Even when you're finished with this job, still make up some spray Out cards/samples one of each colour to keep for the future so that colour matching is just holding up both cards to the wing in question rather than spraying a whole wing with fingers crossed. Remember to prime them also as this adds depth to the final colour. Some cars are white primed from the factory.
Nice match on that wing! Stands to reason the A post is the original colour. You’ve got to make a judgement as to when you stop painting, otherwise you’ll end up chasing yourself around the car!
great video mate i have 4 shades on my system, looks like you need the lighter redder shade on the wing and bonnet and it will match the car, cappuccino-beige is not an easy colour and you done well with what you have id definitely go for the lighter shade 👍👍👍👍
@@grantssmartrepairs yeah maybe I should have to be honest. What do you think about my finish though. A lot of the techniques I learned from you I have to say. Apart from the matching of colours I’m really happy with the finish. Do you think it’s worth me investing in a heat lamp?
@ looked great from what I could see, I would 100% get a ir lamp I’ll attach a link for you, and next year I’m starting a training school and will be offering a diy course so keep your eyes peeled, as your doing more and more paint it would be much more economical to use a gun
I wouldnt be amazed, I had a fleet car that needed the rear bumper clipping back in. Bodyshop bill was huge and they even charged for parts they didn't replace such as reg Plate. I saw the bill and the post repair pictures

What fab job Paul . I think might got car back from insurance company for £570.Full repair cost from you maybe £1200. Think body shop rip eyeball out to fix all that .
That colour paint is very difficult to match. I recently sprayed that colour had to take paint back to car colour svs at Romford they spent half an hour tinting and matching the colour got it perfect terrible colour to match. Interesting video Thanks
My little 500 got clipped in a carpark last week... very minor damage. Local dealership wanted to right-off the wing and bumper (loads-o-money! Four Figures!). Just found a body-shop near me (5star ratings)... 'No probs', get that sorted easy; £150'. In Japan a big scam between insurance companies and dealerships has recently been unearthed, I'm thinking the same is true over here? 🤔

I get all my paint and clearcoat from www.paints4u.com. I do it over the phone. Speak to Alison.
