Hey guys, I don't leave a lot of comments on TH-cam videos, but just want to say that you are doing a great job show casing our great country. I've also noticed that while watching your videos, I am smiling the whole way through. Your charm and wonderful entertaining conversations with yourselves and everyone you meet is truly wonderful. I'm glad I found your channel. Keep up the great work
I usually don’t care for vlogs but I am always waiting for your new videos. You guys rule and your videos are great. I’m happy you’re enjoying Australia.
21:11 That's used in surveying. I think under the triangle is a place for surveyors to attach their equipment to, like a GNSS receiver for precise coordinates.
Our Mountains are small but I love Thredbo as it is so pretty . A child could climb our biggest mountain . The Main Range hike is really nice but takes about 7 hours to complete. In summer you can see the wild flowers , go mountain biking , caving and fishing .Driving from Khancoban to Thredbo is gorgeous. The snow covers the whole area in winter . Thank you for your beautiful vlog !
Your pronunciation was spot on Madow. Kosciuszko. It is said so fast that the (us) sounds like (os). You two do a wonderful job, and your vigour in everything you do and see makes us Aussies proud of our home. I'm alwys looking out for your next video, to brighten up my day.
You two always surprise me as I can never predict where you will be next. Looking forward to see what you will make of my home town Brisbane, along with the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. I think you'll be blown away.
This is an amazing video and brought back fond memories of being able to drive to the point where the ranger's vehicle was ( or close by) and walk to the summit where you would find a post box. You could post letters and postcards from here and they would be post marked with a special Mt Kosciusko date stamp. The walk to the chair lifts at Thredbo is a beautiful and easy one with a fantastic ride down into the village. Most people do a return walk from Thredbo Village.
Had a friend visit from Canada, he said Australia doesn't have mountains just hills. He reckoned there is probably about 200 mountains higher than Mt. Kosciuszko.
The name Jindabyne comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "valley". Mado you love eating, you are my kinda girl. Keep the videos coming we love them......❤❤❤❤❤❤
When Australia was covered by water about 520 million years ago, the Snowy Mountain region (including Mount Kosciusko) began its formation as it was covered in thick layers of mud, rock and sandstone. The layers kept covering each other and formed the sedimentary bases of the mountains. Everest, about 60 million years ago, was the rapid movement of India northward toward the continent of EuroAsia.
Theres a fantastic tropical birds place you can visit in Canberra. You can go into the aviary with all these beautiful birds and they land all over you. Its wonderful and you will want to take pics for sure : )
Brilliant video, and Mado both of your pronunciations of Kosciuszko were correct (the Aussie way & correct European way). Fun fact for you guys, the original town of Jindabyne is under Lake Jindabyne. They flooded the town to create Lake Jindabyne
Freakin' fantastic. Great views, fresh air, and exercise. Come to Canberra, you're in the neighbourhood. Take the drive from Tharwa to the Cotter dam on your way in, if you're coming from Cooma, it's a popular drive, and you'll come into Canberra from the NW instead. The Mt. Ainslie lookout is popular, as is the Red Hill lookout. The Arboretum is only young, the trees aren't fully grown, but it's worth a visit. Plenty of 'roos between Cooma and Canberra, take care. Good coffee for Glen as well. 🙃👍
Australia used to have massive mountains but they are so old they’ve eroded and we don’t have the tectonic activity that replaces them like other regions.
You have now visited the highest point in the longest mountain range (the Great Dividing Range) in the World contained in one country! Mount Kosciuszko was named by Polish explorer Edmund Strzelecki, in honour of Tadeusz Kosciuszko the Polish patriot and military commander who assisted General George Washington in the American 'War of Independence'. Mawson Peak is an active volcanic summit (2,745 metres high) of the Big Ben massif on Heard Island, an external Australian territory in the Indian Ocean. It is the highest Mountain in what is officially recognized as part of Australia. (There are higher peaks in the 'Australian Antarctic Territory', but NO territorial claims in Antarctica are currently recognized.)
Itd be great to see you both ditch the veggies and have a big rump or sirloin with bacon on the side with some eggs and maybe some baked beans. Just a suggestion. Maybe at a country pub.
Are you sure? I believe we have more skiable terrain, due to our flatter mountains and high plains, than Switzerland, but not sure about more snow? All good. Many foreigners are surprised we have snow at all. 🙃👍
@mort8143 I have looked it up and have heard it before. How accurate it is I'm not sure but it's a fact worth checking out. It kinda blew my mind when I first heard it. When you think about it it does make sense. The Alps have snowy peaks but most of the mountain is bare. We have rolling hills which are all totally covered 🤷.
Great 🥰 to see The Snowy Mountains in summer. 🌞 I've only ever been there in the winter ❄❄ to ski. Mt Kosciuszko is only 2,300m, so "survive" is not really apt. Are you having a laugh at our non-existent "mountain"? 🤣 How did Glen manage to break his hat's toggle tie? 😮 M 🦘🏏😎
My old area. I've operated Snow Groomers over a lot oof that area. Look Up Pygmy Possums the cutest little animals that live there. Australian Copperhead snakes are there and I've seen them slithering over snow.
2:51 How long are you here in Australia 🇦🇺 I live in Adelaide would have loved to have seen you in Adelaide. My x inlaws are from dulin love the Irish accent.
Look at your man the real outdoorsey type ,he doesn't need to be all rugged up in a big jacket . It's a wonder he doesn't have a nice coldy in his hand .
Great video,ty Glen mate, I can see some corks hanging from the brim of your hat soon (fly repellent). Grab a few bottles of leg opener(wine😂) for Mado and start the collection 😅
That water is safe to drink. You hea rd thev coorobee frogs. They die in bad water.r if you were at thredbo you could have gone straight ahead overvdead horse gap. Down onto the top of the Murray River.
It’s pronounced Kosh'-tchoosh-ko but don’t worry, we have a history of buggering up foreign names ourselves. Re hats, Australians don’t wear wide brimmed hats enough so ignore all the caps you see and stick with your Bunnings hats. Australia is the world record holder for skin cancer so,protect yourselves.
JINDABYNE! My second home in Winter as I ride Perisher..You should have gone to the Clay Pits and cooked ya breakfast..Also a good Place to Camp is Island Bend its stunning...At night you go spotting Wombats along the road to Thredbo or Perisher ..There is a Fish Farm less than 10 minutes out of Jindy..In lake Jindabyne under water is a town ..
Technically Big-Ben/Mawson Peak on Heard Island is Australia's highest Mountain, but it's in extreme conditions / volcanic. There's also Mount McClintock but on Antarctic land. Wow didn't know you had to pay to go to Kosciuszko Park. What a rip off. Australia has a lot of accessible ventures and unique sites, not so much dramatic sheer height mountains to awe at. One reason why Australia is Earthquake safe.
Great footage, but Glen PLEASE take Mado's advice and take a breath from time to time. Your wall-to-wall babbling about the the bleeding obvious is very irritating. I watch with the sound off.

