      Hello sir,
      Thanks for the information and the detail you've given me or you are giving us about your scooter the Segway ninebot Max. I have also received my segway ninebot Max scooter today. This is my fourth scooter but it's also the most expensive scooter I have bought so far from Amazon. The previous scooters where cheap and t disappointing actually. I didn't ride them for very long time the first one was a Jetson it was between $250 300 there I don't know it was fine but it was very weak the rear fender broke when I hit a bump and I returned it. The other two were bad, I returned them and I was refunded my money now let me see this one I believe this one is much better and according to what I have had from basically TH-cam within for that price because I bought it about $747.00 ,852 with taxes. Thanks you. Taddeo Mugagga from Durham, NC

Trying to go up in eco mode is close to impossible, going up in standard mode is not that great. Going up in sport mode is ok, if it's a super hill, you need to go side to side. I enjoy mine too.
    Have close to 500 km now. It’s perfect as my commute to work (9 km) so I often leave my car home now
    Here in Belgium it’s capped at 25kph (by law I believe)
    One downside I have is that when driving in the dark using the front light, the speed is slower unless I first accelerate and then turn in the light. I don’t know if anyone else has had this issue.
    Otherwise it keeps its speed until you go below like 2 bars maybe

    I have the ninebot max too bro, i have almost 1000 miles on that thing already if not pretty close to it.
    It's smooth, the range is incredible no complaints on that department, only thing is i got a flat front tire after about 4 months of use. Replacing it tomorrow,
    The versatility of this commuting tool is great, you could uber eats, go from train station to anywhere, for fun, sight seeing, beach etc(battery last slightly less when used in hot days) its a rough 30+ mile radius on a full charge (and it's fast charge, 6 hours) the plus is IF you are 200lbs or below in weight. The front light is bright at night. I love this scooter so far. I don't see how ANY scooter could maintain it's top speed with a drained battery.
    watts is volts x amps. As the battery drains, volts go down, thus watts go down.

      Yup, the simple P=IV equation. It mentions it on the Ninebot website as well stating "18.6 mph Top Speed *Top speed may be impacted by battery level, environmental temperature and available traction.” But I did get a few comments saying it doesn't slow down as battery decreases so I just mentioned in my review that mine specifically does.

    If you have a 1st generation Ninebot Max G30, then there is a reported issue with the motor not going to full speed when battery is below 50%. The 2nd generation Ninebot Max G30 does not have that issue until the battery reaches around 15% of power remaining. You can tel the difference between the two generations by the serial number on the motor/rear wheel hub, if the SN start with a 6 then it is 1st generation, if the SN starts with a 9 then it is a 2nd generation MaxG30. And I got lucky by finding a small shop that replaces and fixes just about everything. Solid tires replacement and tires for $200. Rear fender replacement and work $50. 2 months ago I replaced the the folding mechanism and pole cause it got wobbly and felt like it was gonna get worse. I agreed with all your pros and cons except the weight and locking mechanism complaint. The locking mechanism was never meant to prevent theft, just make it unusable when stolen so they can't zip off with it. A good thick square chain or U lock is CRUCIAL with this scooter.
    The weight isn't too heavy, it's not light either. It's in the middle of "hefty, but liftable" if you're decently built. If you're a kid or haven't lifted in years, then it's going to be a pain to haul around. You can't balance range and weight either, most of the long-range scooters either have hotswappable batteries or a ton of bulk. I seen 70 and 80lb scooters, now that's some bulk. 40lb is a fair weight, especially for the expectation of 40+ miles.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I had stairs in mind for the weight but you're right, it's not too heavy considering it's range. Yes a u lock is crucial.

    Hello. I have had this scooter since december 2019. I was in need of a smartphone holder for my Max G30 so I thought why won't I just buy a Segway original smartphone holder? So what I did was buy an original Segway smartphone holder but after using it for 6 months, this holder SUCKS! I was driving around with my kickscooter many times and a few times driving through street gutters and other bumps in the road made my smartphone come loose and end up hitting the tarmac. Luckily my iPhone has an outstanding protection case which absorbed the impact very well.
    To make a long story short, what smartphone holder are you using, does it hold your phone well at higher speeds?

      You don't need to use bluetooth or have your phone on to use the scooter. The app becomes optional after one time setup. Therefore it doesn't matter if your phone is off or on, the app is there to "lock" the device or give you stats like battery percentage, etc.

      @landpet  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      The G30LP is the newer, smaller, lighter, lower range version of the MAX, the G30LP also requires the power brick (ac/dc converter) as a charger (which I'm sure it comes with) but it's a little less convenient for travel if that's relevant. For comfort, the original MAX is better (the one I have) cause it has a larger deck. If range isn't as important and the deck size is a little smaller doesn't bother you, then get the G30LP otherwise go with the Max. If you go up a lot of stairs or need something smaller (a few inches smaller than the original MAX) to fit in a trunk then go with the G30LP.

    which one would be easier to get replacement repair parts for and mods, ninebot max or m365 pro?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know ninebot max hasn't had the best availability of parts. I know it's only going to get better with time as with all other things. I can't speak to the availability of parts the m365 pro but doing a quick search does show parts. As far as mods, there are options for both for cfw depending on what you're looking to do.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @bootnsoot I doubt they are easy to replace, I see a non inflatable option for 10 dollars. I should've mentioned that in my video, I was just thinking the yellow glue inside the tire will help make it last long against punctures. Hoping it the tread will last a year or two without replacing the tires :) but that is me being optimistic.

