Big disappointment that neither of them have a phrase where he says "Destroy buzz lightyear! Destroy buzz lightyear! Destroy buzz lightyear!" Like in the film.
that would of been epic...I wish he said that but he does not sadly.
I can’t help wanting one. I’m 26 and I loved the character the moment I saw him in Toy Story 2, and that’s still one of my favorite Disney movies.
That’s awesome, doesn’t matter what age you are. If it brings you joy it’s worth having. Don’t ever let anyone tell you differently.

This was the only Toy Story toy I really wanted which they never made when I was a kid, only cheap Chinese smaller models. Imma have to pick one up one day as an ode to the 5 year old me
The original Zurg had a flaw that is easy fixable though and yours appears to also have it! The arm with the blaster was put together upside down a simple Phillip screwdriver and take apart to adjust the hand the right way fixes this so he holds the blaster correctly as well as the arm moving right way

I would’ve loved to see the infrared vision on the back of zurg and if his blaster actually worked that would be awesome!

I have the “I am your father” version. The second one you brought out. But I made a huge mistake by leaving it in the box because I love the boxes from this wave of Zurg & Buzz. Again, huge mistake. They were purchased so long ago and I am a collector who doesn’t open the figures but there’s no window to protect from dust. So you get the idea. Corrosion and everything. Had to restore everything from my Zurg. Buzz was all right. But after cleaning everything up and making it brand new, got to say, I love it. Such a beautiful figure outside of the box on display.
When I was little kid I was desperate to find a zurg action figures, because I need an nemesis for my buzz light-year figure. I never got or found it until when I went to Orlando and saw and then later on my birthday I got it when I went to Disneyland. Later I decided to make videos about him where he's truly special despite being too popular.

You know how I felt. I wanted a Zurg figure, and I did see one at disneyland, but I got it online a year ago, instead.

I have Zurg and it is awesome! I also have the Potatoheads and Buzz and Woody in my collection as well as RC, Army Men, Forky and Hamm grew up loving the original movie good years for me as a kid!

I have a new Zurg and he says the “I’m your father” phrase when paired with buzz…Really surprised me because I watched this video before and assumed it had been removed.

Hi! Just watched this to figure out how to get them to interact and my Buzz and Zurg talk- I don’t have to tap buzz’ buttons. Also my Zurg says I am your father. I held my Buzz up, more level with Zurg at first and Buzz immediately responded.

It would be really cool if you mod him someday and add some extra features like zurg vision, shooting actual nerf balls, wheels that move on its own but its still without those features its amazing toy 👍👍

Would the toy detector not work better if you pressed Zurg's button first? Maybe then it would trigger a back and forth without having to press Buzz's button(s) and also maybe that would reveal his other phrases. I'm not sure but it's something I've been wondering. I have a Zurg myself and I'm getting my own Buzz Lightyear very soon so I will try that out if nobody else knows already.
I guess what happened was I got the wrong Buzz to pair with Zurg. I didn't wait for the newer edition of Buzz that actually does pair with this Zurg. I did not know that until later on.
Great video! Think it would look cooler if they put some like red transparent plastic over the figure to make it even more film accurate. Also on the toy story collection Woody, how do you make the arms go up further? Like they don’t go up to far and it would be better if it could, do you know how I could fix it?
I think general wear and tear over time Woodys arm get more flexible the more used he is.

I've seen a lot of reviews that say the tube from his gun is easily breakable, can you confirm if this is true?
They are not breakable if you do light use and display. If you’re rough and throw him around of course it could break like anything else but if you’re careful and gentle it will not break. I’ve had 2 Zurgs and they never broke on me.

Aye man, my buzz just broke after i tried interactive feature side by side with Rex at the same time. Do you know why? I already changed the battery. The laser works but the sounds not
I think they are cheaply made and break easy. You get what you pay for. Disney store retails $30 for that reason... if they are used more they don’t hold up over time. If you plan to just display them they last way longer.

@@todayigrewup hi I have ordered Disney store buzz and zurg and I have a few questions about zurg, is he easily breakable, does the hose break easily, also does buzz glow in the dark?
Disney store buzz doesn’t glow in the dark. Also anything is breakable if you handle the toys roughly. I’m more a display collector so I don’t have that problem. You should always be gentle when handling the toys unless you don’t care if they can get damaged.

It’s cool if you buy 2 then you have one to throw around and one to keep in the box or for a backup. I think it was just laziness or to save cost on the Disney store one? Not sure.

The original Zurg toy definitely had better voice lines and they were more accurate to the movie, the new one is a little bit less accurate but more modified.

This really cool! I think that there is not a collection Zurg but I think that it would be really cool if you changed his box to be more like the movie but I really hope you can improve him!

My step dad bought me a Zurg toy, though it didn’t have a ball blaster. It was a ton of fun though.
He did get mad at my aunt because she bought me a Buzz Lightyear toy that had a tendency to go off in the night. You’d just hear “Too Infinity. AND BEYOND” at 3am.

I think the problem and the reason why we didn’t get a working ion blaster on zurg Not even from Thinkway Toys Is not only because due to budget constraints but also because of Safety issues Because Zurg could fire an ion blaster with foam balls and he could really hurt somebody or worse Children could suffocate on the foam balls choking hazard and although They gave Disney Store Buzz Karate Chop Action It’s probably the same reason why they didn’t give collection Buzz Karate Chop action Because Of Safety issues

Currently no toy company has ever made any of the toys 100% accurate. Zurg from Disney store is movie size but lacks movie features.. it’s not realistic I guess to real life as a kids toy. Maybe the ball blaster would be a choking hazard for example.. the zurg vision I wish they could do but they haven’t.
@@todayigrewup i mean the only un realistic thing about the movie version is the unlimited ammo aside from that it would be very doable even having waist articulation with a rubber bit to cover it the zerg vision could be done and the ball blaster just make it only have 3 shots and have the barrel rotate like a nerf gun to fire each shot
If you could make it happen let’s please collab.. I’ve been sitting on how to make a ball zurg blaster for 2 years and no one has been able to help me make it happen yet.
@@todayigrewup would love to Iv always wanted to do a colab with another content creator and the blaster would be the easy part the voice box and body parts would be the harder parts to make from scratch but completely do able but expensive but again would love to do it cuz a movie accurate zerg would be cool to have

Those IR Sensors he now has on his waist look very distracting, I wish they found a way to hide them better, but oh well, I bought him for only $25.00 at the Disney Store website so it's not a huge deal for me.

I agree that the older Zurg was better, specially the release with the close-to movie accurate box and the fact that his iconic "I am your father" phrase is not locked behind having to own a separate Buzz.
On a side note, I'm surprised that I'm not the only one who thought about using Nerf Rival balls for his blaster.
