who is my mother, brother, sister? The ones who do the will of my Father." - Jesus

Wow, you really spoke to me with this estrangement issues. Mine sounds more like a novel or TV show. My amazing mum died 5 years ago because of my brother! Then, the remainder of the family fell apart, which I predicted. (Mum's death was the beginning of a tramatic 5-year 💩 show that just ended). Christmases have been brutal since, except for 1. My 32 yrs old daughter and I are also estranged because she has serious mental health issues.
So, this will be my 3rd Xmas dinner with a bestie and family. After all, they're family. And I feel so blessed

In New England, your goulash is called American Chop Suey. Freezer meal version is great, but here it comes right out of the pan from the stovetop. Ground tomatoes, ground beef, onion, oregano and elbow macaroni, then top with parmesan or romano cheese 👨🏻‍🍳👨🏻‍🍳

    • @adriastark6012

When I do this with sausage, the grease sinks all the way to the bottom and edges of the pan and makes the bread crisp up nicely to make a crust.

I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. You had a lot of grandmothers. Were there remarrying after divorces or was it after deaths?
I also love history. I actually don't like most of the origins of Christmas (mainly Saturnalia).
OH wow this casserole you made. MMMM.
Men did cooking in your family that they were able to clean up? The only one in my family who is male and cooks at all is my oldest brother. He and I are "the cooks of the family." One of my aunts is also well known for her cooking.
ABSOLUTELY love that your husband said what he did about his kids wanting to see him and that being success for how you raise your kids. I do NOT want to see my dad. He did not do a good job being a father or husband (my parents have been married over 50 years though). My dad is angry and verbally abusive, so due to you bringing up this verse before which encouraged me to make a choice I needed (which has been wonderful). . it has been three months since I have seen my dad. I will see him only if my husband is with me.
I LOVE the stories of your upbringing. That's my favorite thing to learn about people. . .listening to their stories. It is amazing that you had people in your family to train you in cooking.
