most type certificate datasheets for airplanes flown in america under FAA standards use imperial units. the weight and balance checks work the same with any units and it would be adding additional sources of error to convert units needlessly. No TC holder is going to apply for a change just to switch units especially when TCs are filed under the FAA which is an american government organization and imperial units are standard in america.
I'm in Aand P school now and this really helped me wrap my brain around why we are doing these adverse checks. Thanks!
