It's called Lowball because it's meant for cocktails, thus not for driving around. Just like a rocks glass is shorter and wider than a drinking glass. They have other models for the type of use you are describing. These are excellent for keeping mix drinks at temp in the Summer.
It doesn’t function well as a travel mug because it’s not a travel mug. It does however function amazing as an insulated lowball cup for icy cold adult beverages. Hence the name, lowball.
I've had the mug for a few months and it does an excellent job, it keeps the drink hot for a few hours (unlike other brands that claim the drink will stay hot), in total I only got to use it in the office and didn't take it with me. I don't suspect that it should be for trips (this company has enough other products designed for this purpose) but only for occasional use
I drive a truck and it fits my drink holders. and yes the mag slide will leak, but if you tip your yeti over it won't spill out as fast as not having a lid.

Just bought the MilwaukeePACKOUT Red 20 oz. Tumbler mug at home depot. They got 2 sizes. They both fit into your cup holders. Super well built, damn near over built, won't spill. It's awesome as long as you don't mind a Milwaukee red cup. I like both uses and looks. If you don't like the color, then the function alone will do it.
I typically use it at home. It does fit in my cup holder but I have a bigger truck. Also I have only bought it when it's on sale. Even at $12 it is kinda of pricey for all the reasons you mentioned.
Wrong tool for the job. Low ball glasses are for cocktails hence should not fit in a cupholder. They have other options for cups that are much more fitting for what you were wanting to do.
But even the Yeti that isnt for liquor have that problem of splash resistent, anyways I LOVE MY YETIS but always try to be so careful when Im near of my laptop haha!
OMG Dunkin donuts used that same lid and let me tell you it is a bear to get off. I'm a big strong guy and it feels like it's glued shut sometimes. (My ol lady bought it) I make my coffee at home and use a 32oz hydro flask with the pull out straw. I drive a truck for a living
I have a klean kanteen one but it's kinda bad to wash I don't know why but they made the top lid way to complicated to wash. Then I have a Stanley one but also it's a turn lid which makes it bad for driving as well because I have to turn and pull it off whilst driving.
To be fair low balls are traditionally for liquor lmao, but I’m interested in seeing other Yeti models that work better as a coffee mug in the car haha
That’s very true. I have a yeti but a different size that can fit in my cup holder the reason why I love it cause it keeps my coffee hot for hours on end. The part I hate it that the cap isn’t splash resistant like you said so anytime I am walking with a full cup of coffee or driving and I hit a bump it’s already leaking from the top and I have to open the cap for the coffee to spill back into my mug lol my only complaint about it though. That size looks terrible lmaoo by the way I just found this channel and immediately subscribed! Already a fan of your stuff and content!

I own this and will have to agree! Way overpriced. Cosmetically it’s a 10/10 but when it comes to functionality sadly I’ll give it 3/10
