    PERFECT The hotkeys thing was something I have been trying to find answers for for MONTHS and nothing was as straight forward and simple to get used to as yours!! The renaming layers according to layer order too is something I wish i knew much sooner, as reassigning the right frame at the right cel would be more of a game of luck than anything 😅Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, I appreciated this sooo much you don't even know 🙇🙇

    I loved CSP before they introduced the most anti-consumer license model I've ever seen. Buy the perpetual version but only get feature updates if you want to pay an additional sub. Then, annually, you have to upgrade to the next perpetual version which only aggregates the feature updated from the last version. Last, if you buy a perptual version and get the update pass, you dont keep the updates. If you stop the sub, it strips the features and reverts you back to the last perpetual version you purchased. Unreal.

      i dont see any issue as long as i dont have to pay a monthly fee. i paid for the 2.0 update and havent spent anytrhing since. I didnt really need it anyways.

    • @CreateNowSleepLater
      @CreateNowSleepLater ปีที่แล้ว +45

      @@MerserissugoiI mean to each his own but they might as well have called 2.0 2022 because its an annual model. Now can you keep 2.0 and be happy forever? Sure but when 3.0 releases in March or so, you either need to upgrade again or get the pass. Its isn't that they just had a single update which would have been fine. Its all in the fine print.

      Things that piss me off the most is that even if you paid for the perpetual license, you still need to be online every time you wanna use the software.

    • @AtomekKotalke
      @AtomekKotalke ปีที่แล้ว

      Meanwhile there are amazing programs out there like RoughAnimator or ToonSquid. (One time payment, ToonSquid is a game changer in my opinion) AND Procreate Dreams will work even on older iPads and will cost 20$. Yes. You pay once and use it without further questions because developers aren’t greedy so far and to be honest they seem to be great people. There are also free alternatives like Blender or Krita for example if Apple is not for someone. I know people like CSP for brushes and many other features but at the end it’s not necessity to create something professionally in CSP or Adobe. There are brushes for blender on gumroad and brushes for krita out there too. Many tutorials and resources from kind and very talented people. Don’t let greedy corporations dictate your creativity. You should own your tool and fell comfortable enough to use it. There are better products out there and people worth supporting.

    • @ManicPixie-bb7wc
      @ManicPixie-bb7wc ปีที่แล้ว +88

      I 100% support their current business model. That was how software licenses were issued in the past before the internet became mainstream. You bought the software license outright and if you wanted the newer version, you either had to buy it outright or purchase an upgrade.
      How are they supposed to make money when they sell a software license and continue to offer free updates for life? They need to pay staff to work on those updates and you can only sell so many perpetual licenses before the revenue drops. Doesn’t help that they are a small company competing against behemoths like Adobe and ToonBoom.

    I’ve been animating in CSP for a while now and I had no idea you could make a cel into a folder! This is game-changing! I used to just use a different animation folder for each pass and it was really disorganized!
    And you can rename the frames in layer order too?! That was another thing that made it so disorganized for me! I’d manually rename each one so I wouldn’t have to click through each frame until I found the one I want!

An auto actio for moving to 2nd next frame and adding a cel is a must. I understand how the videos needs to be short, a part 2 🙌 for advanced camera stuff with more moving parts can be helpful.

    I would prefer a full breakdown on how to outline and structure the folders and layers to create a full feature animation in clip studio. So far, I have not seen it happen although I know there are pros who do it. I am not fully convinced that CSP is ideal for full-length animation projects, even though it has nice brushes the folder structure feels very clunky and unintuitive for me. I think there are great things that adobe animate does for folder structure and nesting animations that CSP doesnt do. I've also never tried tv paint or toonboom. It would be great to have a course or tutorial series that actually breaks down the flow and development structure as pros in CSP do on full length projects, as opposed to something only a few minutes long. I want more! MORE! lol okay Im done sharing my opinion.

    • @moderndayjames
      @moderndayjames  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Grab the package I put together, there's a text document with how to create the folder auto-actions. I am currently using CSP on the Netflix Witcher sequel so it's definitely used in full productions.
      That being said, if you find other programs more intuitive or prefer them I'd say you should stick with those!

    I have been using CSP for several years as a 2D animation ganga artist , and I have found that CSP can only complete the "ganga" stage of the animation production process. This is because CSP does not have the same convenient coloring features as Retas Paint Man, especially the "replace color line with current color" and "checking missing colors" functions of Paint Man. Therefore, after the "ganga" stage, other software needs to be used in the typical Japanese anime production pipeline. Although CSP and Retas are both developed by the same company, it seems that there is no intention to continue developing animation features in CSP from the development direction of CSLSYS in recent years. It appears that they believe CSP's animation features are only sufficient for the "ganga" stage. In addition, there are some inconvenient timeline-related operations that I won't go into detail about. However, if they were to develop CSP's animation coloring capabilities, it would be a significant breakthrough for the software's animation module.(Translated by ChatGPT.)

I may be over thinking it but if I want to add a new frame with multiple layers it was difficult I went back to Krita because i was stuggling on how to get it to work how i wanted and i just wanted to draw not fight the software but i am trying to learn it now and come back to CSP because i see it is a better software.

    i use animation template instead of making new folder and layer over and over. auto action is the best. i used as auto arrange 50 timing at lightbox and change layer like paint to outline layer . CPS is a almost perfect software because of illustration ui.Its not 100% animation software

    I would love to see this tutorial without custom hotkeys I don't like the idea of custom hotkeys I feel it will cripple you once you switch computers to constantly have to reset it up

      Going to have to disagree, Clip allows you to save presets so you can carry it over regardless of the PC setup (just did it today).
      Also, having a universal hotkey setup has made it so much easier for me to switch to programs like Blender and OpenToonz with relative ease

    I feel stupid, I created the camera but it fills the whole canvas. There seems to be not way to resize the camera on a pixel level, only on a ratio level unless im missing something. I just want my camera to be 1920x1080.

    i have an issue with clip studio animation where when I play back the animation, it skips a few frames. It's really annoying because I can't see the whole animation.

    When I try to recreate the auto action, CSP always goes back to the exact layer I clicked on, instead of just moving to the layer above. Does anyone know how to fix this?
