"Is that fucking Foley in here..." One of the greatest opening lines of a character in a classic film!
Nah fr Inspector Todd had crying laughing 😂😂
the alliteration is awesome--we the audience aren't even named Foley and yet a part of us puckers up. Like when you mom ever called you by your full name
2:01
Every time I see Eddie Murphy, I can hear Inspector Todd saying that 😂
😂😂😂
When I heard that he was a cop in real life, it all made sense to me.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Inspector Todd had the best lines. lol
Because he was actually a real police detective
'is that fucking Foley in here?!?!?!?' lol best entrance line EVER
The guy who played Inspector Todd was a real life Detroit Inspector...that's why he had such good chops for this role.
Man.. I watched Beverly Hills Cop last night and when he came in the bathroom yelling for foley I shot water out my nose. Best F-word distribution I have ever heard.. I was a little jealous.
@@adamdurham16he nailed it
And he had concealed corruption that never got exposed.
He also burned Richard wershey and conspired with nate boone craft to have him wacked
Shoulda did Captain Howard in bad boys 2 after the morge van chase scene that was the best of him getting mad
“ Hey Boss the Chief didn’t bite it all off , ya still got a little ass left . “ 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 now this scene will make me re-watch that movie again because I didn't caught that part first time.
That line is classic! 😂😂
Don't fuck wirh me Axel
How did you miss it@@alphabarre9096
Don't Fuck With Me, Axel. Not Now. Go On Home!"
"Hey, you want me to yell at you, because I can do that."
Great line. Joe Pantoliano. Real nice. Real proper *shut it* cut-off line.
"I was like gettin' them all in before you two showed up!" 🏀😂 Joey Pants he’s always great
YOU BE HIM... BUT NOT IN FRONT OF HER !!! You don't like your job .....Quit !!
@@o.c.g.m9426 "I can't believe you 2. Do you call each other up in the morning, good morning Marcus, good morning Mike. How you doin? A'ight. So how we gonna fuck up the captain's life today?"
Axel “ Don’t you want to hear my side of the story “ Inspector Todd “ What’s your effing side of the story “ 😂
Let’s hear your side of the story 😂😂😂
Where the FUCK you been, Foley! My all time favorite movie line.
Frank McRae will always be the image of Angry Police Captain for me. Then i find out he passed away April? RIP, my childhood hero
48 hours, Loaded Weapon 1, Last Action Hero.
reminds me of that crazy preacher talking about flaaames coming out of buttholes
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🌮🌮🌮🌮🌯🌯🌯🌯🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
I honestly think McRae is the final bosses of Police Bosses. He has a long list. "I'm the captain here, I do all the yelling!" 🤣🤣🤣
Agreed. The guy is great!
Lmao I didn’t know he was in all these movies but when I saw the clip of him with Samuel Jackson I knew it was gone be good because you know Samuel Jackson can yell and curse and they didnt disappoint 😂😭
The real final bosses of Police bosses is the captain Dobey in Starsky&Hutch tv show
No matter how angry inspector Todd, gets at Axal, _ he definitely cared for him. Anyone agree???.
Absolutely
And in the 3rd Beverly Hills Cop Axel was more matured and Inspector Todd trust his operations but unfortunately he was gunned down in the opening scene of Beverly Hills Cop 3
Yes
Inspector Todd was no joke!! "Where in the f--- did you get a truck load of cigarettes from"!🤣🤣🤣
This is great, an awesome film trope. The angry boss that wants results and expects efficiency, because *HE* is efficient. Love it.
One that annoys me though is the "two days before retirement/only to die" trope. Seriously, why can't they just let veterans just enjoy their life with peace?
@@osmanyousif7849 Because where's drama in that ?
@@viewtiful1doubleokamihand253Exactly.
Inspector Todd had such a personable manner.
“ Hi Boss”
“Where the fuck you been,Foley?!”
