Just imagining someone going for a shop at amazon fresh to buy wine, kettle chips, soup satchets and a pot noodle only to find bags filled with sand and a wine bottle full of water
Props to you both. As illegal as this may seem, you're actually doing some valuable research for Amazon so Bezos should thank you for highlighting a flaw in their system. Loved this video
Exactly there's actually people who earns high legitimate wage from doing illegal stuff like hacking called ethical hackers and some who break into buildings etc to show flaws. This Is what they did effectively as actually no one actually got scammed so they should be thanked
@@ruqayyahqadri8180 Well, doing what was described in the video is definitely illegal. Their excuse is "well they don't tell you that you can't just intentionally trick the sensors to not have to pay", well stores with normal cashiers don't specifically tell you that you have to take your items to the checkout either. Knowingly leaving the store premises without paying is stealing. Had Amazon sensors messed up without them knowingly causing it to mess up, that would be fine. But that's not the case. They tricked a security device to take something for free. With videos like these I assume they got permission from the store to try it, but maybe not, maybe they actually stole on video.
I bought a huge bag of dog food at Walmart once. Got home and the bag was full of rocks and leaves. It’s not weighed on the self checkout because it’s too heavy. Took it back to the store and began to explain and was told “Stop, we know this story it’s the 12th bag returned in two days in the same condition”. Luckily they gave me an exchange. Someone scored at least $600 worth of “free” dog food.
You should have tried replacing things with stuff that isn’t even the same packaging, just bags of sand to see if it works. If that works then you don’t even need to buy anything. The sensors may just be for the personal identification, may have nothing to do with product image and just location.
Also instead of returning the items for your money back you could have an infinite loophole of free food by repeating the same steps as before with the new items packaging.
This is definitely very illegal but props to you guys for doing it. Edit: I know they reversed it so it all ended up ok, no harm no foul. However, if a random person brought the fake item before they did there could have been a big curfuffle that would've ended with them facing charges for stealing and maybe worse. Also, no hate, these are 2 of my favourite TH-camrs!
I feel like three days later one of them has to wake up out of a dead sleep, I’m a cold sweat, and suddenly remember they left a box of stuff sand behind. Lol
That would probably not happen, They planned it out so that their mate instantly goes into the shop to buy em, but if some guy actually got it before then prison time is imminent.
I used to work in a Co-Op and people would just shoplift without a care in the world. They know the police do nothing so they can just get away with it. Once had a guy pull a knife out on me when he was trying to steal some ham. Bloody lunatic.
I wll always report every single instance of shoplifting. shoplifters are scum of the earth and deserve to go to jail where they will have a free food and housing.
The timing of catching this video is amazing. I was at Amazon Fresh about five hours ago to day. I may had pull something over on them without realizing it. I usually keep my used recycled bags in my drunk of my car and bagged my groceries in the parking lot after leaving the store. The bags were getting old so at the last minute I decided to bagged my groceries with new bags before checking out. Some items I did remove completely out from cart and put into the bags. Some of bags were in the cart and some were out. At the end I put all of my bags in the cart. I hadn’t received my receipt yet. I usually have it by now. I probably confused their system. So if Amazon is reading this, all items involved were all taken from the store. 😊
I remember I went to London last year and the concept of Amazon fresh was really cool to me so I went in and I wasn’t charged for two of my items and because I was travelling with my parents it became an inside joke of ours
I assume it’s very much a one time heist. If they’re not already constantly reviewing footage they will once a fraudulent product is found. Still a fantastic video!
Damn first time I’ve seen you guys in my subscription box in ages and then I check and you’ve got loads of vids I haven’t seen. TH-cam being fucky as always.
When you factor in the cost of sand, glue, research, transportation to a Sainsbury's and what looks like 2 Amazon Fresh stores it will probably cost more to make the boxes of sand and bottle of water. There would have been a lot of research to find the same products, you would need to go to a garden centre to buy sand and all what would be saved is around £20.
The best thing about Amazon Fresh is they give me 50% of the items I get from there for free anyway. No idea why. They keep charging £0 and saying its because of “promotions” 🤣
I cannot wait for all their shops to become stocked exclusively with sand of various weights.
