      Is treadmill enough to get in shape or skipping is also required?
      And what is the ideal speed and duration for treadmill, is 5 mph for 1 hour enough?

    I remember watching this at the beginning of my weight loss journey almost a year ago now. I started out at 273lbs, Now I fluctuate between 168lbs and 172lbs. Weight loss is tough, But if you stick with it you will get into a routine, And you will reach your goals

    • @MsTriggaTre
      @MsTriggaTre 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      How the hell did you do it ??? I am at 275 and I am about to start mine… but damn I hate running. What did you do? How did you eat ?

    • @lewis8200
      @lewis8200 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@MsTriggaTre you’ve gotta find a form of exercising that you enjoy doing, I cycled and walked, But if gyms were open at the time I would’ve done JiuJitsu. Exercising is hard at first, But after a few weeks your body will get used to it and you’ll start to really love it, Runners high is insane and exercise is something you’ll be looking forward to. When it comes to eating you don’t need any kind of diet, You just need to eat less calories than you burn. There’s calculators online that you can use to calculate your daily calorie needs, Eat 500-1000 calories less than that for a week and then weigh yourself, If you’ve lost weight then keep going, If you haven’t then you need to adjust. When you counting calories you need to count everything, A serving of Mayo is 100 calories, That’s a ton of calories and if you don’t count it then it’ll add up to insane amounts. You can eat whatever you want as long as you stay under your calorie allowance, But I suggest you try to eat healthily. You should try bulk eating too, That just means eating foods that aren’t very calorie dense, A handful of almonds is 161 calories, Or you can have 3 small apples for 160 calories. There’s some good low calorie frozen meals that you can get, They’re below 400 calories and they taste pretty good. The biggest thing is consistency, You need to stick with it, Eventually you’ll get there. I will sag that the first 3 weeks to a month are the hardest, But once you get going it becomes a lot easier. Good luck mate! Let me know if you need any advice or anything

      @@lewis8200 First off I wanna say, I dont know you but you seem like a stand up lad. Thank you for taking the time to even answer me. JiuJitsu must've been amazing for you, I used to wrestle in high school and was really good at it so maybe a combat gym could be the move. I wrestled at 180 so that was many lbs ago lol. Here are my questions to you.
      -You walked??? How long did you walk for and how many times a week? i am definitely going to try the walking and biking route.
      -Did you find biking better than running? Try and think back to when you were 250+, was biking something that felt better than running to you?
      -I am eating healthy, pretty much just greens and protein (meat, fish etc...) When you say eat 500-1000 calories, did you mean 500-1000 a day?
      Again Lewis, you seem like a great guy and I am genuinely grateful for your time. Cheers brother

    • @lewis8200
      @lewis8200 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      @@MsTriggaTre Hey man, No problem! I think it's great that you're trying to improve yourself. JiuJitsu was awesome for me, Combat sports are one of my favourite things on the planet, So it's pretty much the perfect exercise for me. Wrestling is really good for losing weight because you're training your entire body, It's a good mix of cardio and resistance training, The workouts are intense so you burn a lot of calories, And you learn some great techniques if you ever need to protect yourself. If you enjoy combat sports, Then I'd 100% recommend wrestling, I would be wrestling too but there's no gyms near me that teach it.
      I would walk for about 40 minutes everyday and I'd end up walking between 4km and 5km, Walking is great because it's very low impact and doesn't cause you to get discouraged when you're first starting out. I mostly walked for health reasons though, Rather than using it to burn tons of calories.
      For me personally I'm not a very big fan of running, I could probably get into it if I really pushed myself, But I pretty much hate it lol. Indoor cycling was my main way to burn calories but when I was younger I lost 70 pounds, And to do that I used an elliptical machine. It's about finding a style of exercise that you enjoy, I'm not a fan of running, But I enjoyed cycling, So I managed to stick to a regiment a lot easier because I didn't hate the style of exercise I was doing. I also used to walk up and down the stairs, I started off at either 10 for 15 climbs a day, And managed to increase it up to 30, I did this to strengthen my legs and build stamina for combat sports. The final thing I was was work on a heavy bag, I wanted to keep up my martial arts training for when gyms reopen.
      I meant to say eat 500-1000 calories less than your maintenance calories. You need to burn 3500 calories to burn a pound of fat, So burning 500-1000 calories a day will make you lose around 1-2 pounds of fat a week. It sounds very slow, But anything more than 2 pounds a week is considered fast weight loss, And I wouldn't recommend it. An average man needs around 2000-2500 calories a day, I'd say start off with 1500-1700 calories + exercise and see how much weight you lose, Then adjust it to meet your goals.
      A good technique I used sometimes was looking at your calories as a weekly thing rather than a daily thing. Lets say you really like pizza and still want to eat it, For 6 days of the week you could eat 200 less calories, So instead of 1500 calories a day you could eat 1300, Then on day 7 you can eat your 1500 calories + the 200 calories from each day that you saved, That's 2700 calories, Which is more than enough for some junk food. At the end of the week you still ate the same amount of calories, You just ate them in a different order. You don't need any kind of diet either, You can use one if you want but they're not anymore effective, Losing weight comes down to calories in and calories out.
      The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to do a ton of research, It's really useful to know how to lose weight and how to go about it safely.
      Best of luck to you man, Let me know if there's anything else you want to know! Hit me up at some point and let me know how it went :)

      A good fitness tracker like my Garmin watch is key for that. I get off the track Monday, see I went 3.5 miles in an hour, and see that was 950 calories...so now when I'm looking at food later, I have the mindset of "Holy shit, it took all that work to burn 900 calories, and this thing I want is like 750 calories I can eat in minutes! No, I'll fast or pick something better."
      The opposing mindset I see destroy people is work entitlement, "Hey, I just burned 900 calories, so it's ok if I have this thing that's terrible for me and 800 calories, I earned it". NO!
      The only time I tend to do that anymore is I will allow myself a full-sugar non-diet Dr Pepper 20oz bottle as a victory treat after a competitive 5K event.

    GG!
    I was 106KG once (6 feet). I went down to 83 in exactly 4 months. I was a jogger most of my life so it wasn’t hard to get back to it. However, my sister wanted to lose weight and her only option was walking. I had to walk with her everyday to show her that running isn’t more important than walking. Both are good and you can still lose weight from long walks 5 times a week. Just a meal everyday (I pretty much ate the same stuff excluding potatoes and soda).
    I loathe treadmills. I just go to the beach and take long walks. What i did is, 1 month fasting and very low calories. 3 months just walking everyday. And with the heat and humidity, I seriously dunno how anyone can’t lose weight fast lol
    I made sure to take 2 days off for my body to recover. Been a jogger most of my life and never went more than 5 times a week. I don’t do cheat days. But once you go down slowly, your body adjusts to meals and doesn’t skyrocket after one meal (MMA style).
    My only advice to people is to do it slowly and not go down fast killing yourself. Because your weight will go up also faster. now I’m comfortably at 75KG. And that’s my target for my height. I could go for abs. No steroids nonsense.

      True and effective weight loss is not something fast and instant like Instagram likes to portray.
      It needs to be taken SLOWLY but consistently, if you lose weight fast then you will recover it all back because you didn't let the exercises become part of your daily routine.

    Amazing work. I used to run 3 or 4 times a week and my life as a whole was in a great place. Then I got Injured playing football and I lost my release, I couldn't run. I'm 9 stone heavier and suffer with mental health issues. Seeing this is inspiring. I may even be brave enough to document it. Thank you for the video. Stay healthy