That’s how my wife greets me
Ah ha ha ! 😂 Bon courage monsieur 🖖
My wife's greeting is 'makes my dick itch'. She's off boxing in the olympics or something she said. I dont pay attention.
There was nothing better than a no bullshit black police Sgt/Captain in this era and Todd was the best of the lot. Was hoping we would have seen Reed from Robocop too!
How About Brubaker BEAR, (Alexander Hamilton) From STARSKY AND HUTCH!!??
We got to admit - Captain Howard and Inspector Todd are the two greatest movie police captains of all time
RIP to both
@@elmaster27428even more ironic both those characters are killed in their respective third films (beverly hills cop 3 and bad boys for life).
@@Diantamatioexactly what I was gonna say 😂
I miss angry police captain scenes so much they were an era…
Eras end bud
@NonchalantlyChozen they do? Is that why they're called eras?
Now we're in the era of soy and boy is it lame.
Capt Todd is the best
*Inspector
Inspector Todd is by far the greatest and angriest Police Captain ever! 🤣🤣🤣
"This is not my locker..." :O
It's great.
I like how they kept the joke in the second one. Jefferey goes “this is not my office 🤔”
I like Ice Cube as Captain Dickson from 21 and 22 Jump Street
I love how most of these clips are of the late-great Frank McRae😂 "Now hold on, I’m the captain here, I do all the yellin'!!" Lmao
You missed the greatest angry Police Captain of the 90's
"I don't wanna hear it McBain!"
In this department we go by the book!
@@Shadowfax-1980”Bye Book!”
"But Captain I have proof that he's part of an international drug cartel!!" 😂
@@TheRX78ONE “You’re out of here”!
(McBain throws Captain out of window into fountain)
McBain: “That makes two of us”
@@DonkinDChannel Homer (repeats) - "..that makes two of us."
"You don't think it was the bullets?" 🤣🤣🤣!!!!
You do wonder how much smack Todd had to put up with to introduce Axel as “That Fucking Foley”… 😂
I think he said fool, but yours works, too.
Props to to Capt. Dobey, of Starsky and Hutch! He's the capt. that started it all! After him in movies and tv cop Capt.s always was yelling at their subordinates! LOL!
I agree, I remember the anger of Captain Dobey, i was young, when I see him in french télévision in the end of 70's.
Captain Dobey is the boss of the bosses.
RIP, Frank McRae, and Gil Hill.
Inspector Todd still the best, although possibly the Bad Boys one too
I feel like that's the motto of our day: "JUST CUZ YOU SAY IT WITH CONVINCTION THAT DON'T MEAN SHIT TO ME!"
😂😂😂😂😂
"I heard what I said because I was standing there when I said it."
I use this line all of the time.
"SLAATTERRRRR!!!!!"😂😂😂😂 My absolute fav police captain 💯
Last Action Hero is underrated. Played action hero for years and closed that niche while being a pioneer of breaking the 4th wall.
Frank McRae had the best voice. A massive, angry dude that sounds like a train horn.
His character barely said a word in Batteries Not Included
The Horn Of A CHEVROLET SILVERADO!!
McGinley made that little part in “Point Break” into practically a signature role.
0:06 48 Hrs. (1982)
1:57 Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
7:22 Beverly Hills Cop II (1987)
0:55 Point Beak (1991)
3:32 Last Action Hero (1993)
6:15 National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 (1993)
3:57 Bad Boys (1995)
In beverly hills cop 2, when the mayor gave Inspector todd credit on Foley's behalf, his response back to Foley was so good just thinking about it makes me smile 😂
The police chief from Beverly Hills Cop is the best one for sure, he cracks me up every time!
Inspector Todd was my favorite, hands down. He was always yelling at Axel. ALWAYS!!. 🤣🤣
Died when Inspector Todd said is that Fucking Foley in here
R.I.P. Gilbert Hill & Frank McCrae
Beverly Hills Cop captain is actually quite compelling.
