Wow, they have one of the most iconic horror movie artworks for the first movie and they choose to give us the basic artwork that's been seen since dvd. Definitely not buying now haha.
The artwork on the standard 4K edition is the same artwork from a VHS/DVD release back in the late 90s/early 2000s. New Line Cinema/Warner Home Video released the whole series digitally remastered with update artwork, including the one seen in this video. I know because the first time I saw the original was on this run that a friend of mine at the time had. I also had the "Freddy's Dead" VHS from this run. The Steelbook artwork looks a lot like the artwork from the 2004 20th anniversary DVD New Line Cinema InfiniFilm release. I had no idea about a collector's edition for this upcoming 4K. i will see what that's all about before purchasing the movie. I'm also hoping for a 4K boxed set of the whole series.
The standard edition cover is a promo from Nightmare on Elmstreet part 4 and the steelbook cover is from Freddy vs Jason and the back Nightmare on Elmstreet part 6 i would prefer the OG Artwork from the vhs cover.
Still best experienced on VHS on a CRT Tube TV. ;) Then DVD. The Blu-ray however is too clear(as intended) which almost has a modernizing effect on the movie. 4K will take take that a step even further. But at least the 4K allows you to go big, like with a 77" QD-OLED.
@@Svante Except 2K-4K was blown up to accommodate a massive screen size for theatres, which leads to a softer image in the end, compared to lets say a 65" 4K QD-OLED. 4K condensed into a much smaller screen will be tack sharp by comparison.

Couldn't give a rats ass about the artwork. I'm just glad that we finally get the uncut version in 4K.
Where did you find out it's the uncut version? There's no confirmation anywhere that states that 😕
@@ForEterniathere’s a uncut version finally it’s only 8 seconds more of Tina bed death scene

I’d love a boxset too. Thanks for the insight !

You do realise, that what was shown in the theaters (35mm), was as sharp and clear as a blu-ray?

Looks crap. Why not use the iconic original artwork?
And no blu ray either on top of the crappy artwork. Pass.
Ok think it looks horrible, its not even Freddy from part 1 its from 3 the steel book is horrible to why not just give us the original art work
