There's a cap on the ball blaster that you pop off. The lil silver piece in the middle on the front. You just kind of pull it and it'll pop off to reveal a screw hole. You unscrew that screw and you can pop the pack off
Painting tip. If the plastic surface is smooth best to scuff it up using some sand paper usually 500grit is good enough. Then that's when you spray paint it in small even coats. Make sure it dries first between layers.
I made the same mod, using the same spray paint, and I’d recommend using a white or gray primer first. I didn’t, and it took many coats of yellow to cover the original gray. I did roughen the surface a bit with some 180 sandpaper before painting.
Might be possible but it would be cool if nerf had a gun that is like zurg gun and the bullets are in a circle backpack that u can see inside and the gun has like a reloading and it turn the bullet in the back pack
[SPOILERS] Zurg might have actually appeared in toy story 1 because in strange things you can see at the bottom of andys drawings of buzz you can see buzz blasting a giant robot on the right which may be an early version of zurg even though he was meant to appear

I don’t think the color of Disney store zurg is that movie accurate because it’s almost like a metallic with little streaks and it should be like toy story collection buzz because of the plastic

I have my own shop not really opened yet but it’s called BCR Customs I have a 3D file for parts for zurg from thingiverse it’s actually from not a toy company apparently And it’s movie scale
you could just paint half the sphere, wait for it to dry and paint the other half. or make a little hole, stick a stick in it and then paint correctly with spray paint. bro ok you're not an artist, but you're too messy, plan your custom better, I don't want you to end up just ruining some toys

As a painter the reason the acrylic paint didn’t work is because it was too thick you needed to thin it with water to make it easier to add coats
