If we get -17°C or -18°C at night somewhere in the UK, I’m pretty sure it would be the coldest January night since January 2009 or 2010!

My money is still on no snow on Wednesday.. I think the cold air is now too established for the next few days and would not be surprised if the Low slides even further south.

If the amok keeps slowing down , then we will eventually have to start getting use to colder winters, it's slowing faster than first thought , the blob has now got bigger, and Australian weather is saying El nino , will be here to the end of next year, on top of that 56 volcano going up won't help with the atmosphere . Happy New year all 😂😂 But , the truth is no one knows what's going to happen.just a few things to think about .😮

For once I actually agreed with Trump, when he said the USA is the laughing stock of the world , more so after his Greenland , panama and Canada buffoonery

I think an inversion is more likely in the south. The models didn't forecast the inversion which took place after Christmas very well and the coming pattern looks similar. Be prepared for miserable, grey anti-cyclonic gloom.

Yes. At the end I mentioned milder conditions particularly in the north and west for that reason.

That’s what answered your question Brian. Snowy and cold periods were more frequent, these days they are not so we have taken our eyes off preparing for the cold weather. So any little bit we get we just go all woke, not like how we did in the 1970’s and 1980’s when we walked to school in knee high (for a 9 to 10 year old then) snow levels then in 1981/82 winter!

No we coped in the 1962-1963 much worse! No central heating a paraffin heater upstairs! Tractor cabs only had canvas cabs!
