Wonderful bathroom! I redid my bathroom about 15 years ago but since it’s the only bathroom in the house, I had to include a bathtub. However, if I only had myself to please, it would’ve been a walk-in shower similar to yours. And Ernie never ruins the shot, what a cutie!❤
Haha wr said the same thing in our one roomed bathroom! It brought back the hard work over 3 years ago. New spoil pipe relocate loo replace half the floor plumbing never ends new boiler new pipework tiling omg stress haha well done.
@@OurItalianDreamHouse haha very true dpne the same to several properties over the years .....kitchen now complete again im sure I have the thank god syndrome lol.... your place will look fantastic well done. 😉
Thank you so much Connie! Haha right?! We really love italian terrazzo but since it's crazy expensive we instead decided to honour it with ceramic tiles with terrazzo print 😁
Here in the states we call the covers escusions. If it was appropriate I would tell some of my plumber jokes. I have plumbed in pressure regulators a few times. My preference is make sure all fixtures in the home work well and fix the pressure there. The less pressure the better. for the whole building. I am looking forward to learning 240v systems. The states has 120v systems. So happy for you. One of the most rewarding things I have ever done, to build a house and live in it. Enjoy!
We have them in Europe too - escutcheons - commonly seen around key holes etc it means shield. But don’t search for the medical version and don’t blame Brits for the spelling 😂😂
I'm completely useless with the proper names of things like that, good to finally learn it! Plumbing has been a bit of a steep learning curve, I'm much more comfortable with the electrical stuff. When plumbing goes wrong it gets wet very fast, when electrical goes wrong the light doesn't turn on! haha Totally agree about it being exceptionally rewarding - it gets more and more so, the closer to the finish we get!
Finally had some time to catch up on your progress! Awesome stuff, Impressed with how you problem solved that green paint in true style. I LOVED the way the redo came out. You guys are an inspiration for all aspiring DIYers, especially those of us thinking of taking on a similar project in a country not of our birth!
Hi Jackie, thanks so much for the comment 😊 Yes, that's a great idea! We will try to film a progress update soon to show all the rooms that are finished.
Nice job. Here is a trick of the trades next time you caulk with silicone. Get some rubbing, denatured or isopropyl alcohol and wet your finger in that prior to running it over the caulk. Alcohol keeps is super smooth and also cleans everything up very well. Cheers!
I love that bathroom, you guys did an awesome job!! I actually had to remodel my bathroom here in Texas and I was trying to get something very similar with the tiles and I could not but it would’ve been awesome. I wanted to do the same look that you guys did, so I’ll have to do it in my dreams because I couldn’t get that tile here in Texas🤷♀️ keep up the great work ,love watching your episodes!!
Wooooo-hoooooo guys!!! Who got to use the new shower first?!?!? I really like the black frame-work. Looks classy. ANNNNNNNNNND...I have a new name for Emelie. IT'S EMELIE STRIMILIE!!! 😂❤😂❤😂
The best way to do the silicon is clean the surfaces thoroughly with meholated spirits and clead cotton rag. Once dry apply the silicon bead in 500mm length and spray a soapy water over the silicon for 400mm length and use a soapy paddle pop stick rounded end to form a clean smooth concaved seal. Wipe off excess silicon off the stick with a paper towel and disgard. Continue with the next 500mm bead and repeat. Do not over spray with soapy water as the silicon will not join and adhere to the last bit of silicon. Soapy water stops silicon from sticking to anything. If you overspray with the soapy spary you need to clean off with metho and allow to dry before applying silicon.

Looks great! Those grapes will be ripe and harvested before you know it, love that views from your home! Do you own any of the vineyards around you?
I wish we did, we'd love to have some vines. However, we do have an apple orchard and a small wooded piece of land with lots of fruit trees too 😊

GREAT name - love it! You definitely don't want to be a weed when she's got the strimmer in her hand! 😂

The cover is called an escutcheon in the US. Odd name for a thing.
Haha thanks Chris. Odd name indeed. I cant even pronounce that 😅
Piano piano can be translated step by step.
We know :)
You two haven’t showered in a year?
No. Is that strange?
Please.....No white socks in public.
Not even for exercising? 😅
@@OurItalianDreamHouse Okay we can make exceptions.🥸 Nice work on the bathroom.
