SS Kleeman is really starting to take shape
SS for “Stationary Ship” 😂
@@kaare6788😂😂 good one❤
I'm Like'n it! I'm with ya on the ladder set up too! Story for ya: I was working on my barn roof and borrowed a friends 40' aluminum extension ladder. I used the bucket of the backhoe to set it in place. I was working by myself. Well, the bucket would not work taking it down - because the feet of the ladder would not slid back across the ground - like it did going up. So there I stood, in front of the barn with that ladder straight up in the air, trying to figure out how to get it down. I was in a pickle! As I was contemplating what to do, a guy who works for the county road department drive by, saw me and my ladder. He stopped and said, "You look like you need some help!" And he did. It was easy with two of us! I was sweating bullets! Great video! Thanks Mike! Lee
One more item off the knock list and on to the next Captain.
Slow bur steady the TH-cam Yacth is coming together to eventual completion.
Matt beat ya to it with his Castle/Lighthouse but he had a ton of assistance you don't.
40 foot ladders are tough to put up & take down by yourself for sure! If necessary you can put the bottom feet up against the building you're standing it up to use on, then from a laying down flat position start at the top and 'walk it up' rung by rung til its standing up then move bottom out a bit so you can stand it up & use it. Reverse this process to take it down. Its not something you should do if you're not fairly strong and have ladder experience but it can be done - I've done it many times. I also started using ladders when wooden ladders were still frequently used, and those aren't at all light in the slightest bit! I remember borrowing a 40' wood ladder a couple times decades ago & that thing was really heavy......definitely not tossing that up alone, needed 2 guys to wrestle that thing! Anyways stay safe with the big ladders cause any little breeze will knock that aluminum extension ladder right to the ground very quickly leaving you stranded up on the roof with no way to get down... don't forget to tie off the ladder so it can't slide down. I like the bucket ladder holder\weight anchor too, I've used my truck tire before but usually like to stack shingle bundles behind the feet & possibly another over bottom rung if extra security\footing is needed when doing a roof. 👍🏻🛠️🔩📐✏️🗜️📏🦺⚠️🚧
It's always fun when others can start seeing the vision.
Looking great Mike!
Before you know it, the whole crew will be running around, pokin their heads out of every window, runnin up and down those spiral stairs, laughing, giggling, and having a fantastic time!🤙
Everything is looking great!!! It amazes me how much you can get done working by yourself!! Can't wait for the next video!
What you wrote is right on the money. And he does it safely. How he handles the ladder by his self amazes me. I hope he was not inhaling any of the concrete dust.
Those posts made a big difference in the look of the cabin, gave it some depth. It's going to look great with the deck around it. Kind of cool exploring the top too!
I’m blown away at how much you get done by yourself. Some of it must be frustrating for you bc having worked in commercial construction and having a ready access to assistance was a standard. That said, it is fun to watch you figure it out, take the time to plan shots, and then put it all together just for our viewing pleasure….and of course, financial purposes. Impressive sir, simply impressive 👌
Captain you are indeed a clever person and love what you are doing. As I have said many times your antics do make me smile.
Shot and filmed on Feb 3rd, and I'm watching on the 6th? I knew we were "near-time", but didn't realize we were practically real-time. Impressive. Boat is looking great!
I love your humor and you do what you want. Turning into a beautiful thing. God Bless Y'all and Jesus Loves Y'all!!! Johnny
That was sketchy. Glad you tied off the ladder. Nice that you are getting a few nice days. Every day we get one day closer to spring. Looking good.
Oh I say, Sir 😎😎😎
Getting fancier by the video, Captain 😁
Deck timbers are impressive, no wonder you keep going back to look at them 😎💪
The fancy generator has a cherry picker attached for those not quite so hard to reach jobs 😂😂
You should be in love with it. You have worked hard to get it to this point. Fine job. 💪
Love your videos. When you had the camera attached to the lift, it gave the illusion that the boat was rocking. Very cool!!!
Yes, I felt the same, forgot to mention it in my comment! It was very cool!
The SS Admiral, with all due respect Captain. This was an excursion steamboat that operated from 1940 to 1978 and also happens to be the head honcho in your organization. 😅🤣😂 John here, photographing the beauty of the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y'all.
Gives it a whole different dimension with the posts set!!.. Lookin good Capt
There’s nothing better than to start the day with Captain Kleeman sarcasm,Mike your just killing it with the progress that you are making on the you tube yacht.just keep on doing what you do best.be safe.great video as always 👍👍👍😎😎😎
This is turning out very cool every step of the way.
How about "Boat Perfect"😉,or The boat rental. Love your time lapsed thinking process, love your videos, and so disappointed when its done.
Please be safe 😊
Hello Mike. If there were any steamboats that traveled the Ohio River, that might be a nice name for it. I can hear the excitement in your voice. I don't see anything wrong with getting caught up in the moment of looking at the progress, I would! Have good days!
