Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

Without Randy the series wouldn't be as funny. And Jason fits perfectly. His best line: Captain please sit down. (And then He reveales some totally unspectecular things.)
The show had a great casting dept. The perfect choice for Randy,and I can't choose between Sharona or Natalie both were perfect in their own way. Love this show!
Natalie gets really annoying Sharona is so much better

He was my favorite!! I think Randy character wasn't given enough recognition. Also his and Shorna relationship wasn't developed sufficiently it . The show focused too much on Monk mental health.

I'm rewatching Monk currently, and Randy is my favorite. Such a great actor.
Should have added that scene where he sings "Father please forgive me" without his shirt on. That cracked me up so bad. Anyway He's my favorite character in the series. Glad he settled down with Sharona at the end of the show. Will miss this show forever ❤

I know this was a joke clip to show how funny he was but one of my most memorable scenes with this character was when he was in the phone with monk and he tells him that he was once in a shakeout for hours. All he could remember was a bumper sticker in the car ahead of him thay said "Happiness is a choice." He told thay to Adrian in an important episode he needed to hear that. Anyone remember the episode it was in?

@@gabrielal1364 Thank you.I thought of this message as very important.However when I posted it on the monk reddit board everyone felt that this was the wrong way to go about explaining a very important lesson in life to someone who I felt was going through a rough spot.
The reverse liposuction joke is something I remember every time I've seen that word since the episode aired.

Randy wasn't idiot. In several occasions, we can see why he was a great police. In the last episode, he had the chance to be captain in another city and he really deserved it! He could be a little bit silly but his professional side was evident in some episodes. He just was a young guy around old people who saw him like a kid but he was so smart and competent for his job

He wasn't a detective, he was a police. In several episodes he showed his professional side and he really deserved the chance to be captain in the last episode ❤