That was really nice seeing mado being herself and really kind and more vulnerable
Loving watching you two
I'm so used to seeing Mt Kosciuszko NP covered in snow since I'm only there in winter, it's nice to see another view of this beautiful landscape.

Love your energy! PAC man Glen😂The wild flowers up there are beautiful. That whole area is nice in summer.
Hahaha Glen was on one this day! You two crack me up ☺
I hope you guys get to do Tassie, even more mountainous and scenic hikes, more like NZ.
I just love watching you two. Im smiling all the way from New Zealand😊
You two always surprise me as I can never predict where you will be next. Looking forward to see what you will make of my home town Brisbane, along with the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. I think you'll be blown away.
What a hike looks amazing great achievement 👍💖💖
Congratulations on making it to the top of Australia! it's beautiful up there!
Thanku Glen and Mado for your amazing videos we have really enjoyed them .

Ty for the video Glen and Mado, loved every second of it, liked and shared on my twitter.
I've snowed skied at Charlotte's Pass but I've have never seen it without snow, it looks like a lunar landscape without snow.
Back in the day there was no bridge and you had to take your shoes off to wade across.

For some reason I thought the trajectory was going west and I was looking forward to a Nullarbor crossing 🙂

There is a big population of wild brumbies (horses) and alpine dingoes in that national park 😊
Plus many more amazing animals.
Your in my neck of the woods. The pretty white flowers are native mountain Daisy's
Hat is perfect mate😊
Hi guys really enjoy your videos. You should also check out the blue mountains 1 Hr outside Sydney if you are coming back that way.
Love you guys

skiing is good at thredo, falls creek and mt buller
You have to have a sandwich after a long walk to the top of Mount Kosciusko. Congratulations on making it up there. 😅
I'm tired, and all l did was watch you climb Kosciuszko
Fun fact:
The Australian Alps get more snow than Switzerland due to precipitation and Switzerland being land locked.
Itd be great to see you both ditch the veggies and have a big rump or sirloin with bacon on the side with some eggs and maybe some baked beans. Just a suggestion. Maybe at a country pub.
I love the Bunnings hats! Great bargain. We just need to get more cute people wearing like you to kick off a fad.
Back in NSW 😎
Going to be so sad when you have to leave Australia 😢

Go to lake crackenback, it's lovely there and my highlight when I visited
Kangaroos do live in the Alps as do Brumby horses and the Corroberee frog and Bogong moths.
Surely you guys aren't bypassing Tasmania 🤔🤔🤔
Yeah, it’s amazing down here guys. You’d both love it here!!

14:01 This area looks like a scene from the Lord of the rings (I know it's no because they filmed it in NZ) but it just reminded me of it.
Stunning area
Please do NOT park under gum trees…they are not called “widow makers” for nothing
Great video
Love Susan

I thought you guys were in Brisbane by now? is this a late video?
12 eggs hope those car windows work
Yeah, particularly if they mixed them with raw cabbage and radishes. A gale warning issued within the RAV. 🤣
Mado, the snakes are everywhere.
Look at your man the real outdoorsey type ,he doesn't need to be all rugged up in a big jacket . It's a wonder he doesn't have a nice coldy in his hand .

He should wear his bunnings hat and shorts. She should wear hat, sunglasses and stop wrinkling up her face.
Get a real aussie hat; an Akubra hat.
