I just need Albania, Czech Republic, Israel and Switzerland to go through. And preferably Austria as well. So I fear most for Switzerland, since everyone seems to think that they won't make it. I'm pretty sure Israel and Czech Republic will make it through because they're fun and radio friendly and they can perform live. Albania's vocals are out of this world so I really hope that he'll manage to pull in some votes by belting out some high notes. And Austria is a Symphonix song, which all have had crazy good results in the past. And he can really sing, so I'm pretty confident about him making it through as well.

I sympathise with you guys - it's virtually impossible to call until we see the presentations but I disagree that FYR Macedonia, Austria, Belgium and Cyprus are definite qualifiers - I think they are all borderline. My predictions, in qualifying order: 1. Israel, 2. Bulgaria, 3. Czech Republic, 4. Estonia, 5. Finland, 6.Belarus, 7. Armenia, 8. Greece, 9. Albania, 10.Cyprus. But Austria, Belgium, Azerbaijan or Lithuania might take a spot.
Azerbaijan and Belarus are promoting their songs so hard in the Eastern countries.
Fans are really underestimating them so I wouldn't so shocked if they qualify.

I think places 9-14 will have a very small gap; Armenia, Finland, Belarus will be very close to qualifying and I think writing off Croatia isn't wise too. Albania just doesn't appeal to a wide audience despite his impeccable vocals. FYR Macedonia is polarizing and we must see if they'll get it with staging (personally I didn't immediately like it on first listen).
Iceland is 100% out, Ireland most definitely too. Switzerland I dont see it very possible.
Even Estonia and Belgium may shockingly not make it if something's off with their performance. The only ones I'm almost certain about is Israel Bulgaria Greece Cyprus and Czech Republic.
I am also prepared for the worst scenarios in SF1.

I don’t think all of my qualifiers will get through, but it is my top 10 of all of the songs in semi-final 1.
This may be one of the most competitive Semi Finals I have ever seen. There are so many quality entries and even songs people are dismissing could make it over some fan favourites. Here are my thoughts:
01 Azerbaijan - I really like the song but opening the show may be a bit of a problem for them, especially as they have three up-beat female songs coming later in the show. I think they are definitely in contention to qualify but Azerbaijan's qualification record is definitely under threat.
02 Iceland - I love Ari, he is amazing and although the song is a guilty pleasure for me its quite obvious this is going nowhere. I think this is fighting an uphill battle to not come last...
03 Albania - Eugent is an excellent singer and I think there is a chance he could make it but being third in the running order may really hurt him when it comes to televotes. I think It will be close but Albania may miss out this year.
04 Belgium - Despite being a fan favourite I don't even think Belgium is completely safe this year. Her performance at Israel calling was poor to say the least. Yes she did improve in Amsterdam but who knows what is going to happen on the night. I do think she will probably get through though.
05 Czech Republic - If Mikolas Josef isn't a finalist there is something very wrong. This definitely deserves to be in the final.I think he is going to pop in between Belgium and Lithuania and I cannot see him staying in the semi final.
06 Lithuania - This is the only real tender ballad in the first half. A lot of the songs here are very up-beat and in your face so this could be a really refreshing three minutes for viewers. I definitely wouldn't count Lithuania out this year. I think they are smack on the border.
07 Israel - I will get hate for this but I think there is a chance Israel may not make it. The fans of Eurovision love it and it may do fairly well on the televote but will juries respond to this? I don't know. They haven't rated weird and wacky very highly in the past and Israel traditionally struggles to get televote support. I think it's more likely that they will make it but I think fans of the song need to know that Israel isn't 100% certain by any means...
08 Belarus - Belarus were killed by Bjorkman. This running order prediction has literally thrown away any chance Belarus had. Granted they may surprise with epic staging but between three of the big favourites to win the whole thing I think they are on a sinking ship.
09 Estonia - Like William I have had some doubts over Estonia. The Eesti Laul performance was magical and a worthy finalist, but the song on it's own I find rather bland. If they aren't able to get the funding needed they could crash out. However I am leaning more towards this qualifying than not.
10 Bulgaria - This is one of the only songs in this semi final I will say are definitely through. Bones is an excellent song and the five performers have come together cohesively. I really think this is the front runner to win the whole thing at this stage.
11 FYR Macedonia - I like Lost and Found but I find myself forgetting about it when I think about qualifiers for this semi final. I wouldn't mind seeing this in the final but to be honest I think it's quite unlikely... Plus some people may be put off by the mix of genre's like they were with Agnete for Norway in 2016.
12 Croatia - As great as Franka is I don't think there is much hope for Croatia. The song just doesn't stand out in this bloodbath. I feel this is probably heading for bottom 3 in the semi if i'm completely honest.
13 Austria - I think Austria qualifying is very likely. Cesar is an experienced live performer and juries will not be able to ignore his voice. Also, Nobody but You is a very popular song and I feel he will get the televote support needed to qualify.
14 Greece - I genuinely worry about Greece. I think they are right on the border this year. I think the song will appeal to countries like Cyprus and Albania but will the western voters like Ireland, The UK, Switzerland, Iceland be inclined to vote for a song like that... I don't know. Also, having not heard it live and the only live performance she has done of it was completely mimed I do worry about her live performance as well.
15 Finland - I'll get hate for this but I really don't think Finland is going to qualify. Saara is best in a simple setting but with someone like Brian Friedman managing the staging we know that is not going to happen. There will be so much going on and I feel Saara will suffer for that. If the performance is a mess I honestly can't see the juries rating her very high at all.
16 Armenia - Armenia is a probable qualifier for me. Sevak is a professional performer who can bring the house down vocally. This will appeal to the jury and the Armenian disapora will definitely help him televote wise. I think there is a chance with a poor live performance he could slip through the net but I would be surprised if he wasn't announced as one of the qualifiers.
17 Switzerland - As much as I love Switzerland's song, they just seem to be fading into the background again... Unfortunately I see another non-qualification heading Switzerland's way. It's a shame because if they were in the second semi final they probably would go through.
18 Ireland - I think people are going to be surprised by Ireland I really do... Like Lithuania this will be a really excellent pallet cleanser in the group of intense songs in the second half of this semi final. I also think juries will definitely be attracted to Ryan's excellent voice. I also think they could benefit from the simple stage Portugal are going for. It's not a certain qualifier by any means but I like Lithuania, I wouldn't count Ireland out.
19 Cyprus - As we saw last year, just because a song is on last doesn't mean it's definitely going through. I personally feel like Cyprus is a borderline qualifier. It all depends on the live performance because if her vocals are poor I can't see the juries getting behind her. Plus with so many other up-beat female numbers in this semi final they may end up eating into each others votes.

The selection was pretty bad- the only ones I liked were 'You' and 'Crazy'