    How's the shock absorber on this one? I suffering from two herniated disc, and I'm very much in need of a standing vehicle that gives me as little shock as possible. I'm even considering a suspension scooter like Zero 10X, and Inokim Ox.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that. This might not be the best option for you. It's fairly smooth on smooth roads but can get shaky, bending your knees always helps. I just got the Inmotiom L9 which has shocks and I'm going to do some more range tests with that, that one seems softer but still requires knee bending. The thing is that even with shocks they still need to be on the stiff side so you can get a controllable ride (non wobbly).

      These two are really commuter scooters that are good for the price, especially the Ninebot MAX. Those are going to be more comfortable because of the wider deck, the suspension and the wider handle bars which really helps with balance. I was at one point considering the Zero 10X but the one I would choose with the hydraulic brakes costing over 2K, I'm like I don't need it for the mainly short trips I use these things for. If you could go back to the moment your purchased this MAX, would you still buy it or go for something LIGHTER with some sort of SUSPENSION? I was seriously considering buying the MAX but luckily I met a cool guy in the subway with an e-scooter with DIY mods on it...some brand I never heard or seen but it is nice. I asked him about it and he advised me to get something LIGHT and put a SEAT on it. He drilled a NINEBOT seat post on the board and it's very comfy has a spring too.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question, if I could go back in time, yes I would still buy this scooter. I wanted something with some range. While I want the scooter to be lighter, I would also say it's not ridiculously heavy. I considered the fact that I'm really not going to be carrying it all that often. I only lift when going upstairs or loading/unloading from my car if I'm taking it elsewhere to ride. I also like the placement of the battery, makes the scooter feel more naturally balanced. It would be nicer with shocks but the 10" pnuematic tires help, if you keep your knees bent then you will be golden. I did numerous range tests that I've posted. All my range tests have been done almost non-stop (other than the red-lights and a 2 minute break here and there). Riding the scooter for more than 3 hours straight and no issues, that also says there's durability since I'm around 200 lbs (~91 kg) with all my gear.
      Prior to the MAX, I heavily considered the M365 and the ES4 but I just couldn't get it, I felt like while they both seem good, there were some things that were lacking. Now if you check Amazon, the MAX has lots of reviews and they're mostly positive. It has higher ratings compared to the other two I considered.
      At the end of the day, it really depends on the person and their circumstance. If you're going to be carrying it 8 flights of stairs, or literally carrying it everywhere, then yes weight should be heavily considered. If you don't need the range, then that's fine as well. If you want to get a scooter with less range and shocks, that's also an option. I got a ton of range questions on this scooter hence I did various range tests, so I would assume most people that like this scooter have range in mind.

It will be an interesting test between the two. I ordered that one as well, will be doing a few tests against my MAX, in addition to some range tests, etc.. Can you move the brake lever, to the right handle bar?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just took a look as I have not tried it. It looks possible, there are two wires going to the brake lever, one from the outside and from inside the frame. There are a lot of screws that you can take off so it looks possible. A few things to keep in mind, if you plan on using the same brake lever than you will flip it upside down so the screws will be sticking up. Another thing is, you will most likely have to move the clip that's used to latch on to the rear fender when it's folded. Luckily both sides of the handle bar have cut-outs so doesn't look like you will need to drill anything to take out the inside wire (inside the frame) of the brake lever.

    Funny you mentioned the top speed issue again. I do wonder why mine can’t maintain its top speed beyond the first bar and the drops more and more. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Again a few people on this video mentioned maintaining full speed. I’m 80kg, running custom firmware with my region changed to US.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Gara Von Hoiwkenzoiber said something that made the most sense. It's a simple equation of P (watts) = I(amps) * V(volts), as battery drains, the volts drain and therefore wattage is decreased. It also says this on the Ninebot site: "18.6 mph Top Speed *Top speed may be impacted by battery level, environmental temperature and available traction.”

    • @OutdoorsIQ
      @OutdoorsIQ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see what your saying. Basically the volt’s will inevitably be lower the more the battery drains. Though I think it’s not that simple with something this high-tech. 🤔 While the is Max rated at 551Wh, you can draw more then 551 watts from the battery pack. For example you can draw double the watts for half the time (1100 watts for 30 min). Most lithium batteries handle more than their rated capacity in current draw. Panasonic cells for example can handle around 3x their rated capacity (3C). What it comes comes down to how well the scooter regulates the voltage sag. I think the max operates in 1 of 3 ways. A) Regulated voltage is delivered to the motor. B) The voltage delivered to the motor fluctuates with battery drain (unregulated). C) Regulated voltage is delivered to the motor, though the controller has been programmed to reduce top speed to increase range.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OutdoorsIQ Yup, something along those lines. What I do know is that more people say that speed decreases vs people that say it doesn't. Weight must play a factor as well. Either way for the price, it's truly a great scooter.

      @landpet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're carrying it a flight of stairs all the time, just know it definitely is on the heavier side. As far as commuter scooter, thing thing is awesome for the price. I did a whole bunch of range tests and averaged around ~28 miles (45km) weighing in around 200lbs with my gear. It feels well balanced and as far as stress tests, all my range tests were basically non-stop ridings (other than the red lights) and it did just fine. Yes, I really like this scooter. For longer rides (> 1 hour), I recommend bending your knees.
      I wish ninebot gave me a discount code, I've done several videos on this ninebot max and have had since their Indiegogo days. Doesn't hurt for me to ask them. They are a huge company so don't know if they'll care to give me one and the scooter is selling itself. I'll let you know either way.
