Thank you so much for this. I locked my keys in the trunk when I went fishing. This video saved me. I have a police interceptor and thought I wouldn’t be able to do this. When I say you saved me I’m not joking.

Not sure if you still check the comments on this video but I own a 2012 Police Interceptor Chevy Impala and wanted to thank you! I got the trunk open the only issue both the button located to the left of the wheel and the fob do not seem to be able to open the trunk which pretty much renders the trunk useless unless the seats are removed. When I press the button on the fob or the dash it makes a clicking noise in the front right passenger so we removed the paneling and replaced the receiver on the fuse box but it still makes that same click, no noise comes from the back of the vehicle nor can I Physically see and movement in the latch or anything. Unsure of what my problem could be but it is a real bummer not being able to use all that trunk space when getting groceries/fishing whatnot.
I try to check daily on all my videos, Clazron. A wiring diagram would be nice as these have more than 2 wires going to the latch. It would be nice to know if power and ground are going to latch (actuator) when you press the FOB. Take care & thanks for leaving your comment.
My 2010 Impala LTZ's back seats simply fold down by pulling on the tether near the end of the back rest of the seat. Wouldn't that be easier than taking out the whole back seat to access the trunk?Btw, the rubber grommets unscrew so that you don't tear the interior of the deck lid.
The upscale LTZ has the nice fold down trunk feature for extra long cargo! This was a cheaper line of Impala, James. Seats are stationary. If I was working on your Impala, I would simply have used the seat thether release.
Next time you have yr trunk open, tie a long wire or tie some old shoe laces together at the ends for length then tie one end to the emergency pull lever that he pulled when he climbed through his trunk and have the other end of that behind yr seat if u have the fold down seats like I do. The trunk does open as designed sometimes but when it doesn't, I open my back seat and pull string. I have huge subs too lol. ;)

The bolt is a stud, fixed to floor. The Nut with captured washer is what you remove. Good clear visuals.
makes sense now that you say it...Thanks!
great money saving tip would cost a lot to take to a shop ... thanks

Watch how I remove a trunk actuator and replace & even do a bit of diagnosing! I show how to open the truck with the mechanism not working!

I must have missed it, but was it a loose wire, dirty contacts cause it looked like you still used the old actuator
Intermittent electrical problem. Car had some other electrical issues, and i sold car before I was able to sort it out.
Fuse box under the hood
My police package has a keyhole
That is a great thing! Never have this issue!
These car makers are ridiculous trying to save money not having a keyed trunk 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I agree! Put a keyed lock for the trunk!
@@unclemarksdiyauto how did you do that ? Sounds like we are going to have to do it also. 😁😁😁
I have huge subs so i can access the manual lever .
Truck pops somwtimes after spamming trunk button & hitting outter trunk .
Im f%$#@ lol
LOL! We joke now, but I hope you don’t get locked out one day.
@@unclemarksdiyauto typo...I CANT access manual lever due to my subs in trunk 🤣🙆🏾

@@trey2048 Funny you should suggest that! I did that temporary idea a while back! th-cam.com/video/_XnlEpOT3LE/w-d-xo.html

@@ogdenphotographics So what’s wrong with your trunk?
