The problem these students are facing is, EWS quota allows these students to study till class 8 but after that the students have to leave the school or should deposit the fees.

@@sreyanshuchaterjee3962 along with what you said, the Govt also provides them with vouchers that is used to pay tuition fees to the school. So the school is adequately compensated. This program has been going on since Vajpayee days.
@@libshastra the schools are not compensated adequately. The govt pays pittance and that too never on time. Try working for govt as client, payment is held back by 2-3 years and often held back over bribe seeking sc/st govt officials who over see this. This is why the schools try to compensate such huge losses by jacking up fees of general category kids. This is why schools are over charging students. This is how minority institutions, esp Christian schools are able to offer decent priced schools as they don't have this nonsense private school reservation quota. This is also applicable for other minorities like sikhs and some jain schools. If the founder is hindu general category it's a curse to even start a school.
looks like step in positive direction for bringing lower strata students to the main stream schooling or college education system but with the high fees and the expenses associated with the education need to see how many can make it to the fold and succeed with the limitations out there!! in addition to the same, properly implemented National education policy (NEP) which is implemented in the true spirit of legislation can bring some much needed improvement in the education system , though there are contradictions in terms of selective interpretation and elimination of the contents of not so much interest or criticizing the so called govt!! ultimately it should not be like ticket which leads one to enter and leaves them stranded halfway through!!
EWS students better join NIOS open schooling along with parallelly doing language, ITI, etc. income/job earning skills to help in future after passing 12th class in 16yr

In the 1980s way back before the age of Internet My school had scholars from Bihar, Manipur and the Northeast. And yes they were treated as second class citizens 😢😥😭 Nowadays private schools are all about fast buck.and this is not even an issue. Right to education is a total failure.
