How to get into trunk stuck shut on 2006 chevy malibu.

Key broke off in trunk lock, have no key fob, trunk button doesn't work, cannot get seat back off, cannot get into trunk. How I solved the problem of getting into trunk.

I found this video a few hours late. But it's definitely very helpful. My battery was dead and battery charger in the trunk. I tried the seats apart and used a pole to push the buttons to release the seats. I had stuff in the truck and I don't think I could of reached the latch. I was able to push the seat buttons and with the seats down and move stuff out of the trunk. The rope to the lever is cleaver and I will be doing that. I already put a rope to the seat latches but I would rather just do the trunk. I would of saved so much time if I found your video 5 hours earlier. Who ever designed seat latches inside the trunk is a d bag. Thanks for this video!

What if you have stuff in the truck? What I did was to tied a rope from the safe lash and passed it thru the middle seats. To open the truck I just pull the string.

run a bicycle cable & attach it once open.. til replace key latch or not.. what i used to do in the 80's
