Can’t wait to see what Sage comes up with the design and fonts for my boys’ names on the end plates! I also can’t wait to get it all installed and tuned. As an F-150 owner, I absolutely love seeing this kind of content! Keep up the great work! Question for you guys as I'm currently working on my own truck. With such high wattage, do you guys do the big 3 on these trucks? Currently running 1500wrms and hoping to run higher in the future.

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thanks!! We appreciate it! It really comes down to the purpose of the build. Our customers are typically driving, listening to normal music and we are not wasting extra electricity from improper gain setups. So our systems are very efficient at delivering a insane amount of concert level sound without much waste.
      If you are planning on sitting still, playing heavy bass tracks for long periods of time and do not have the tools+experience tuning the electronics, naturally you will experience waste and electrical problems.
      For most consumers, it’s a great idea to do a big 3. For us, we allocate our customers $$$ only when it is needed, so not to waste $$$ that could be invested elsewhere to improve the overall performance.

    Amazing video.. what are your experience on the overall vibrations and rattles after these F150 sound system upgrades. I know for sure these F150 are known for having interior plastic noise from just driving. I can only imagine them getting worse after an upgrade like this. Even after sound treating the entire vehicle and some friends going double layer on the door frames and door panels they still cant get rid of rattles and vibrations. Wonder if this is just something every person that does sound upgrades have to live with, I heard some cars like higher end Mercedes and Lexus are better at this because they come very well insulated and with better parts( less plastic) from factory.

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Using the correct sound treatment methods along with the correct amount will resolve those issues. We made a video that goes through how to properly sound treat these trucks, you can check it out here:

    Anyway I could get you to send me that base tune? I have a little different set up but same DSP, it'd be nice to have a starting point for my tune.

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn’t work like that, but I recommend finding someone who can tune your system with the gear that you have. A lot goes into the the tune, even outside of the DSP. Type of sound treatment, amount of sound treatment, block off plates, angles of speakers, etc….

    Nice builds as always. What were the differences between front firing and down firing subs?

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  ปีที่แล้ว

      The downfire out performs the front fire due to the coupling of the vent/port. We spent many months on this change and we no longer offer the front fire option due to performance differences. In a perfect world, rear fire is the best but requires a seat lift and someone who really understands acoustics to make this happen.

    Curious to know why the epicenter was added to the other Raptor. Great job as always.

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Type of music the customer listens too.. Some music uses real instruments, so you will not have any subwoofer bass because…..it’s not there. So the Epicenter takes Mid-Bass (drums,etc) and processes it to play in the subwoofer range, so now you have bass on those songs. But as you could imagine, this is a manipulation of the original recording and it’s rarely needed for 99% of customers. And of course if the song has subwoofer bass already, the epicenter needs to be turned off.

    Question what is the blue and grey box used for on the amp rack is it for the factory navigation system and cameras

      It allows you to retain the factory stereo, but interface properly into the B&O systems. Here is the link:

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nav-TV for a seamless factory stereo integration
      Epicenter for natural music that does not have bass
      DSP to tune the system/speaker locations for the truck
      These are three different items that do three totally different things. Think of them as ingredients and in a system this level, you need more than typical “table salt” to make it amazing

    What's your opinion comparing the performance with Focals you put in the Raptor vs The GB60/GB40/GB10 Audiofrog 3 Way componenets?

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have more experience with the Focal lineup and know their capabilities. This allows us to push the envelope and deliver stereo systems that go beyond what most thought was possible. Plenty of good gear out there, just like ingredients. But it's up to the chef to bring everything together and that's what we do.

    Looks good!! How do you run better wire to the front door speakers? Getting through the boot is difficult.

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matt, since we have converted our DC power (before amplifier) to AC current (after amplifier), there is no reason to upgrade the factory wiring. It can handle in excess of 800wrms of power with zero issues. Crazy I know, but this is a common question we get, but people are thinking it is similar current flow as their amplifier power cable kit. AC current = Higher Voltage, less amperage = Small gauge wire. Same as your home wall socket :)
      So to connect to the factory wires, we use the Pac-Audio APH-FD02 on the factory B&O systems along with the Nav-TV Zen. Here is the link:

    The acrylic pieces y’all made for the focal mids & tweeters, do y’all sell those?

    • @SoundsGoodStereo
      @SoundsGoodStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mike,
      So adding sound treatment to the block off plates will help marginally, but the problem is it's HDPE (same material as super glue containers). So nothing likes to stick to it, atleast not for a long time. So we just sourced the best, most rigid HDPE we could find to prevent us from having to do so.
      On the acrylic pieces, we can make those for you. Just send us a email with your speaker details and car and we will come up with a price for you.

      My brother got a sound system on his 2020 raptor and he had a lot of issues with his build. It could have been from lack of experience from the guys at the shop he went to but he was wanting to use open show speakers on his doors and a set of bullet tweeters and a pair of 8” subs but he was told from the guys at the shop that due to the fact that his truck is aluminum he’s not able to go too big on wattage for his build. He had to settle for a more moderate build.

I’m really wanting to go full open show for my mids and go sundown on my subs but I’m afraid that my truck won’t be able to pull all that power. I would be using quality amps that will be able to sustain all those components but would I run into any issues with my truck?

    What's the output on the 6.5 subs

      It's impressive, but it's not so much the subwoofers but rather the utilization of the airspace of the enclosure. That's what delivers performance, not the size of the woofer alone.