Cap’n it looks like your commute on the struggle bus was worth it…. The railing is gonna be fantastic!!
Keep on keeping on… your voyage is epic.
nice progress today Mike, happy to see the weather is finally helping you, can't wait for the next one 👍👍👍👍👍
U.S.A RUN A GROUND 😂😂😂😂 Hi 👋 from Australia 👍👍👍
Every time you ask for our help I always think it would be lovely to do, unfortunately though my travel insurance would cost me twice the ticket from the UK so that's not happening. Really like the way things are shaping up, starting to look like a river boat paddle steamer. 👍
@ 21:20 I think the Admiral and the two Commodores will appreciate that you took the extra step to secure the bottom of the ladder !! KUDOS on thinking of your future and safety !
Boat name suggestion.... "The Y Knot" You could make a huge custom welcome sign that has the name, and the letter 'Y' can be made using a really think nautical rope with a huge knot in the middle! ❤❤ how fun!!
The “STEAM’N KLEEMAN”
Good morning sunshine! Glad y'all have some good weather! You get sooo much done right by yourself! Great video! Much love and respect from Henderson Ga USA
Goodonya Captain! My eye started twitching when you were setting up that ladder, it only stopped when you put the strap on!!! The boat's getting ready to sail! Love your work from AUS.
👍 Epic for sure. Helps hold that roof down if a nader comes near as well.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Looking great. Nice to see a fair weather day to work in the winter. Wishing you and your family the best.
Made me laugh about the wasps. I grew up in a swampy area in Central New York State. Used to brag about the size of our mosquitoes being near bird size. Was cleaning the driveway on a sunny subzero winter day and noticed mosquitoes buzzing around. Still can’t explain it. 😂
Awesome Video!! Thank you for sharing. Amazing how much work you get done on your own. 💖💖
Boatey McBoat Place?
Sorry, had to.
She's looking great. Wildly curious to see how it finishes out.
Well Done. Getting tall posts attached was a big chore for one person. Going to look very sharp, when done.
Thanks for the video get ready for the Weather event next week calling for more than a few inches of snow
Looking great, Captain! Keep up the good work!
I love your energy and enthusiasm, This is a fantastic voyage, Thankyou for bringing us along with you, I love it! I must admit I have jumped a few times to want to help hold things for you, you are an amazing craftsman! Please continue to be careful !
Putting up those posts on the back side was what I always called a three hand job. One hand to hold material in place, one hand to fasten material, and one hand to hold on. Unfortunately the powers that be only saw fit to issue me two hands, making those jobs difficult.😸
Mike, I just have to say, I have seen you do MORE by yourself, in good weather, and in bad, than most three man crews!!!
looks great.i love the way the bridge looks with those arches ,that really makes it
Hay Mike, I just yesterday was given a rubber wrist band that says" YAGOTTAWANNA" It's a motivational thing which reminds me of your efforts. Possibly a craft name with a Navy prefix of ATF which is Aux.Tug Fleet or the two tugs that I served on in the 70s in San Diego and Pearl Harbor
Amazing Job and quality workmanship
What a great design, Mike. The project is really shaping up.
Really starting to take shape Captain, can't wait to see the paddle wheel! Take care and stay safe.
Have to have a ceremony to launch a boat. I fully expect some champagne broken on the bow, music, etc. when this thing finally sets sail!
Looking good Capt’n!
Aqwsome chapter Mike. The final deck project will be epic
It does look cool, really shapes it out juat with the poles, camt wait to see the deck on it.
Maybe call her the Indianna Queen?
Always appreciate your approach to ladder safety too, so many gung ho people out there who forget it only has to not work once to kill or cripple you
You are the man. Great project.
Good Morning Captain!!
All I can say is WOW!!
Stay Safe Brother!!
Looking good! I never thought of water penetration into the boltholes on a deck. Now that I know, of course you would use epoxy. Not only that, but it will hold better.
The weather this week has turned in your favor. 70 degrees in February is nice 🌴🌞
The "All Ashore" Cabin.
Nice work, post made a real difference in the look. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Awesome video! Everything you do turns out Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Hello Mike & it's is Randy i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Mike & Friends Randy
If a yellow lab became a person they would be capn kleeman. Keep up the good work hoss 👍
Looking Good Mike, Stay Safe
Hey Captain! Just wanted to say your TH-cam boat project is developing nicely. Good job, man.👌
Man I wish we would have got a flash of 70, it was mid 40’s on Monday now ice.
Looking good.
Love the self votes of self confidence 🤣
Take care
You sir are one tough fella. Thanks for the video s.
See how good the process goes when you have the attitude of Capt. Kleeman!
General Electric..."Progress is our most important product."
Keep On Truck'n...Captain.
Beau travail Mike tu es le meilleur 😊❤❤
I recommend calling it the "Safe Water Yacht" because of this:
“Mark twain” is a riverboat term that refers to a depth of water that is safe for steamboats to travel on the Mississippi River. The term was used by the leadman to signal that the boat was in safe water.
