I always thought the companion app for the phone was just to blend colors, having the shortcuts there instead seems very nice!
The companion app tip is a game changer.
I’ve had so many people using procreate say that other programs layouts and interfaces are overwhelming and complicated so that’s why they stick to procreate, but they want to try other programs too! AND SIMPLE MODE!!!! SIMPLE MODE!!!!!!!! It’s the perfect transition tool oh my god incredible
Quick Access is a lifesaver especially on smaller tablets and iPads and I don't see it used enough, so thank you for showcasing it.
The Posterization trick is really cool too, I only started seeing the benefits of Saturation layer mode and Color layer mode recently, and they work really well with gradient maps too.
I learned some really cool things from this! There’s always so much to learn abt the features.
Have u tried the layer composition panel? I love using it, bc it makes me able to show different versions of a character design or commission options. I like to play w my color pallets w my little guys, and I also sometimes have a weirder layer setup depending on the drawing.

Hi, thank you a lot for the tips! Wanted to ask whether you could give some design app recommendation for tattoo artists who want to go digital? Most people stick to Procreate, but do you think Clip Studio Paint would work better?
I’m honestly not so sure. I see a lot use procreate because it easy and fast to use. I suggest hitting up some tattoo artists and asking them about it :)

Hello! I have a question about digital art. I wanted to start digital art, and the tablet served as the most portable for me, after analyzing it I was undecided about the iPad Pro 12.9" and the Tab S9 Ultra 14.6". Is the iPad better for drawing? How its the Apple pencil?
Personally I find the iPad to be the best tablet to draw on. There’s no parallax or delay to the strokes when drawing. I suggest you go into any IT store and try drawing on both tablets. I went into apple stores and tested drawing on their display iPads, just completely ignoring the staff hahahah

I was thinking because like I draw on an iPad and use clip studio, do you think it's worth buying one of those shortcut remotes that you can program for iPad like the 8-bit do or there's like a couple other ones like the official clip studio one. And there's this other one that works with a bunch of different programs including clip studio for iPads. Or do you think the companion app is good enough?
I've never used those types of remotes, so I can't really give an opinion on that ^^; I currently use a bluetooth keyboard for shortcuts and it works pretty fine for me~
@@samijen yeah The official clip studio one it's like a Wii controller scroll wheel for brush sizes. It's pretty fragile it broke on someone just by dropping it. And it's like 80 USd so that's pricey. I think The companion app is good enough. Because I can see the shortcuts and I'm bad at remembering what button is what if it doesn't have an icon.
@@samijen is it just a generic Bluetooth keyboard? Is there anyone in particular you recommend? I've been looking for a good one but people recommend that you don't get one with the zero zero key because it doubleclicks or something like that. And I get really paranoid by reviews even if it has like a 4.5. there's always like negative reviews and I can't tell if it's just people being unlucky or if there's actually something wrong with it.
yeah its a no-brandname, generic cheap bluetooth keyboard. Sometimes it doesnt connect properly but ive been using for years and love it
@@samijen thanks. I won't worry about hit the end. I'll just get whichever one and I'm sure it will be fine. Some people like make custom ones that like they program on their PC for specific buttons. But I think that's way too complicated and it's also a lot more money. If they ever made a simple one that you could program right on your iPad then I get that. But I don't want to go out of my way to like download some software and then doing on my PC

Hi i have a question for the companion mode, I don’t see it in my tool bar. I downloaded it into my phone but it says that i need to deactivate it on my iPad, what do i do?
That's odd, are you using EX or PRO version of Clip Studio?

can you still use your cellphone companion in simple mode?
I've tried it out and "quick access" and "color wheel" is disabled sadly. Everything else works though
