In our production, the joke became ‘but love’, being ‘butt love’. Of course this was realized the night before our matinee final performance (which was predominantly our grandparents and school administration)- we could barely sing it. It didn’t help that part of our choreography was being bent over and whispering ‘but love’ (this was in like a reprise with Fester, it was a different set up than the broadway). Our Fester was not having it and all of us ancestors were barely holding it together. It was such a fun time, I definitely miss it!
I haven't even listened to this musical but this FUCKS HARD!!!!! esp the last few parts where they harmonize in this hypnotic chant and idk.... I now just wanna talk abt love... It's so well written and catchy

I saw a high school production of this yesterday, and Fester sang this as a solo with different lyrics towards the beginning. Gomez also had a song called Trapped... is that not in the broadway production?
Liz G no I don't think so as my high school as did a production of the Addams family last week. I was part of the ensemble, and when doing research I don't believe any of the changes with the song trapped and but love are in the original version. If anything I believe it's in the tour version. I hope this clears it up.