Each new project brings a new perspective, she’s really starting to take shape now. I don’t know how you do it Mike, my legs were shaking when you were up on the ladder on the starboard side. Might I suggest that you tie yourself off somehow before attempting that again. The USS Admiral has a nice ring to it don’t ya think? Careful how you answer that 😉. Stay safe Captain.
That is definitely a HOUSE boat, keep that in mind when you name it. As always, thanks for sharing.
SS Running Aground is a good name for the cabin.
When we will see Mr and Mrs Kleeman in front of the YT yacht and wind blowing in their hair and we hear the titanic musictheme 😂
Hi Mike. 70 degrees , in February? I'm moving to Indiana! At around 18:40, it looked like the yacht had set sail! The ladder worked out but I think I would have found a way to get the lift over to the sketchy side. You do have an excavator and a backhoe nearby. The columns give the yacht a more finished look, that's for sure!
I’m up here at the corner of Missouri, Illinois, Iowa. It did not last long trust me lol
It's really coming together now. That ladder maneuvering is just another good reason not to have the upper windows in yet. It'll be done before you or any of us know it!
It looks great, but remember you have the outside siding to put on. And windows too.
Are we just stating obvious things? 🤣
One of the earliest paddle wheel boats on the Ohio River was commissioned in 1816. It was built by Noah Ludlow, and was called Noah's Ark. I think this one should be named Kleeman's Ark.
Little boat house in the forest. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🎇
You are indeed a clever fella!
As for a name for the boat rental cabin: Comfortably Numb. Just relax.... FYI My boat, a 20 feet rib was called the: Kowloon Diver. At that time me and my mates were scuba diving on the North Sea every second weekend. We went to Ireland 30 years ago to dive on the Kowloon Bridge and the U260 and Goliath. Great memories... The Irish people are great. A time when men were made out of steel and ships were made of cast iron. Just kidding. Good luck with finding a name, my next boat will be called comfortably numb after...Pink Floyd's song.
Looking great Cap’n.
Looking awesome 😊
You always amazed me too how you get some of these task done by yourself!!! I was right there grunting with you setting that ladder, could you feel the assistance?
Good for you for securing the bottom of the ladder. I've had a ladder slip and fall twice. I did not see the anchor bolts well but if they are just all-thread (threaded rod) then I wonder if you flatten the bottom a bit so they cannot unscrew. We've had some that did just that. Of course hot dipped galvanized are much less likely to do so. Finally, I might have missed it but I did not see the disclaimer about "this is not a how to..." as you did not wear your fall-arrest in the bucket. Yes, I know I'm being picky, and I climb towers so I really pay attention to that stuff but for the folks that think it is alright to skip that safety stuff you might want to tell them the proper way. Always great videos and I love your commentary. I just can't do that well in my videos.
Coming together Mike, but it looks a little top heavy, hope it doesn’t capsize. 😂😆😄😊
Good morning captain 😊
Daylight savings time year round !
The decks will look good with white picket railings kinda like the way old paddle wheelers are or even brown or what ever color tickles your fancy.
Awesome work 👏
👍🏻👍🏻because one is just never enough for the Captain
How true...I always give a couple as well 👍👍👍🍻
Hey Mike your missing a window , hey Mike where’s the window ?
Hey Mike what happened to that window that’s missing? 😁
Heck someone gotta rag ya sometimes lol
At first, I thought you was gonna wedgie the ladder on the bottom of the roof. I was like noooooo, your gonna have a series fall, lol. Then I seen you had it rested on the 2x4 underneath. 😂
Captain, this is the Dreamboat with that You Fly in the Sky. 🌈
I was asking bout this boat a few days ago.. Goad to see it
Hey, mike...woods cruise, b good......AUS viewer
Ahoy, their Captain.....Hopefully you can find an easy way to wrangle in those large sheet steel pieces. She's looking good! 👍😁
You are an inspiration!!
Totally understand about the anchors. Have you ever seen the Titen HD concrete screw anchors. They are just a bigger version of Tapcon screws but are way stronger than wedge bolts and they are easily removable. I changed over to them when I was worked industrial maintenance in factories. So much stronger and easier to use then other type of anchors. But each anchor has their place.
mike im impprest with you work its taking shape every time you make a new film 😎👌 as its a steam ship how do,s SS TREE TOPS
Mike, after 3 years of calling it the TH-cam Yacht, it's still going to be that no matter what you name it. Lol
Captain the TH-cam rental is coming along nicely 😊😊 Is the Lieutenant going to be in charge of house keeping ?😊😊
You are a brave man to be on that ladder with nobody to help you
Great job
Hope those long 4x4s stay straight as they weather
hey captain its a beauty already... how about calling her 'kleemans wheel'... seeing as she's a sternwheeler... or... 'pond view wheel' ??? .. p.s. i'm gonna be thinking of names all day now... haa everythings fine... much love xxc