Foleys boss was the best
Especially since in real life he was a Detroit corrupt cop who somehow never got caught
Oh word? 😂That's wild
@hiawathaclemons crazy 😮 rest well and yeah corruption at its finest
Right....
Inspector Todd got to be the best angry, shouting Police Chief ever! He delivers some great lines with realistic Police Captain vibes, "Listen Axel, no more of these set ups you understand, you're a good cop and you got great potential but you don't know every f***ing thing and I'm tired of taking the heat for your ass. One more time and you're out on the street, do you understand me?".
What I love about Todd is, he's quite an unassuming shape, not a pick on him. Just lean and regular.
But boy did his voice do all the talking.
Axel:Inspector T how you doing (claps hands)
Inspector Todd:(Slams cabinet drawer hard) Where the f*** you been Foley
Gil Hill was an excellent addition to the Beverly Hills Cop movies! Excellent actor and a real cop at that!
Just cause you say it with conviction dont nake it mean shit to me.😂
Captain Todd was madder than a hornets nest😮😮😮😮
He Was Madder Than A CHP OFFICER Upon SIGHTING Of A GEO METRO!!
"And just cuz you say it with conviction, it don't mean shit to me!"
Believe it or not that sentence shows he respects him. It's also funny.😂
He's so good he's in a parody (2?)
That first scene. So that's why Frank McRae was in Last Action Hero, which I'm glad you included as well. XD
“Where the fuck you been, Foley!? What the fuck is this?”
Inspector Todd is my favorite character in the Beverly Hills Cop movies. He’s pissed off every waking moment of his life.
Inspector Todd and Samuel Jackson...two men that know how to use the "f" word!🤣🤣🤣
Frank Mcrae nailed as no nonsense cop. Respect.
RIP Frank
Some of these scenes are of true modern day Shakespeare literature quality, e.g. (Axel F) "you want to play some bullsh*t cowboy cop, go do it in somebody else's precinct" and "I don't want to see anymore of these blue slips, when am I going to see some arrest slips?". Plus Will Smith saying: "so there are dogs and a hooker in my house, how about you just add some Chimps, so we can have a Carnival!". These films are true masterpieces.
1:38 one of the cops closing the door always cracks me up 😂
Frank McRae was not playing around.
Honorable mention to Bill Duke in Action Jackson
R.I.P. CARL WEATHERS!!
he was great in Menace to Society. 'heh heh you know you f*cked up right?"
"IS THAT FCKN FOLEY IN HERE?!?"
That black dude was yelling a like 3 different actors😂😂😂
Inspector Todd’s death in Beverly Hills Cop 3 was the most poignant scene in that film. Even after being mortally wounded, Todd had the guts to ask Foley if he was on a coffee break while the grieving detective held his dying boss. Then he commanded him to go get his killer.
So much going on in that scene but Murphy pulls off rare dramatic emotion. After all the verbal abuse he took from Todd over the years it was clear that he truly loved him. That, right there my friends, is good acting. A gem of a scene in an otherwise forgettable installment in the BHC franchise
I know, it started off really strong and then just took a nosedive. Such a shame.
@@janehollander3843 I think it was built too much on nostalgia just like this last one which I only go through 45 minutes and turned it off. They tried to have 2024 Foley act too much like 1984 Foley and I was by having it. However, I digress.
BHC3 had massive potential but too many bad jokes, no real character development from mainstay characters like Rosewood. No continuity like John Ashton and Ronny Cox were absent. It didn’t have the feel of the first 2. I’ll give them kudos for a decent soundtrack as the first 2 delivered with the notable exception of no Oscar noms for Best Song unlike the first 2
The only scene i remember from the film.
From one Todd, to another Todd _ inspector T, was the best of all of them.
If they made these movies like this I’d be in theatre every time
Inspector Todd was the only one who took the cake. RIP GIL
Eddie Murphy had two captains that was hard on him
Is the one from Point Break played by Dr. Cox?
