My childhood pastor (southern Baptist) had a weekly lunch with a local priest and rabbi. (No joke). The better we all get along, the better we can keep down the Taylors of the world.🤣
Man how I love these two. I love how it shows that two people from two different religions can be the best of friends. The mayo & hot dog comment was funny. That & when they were making fun of Taylor about God.
Reminds me of the real-life relationship between the late Monsignor Thomas Hartman and Rabbi Marc Gellman, known for many years as "The God Squad" with a broadcast show and newspaper column that discussed religious life and took a wide variety of questions and answers.
This scene is just magnificent. If only all spiritual leaders were like these two. It always irritates me when Taylor tries to do things that he would absolutely lose in court. He so willfully ignores the first amendment in this episode.
If Luke goes to Church - we know why. Those two priests are HILARIOUS. And they pick on Taylor and get on his nerves. Taylor: " I'm not afraid of your " Bubbies " Rabbi" Reverand Skinner: " Oh God thank you for letting me be in the room whenTaylor said that"
This scene along with the one after the party when Jess and Dean fought greatly displays their friendship. 😂 When the rabbi is standing at the entrance of the church they share and points at his watch then the reverend speeds up his sermon and tells his congregation, “…amen. Let’s go!” 😂😂😂
When the reverend says at 1:19 " O God, Thank you for letting me be in the room when Taylor said that" I thought they are gonna kill off Taylor, because they bought knew that. The old ladies where gonna kill him for taking bingo
This scene is bullet proof! =D The lines are funny (as always) Taylor gets mocked and it`s nice to see 2 people from different religions, act like best friends =)
I love this show. I watched it for years as it was on WB. And now I'm recommending it to my thirteen year old cousin because obviously there's mostly crap on TV these days. Amazing scene. Thanks for putting it up. I always love watching the neurotic Taylor and oddball Kirk too. XD
the priest and the rabbi (no duck) are making fun of Taylor. taylor is saying that he knows for certain what god wants. these men of god are teasing him, asking what god is like because Taylor is so certain about what "God wants" that it seems like he is in direct contact w/ God
i am loving this way to much am hoping it go on and on we just at the part where luke got custordy of is little girl and mr gilmore in hospital how far from the end is that ?
@@_Lane_ Wow I commented on this 10 years ago. Still wish for more people of faith then religion. Luckily, there are lots of wonderful people out there of all backgrounds and beliefs!
well...that ep aired in january of '07, and the show ended in may of '07...i don't know exactly how many episodes were left after that but it was around...8 i believe...

Take the deviled eggs. When loralie goes to Chris's wife's baby shower. Then Rory and loralie throw deveined eggs at Jess car. Lane yells at Jess for buying a car after he wrecked Rory's.
actually there's no priest either it's a reverend and a rabbi a priest is different from a reverend...priests aren't allowed to get married. priests are catholic. reverends are...idk like nondenominational christian or something like that
I forget that Jews and Catholics don’t consider humans to be in direct communication with God. When they asked Taylor that I was like “well duh what do you think prayer is? What do you think the Bible is?”
I like how the Reverend and the Rabbi are friends, and they team up to mock Taylor, so funny and clever too.
The only two men in Stars Hollow that can take Taylor down.
My childhood pastor (southern Baptist) had a weekly lunch with a local priest and rabbi. (No joke). The better we all get along, the better we can keep down the Taylors of the world.🤣
The only other instane that I can think of where a Reverend and a Rabbi have a genuine friendship is in 7th Heaven.
I feel they got the idea from the movie Keeping the Faith

"I don't answer to God you ninnies, *I! AM!! GOD!!!!"*
A priest and a rabbi walk into a diner...
and proceed to make fun of Taylor.
I support that scenario
A reverend and a rabbi... 😉
This is my favorite comment!!!
They allowing a protester, converted Taylor to a Shaker, and ended the evening with a cider
Wish these two had appeared more often.
The fact that the Rabbi and the Reverend are best friends, is already pretty awesome, but them teaming up to fuck with Taylor is just hilarious, lol!
You KNOW they have to be Luke's favorite customers!
Archie and David are awesome.
Luke could take notes from those two about aggravating taylor without aggravating himself
only after lorelai and rory :)

This is back when people were human and actually talked to each other.
Someone explain the mayo joke to me please 😬
@@rhondascott.6039 I think most mayonnaise is not kosher.
A priest, a rabbi, and an uptight, stick-up-his-bottom town selectman walk into Luke's....
All reverend's and rabbi should be able to laugh together like those two
A lot of us do. That's why we love this scene so much.
This is most of America lol.
I absolutely love the Rabbi and the Reverends relationship; it's hysterical and unique.
Reminds me of the real-life relationship between the late Monsignor Thomas Hartman and Rabbi Marc Gellman, known for many years as "The God Squad" with a broadcast show and newspaper column that discussed religious life and took a wide variety of questions and answers.
I would have loved to see more of these gentlemen. Their friendship is EPIC.

Somewhere in eternity, a past pair of Gilmore Girls were reincarnated as the Reverend and the rabbi.
"I'm not afraid of your bubbies, rabbi." LOL!! xD
God, thank you for letting me be in the room when Taylor said that.

I love the rabbi and reverend’s dynamic so much.
for your singing voice you should leave two! HAHA.
I love how they get along with each other. =D Ganging up on Taylor. Brilliant.
coolest pair of priests
i have only just found out about the Gilmore Girls and love every min of it it make me happy
I cannot get enough of this!!!
This episode was clever, I liked when Taylor slipped on a banana peel at his doorway.
Taylor is the living embodiment of what happens when a petty insignificant man gets just a little bit of authority 😂
Taylor is such a tyrant. He infuriated me when i would watch the show.
I can't stand Taylor, so I love it when someone rags on him.
New Gilmore Girls OTP
Archie and Dave ROCK!!1
I cannot stop watching this!!!

is everyone on speed in this show? too much dialogue too fast
Fast talking is a Gilmore Girls trademark!
That's like wondering why everyone in an Aaron Sorkin show goes on an inspiring monologue about the spirit of america

yes, fun scene, but not the funniest
theres no Gilmores in this, therefore this is not even close to being the funniest scene of the show.
I disagree. I love Lorelai and Rory and the gang, but there are SO MANY underrated characters in this show, it still works even w/o the girls...