"It's not just a job, ITS A FUCKIN ADVENTURE!!"
Bad boys and Beverly hills cop had something in common. Their boss died in the 3rd movie
Eddie: Inspector T, how you been
Inspector: WHERE DA FUCK YOU BEEN FOLEY ???
That first guy was ON ONE!
Just cuz you say it with conviction dnt mean shit to me😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 damn.
Why is there no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles here? *“ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB??”*
Chief Sterns 😂😂
"Just what do you hope to accomplish out there, besides BUSTING MY CHOPS!!!!" 🤣
@@cassiusclayreels Exactly.
I love Sterns 😂😂 @@cassiusclayreels
Also, Bill Duke from Action Jackson.
Ice Cube from 21 Jump Street would be a perfect fit on this list
You missed a great one, So I Married an Axe Murderer. Anthony Paglia plays a cop who wants his soft spoken captain Alan Arkin to shout at him like in the movies. Great scenes.
HR: "remember to always go through the proper procedures and due dilligence when reprimanding..."
- IS THAT FUCKING FOLEY IN HERE??!!
Captain Bogomil and Inspector Todd would have made a great tandem on screen. Too bad they did not share the screen together.
I was like getting them all in before youse showed up 😂😂😂😂... funniest thing I heard in a while 💯
Axel: I smell it do you smell it cause I smell it……?
Inspector Toad: all I smell is your bullshit 😂😂😂😂
"THE MAYOR IS GOING TO HAVE MY A$$ FOR THIS""
RIP Gil Hill & Frank McCrae
You missed the other Inspector Todd scene. “All right god damit who trick my ass!!” 😂
The angry police captain clichè is f*king hilarious. "NOW GIVE ME YOUR PIECE AND YOUR BADGE, YOU'RE ON SUSPENSION. GET THE F*CK OUTTA HERE!"
0:07 , 0:32 , 0:47 , 3:32 , 6:14 , 6:52 *you just KNOW THAT DUDE is gonna die from a MASSIVE HEART ATTACK one day!!! GOSH!!*
Gil Hill aka Inspector Todd was the best irate captain.
Also Joey Pants in Bad Boys is great too.
Hell rolls downhill 😂😅😅🤣 2:37
I Had Plenty Of Bosses That Were Like This In My Time.
CHARLIE DEL CASTILLO Of VIKING FREIGHT SYSTEM Was One Of Them.
So Was MR. MC CONNELL Of FEDCO VAN NUYS!
ROMEY J. MARTIN OF TRANS CALIFORNIA COURIER WOODLAND HILLS.
My Last One Was JOEY RAYA Of QUALITY DRIVE AWAY PERRIS!
Inspector Todd was that guy you ran from like "Here he come here he come"😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nobody and I mean nobody will top Inspector Todd from the Beverly Hill Cop franchise as an intimidating boss. Axel knew he had to walk on eggshells when Todd was pissed off and we still miss him.
In Full Metal Jacket they cast a real life former Marine Corps drill Instructor to play a convincing Marine Corps drill instructor. Beverly Hills Cop is just the civilian version of that.
Lt Todd is a legend...
Excellent movie scenes!
Gil Hill (Captain Todd) could curse right up there next to Samuel L. Jackson.
Ooooooh so that's who exactly The Last Action Hero was parodying.
Where's the black captain from Robocop. Or the captains from January Man, Samurai Cop, or the Rookie?
Oh, right, who tricked my ass.😂😂
He wasn’t ranked as a Captain but they should’ve definitely included Bill Rawls from The Wire going off on Detective McNulty and others
When *Zootopia 2* comes out next year, they better fix the Police Chief's in that movie. 'Cause there was a obvious lack of shouting from Cheif Bogo in that movie. XD
8:18
My fave line since I was a kid. Never fails to crack me up.
WHERE THE FUCK YOU BEEN FOLEY 😂😂💀💀
Press the Frank McRae button. Get Hairdryer.
