Deban does this every year - he lets personal preference totally win out over logic - of COURSE Croatia are going through, it’s one of the most crazy, televote-friendly entries this year; especially in a year following the pandemic, in a war, people are gonna eat the fun UP. Lest we forget Moldova took that position last year, the fun one - Deban said there was no way it was getting through and it came SECOND in the televote in the final 🤷♀️ He gives William such a hard time for saying “this isn’t a list of preferences, this is a list of predictions” but that is the point of these videos and it’s honest. William also usually gets a lot more correct than Deban does year on year lmao so…I still think Malta and Latvia will be out but just like William it’s not that I don’t like them, I just don’t think they’ll catch the attention they will need in a pure televote semi.

Vesna may be a surprise NQ, their song pops because of a story-narrating music video which has lots of sets, dancers and costumes. The studio is also so much different from their lives. I believe their stage performance will not match up to the expectations set by music video, and their vocals won’t be as good, also no more room for dancers. Doubting their qualification chances for past month.

I agree with these entire predictions. When it comes to Czechia, the live performance will make or brake their chances, despite the MV version being really good. The rest of the In I dont even need to debate, they will pass, even Norway which I dont really like will pass cause it has an audience that will vote for it. The out gang is quite forgettable yes. Croatia might get sympathy from the Eurovision audience, but not from the normie audience thats watching it for the first time. Even the Eurovision crowd needed the song to grow for them and even now its not on peoples top lists. I kinda fancy Portugal more than Switzerland if I had to choose.

Why is Deban still not understanding the difference between prediction and wish list? 😆 Every year he calls out William for not predicting his favourite songs as qualifyers. But just because you love a song, doesn’t mean you think others will as well. That’s just not the same. 😅 I really love Deban and William together in videos. Oh, I appreciate William is one of the very few vloggers who admitted Israel's song is made for the staging. I think he knows a bit more about their plans, Noa Kirel is outstanding, you'll see!! Regarding Netherlands and Moldova, I don't think it's a good idea to underestimate these countries again, they are very good staging wise, especially Moldova. In other words, I want to make my own qualifiers prediction, that's it: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Israel, Moldova, Croatia, Portugal, Serbia, Czechia and I would say either Netherlands or Switzerland, I think one of these ballads will go through, cause there will also be people who will vote for slower songs. Regarding Malta and Latvia, uh... I don' think their songs are powerful or memorable enough to pass, but I want to say, for me, Czechia and Serbia aren't 100% certain qualifiers, I don't think they sound as good live as other entries, but they clearly have more chances than Malta and Latvia. Ireland and Azerbaijan are the weakest songs in this semi, again, FOR ME. Great video, can't wait for the rehearsals!
Today I listened to an interview with Latvian guys from Sudden Lights and now I just found out that only the voice is heard live on the Eurovision stage. It's a shame for such a big event as Eurovision and it's definitely not good for the Latvian band. The band's guitarists laughed at having to perform as dancers. Latvia No.1 They are artists worthy of the world's biggest rock stages.
That has always been the case in Eurovision. They should not have participated if they didn't like that. It is impossible to get everything ready and plugged in in such a short time between the songs.

I think the absence of juries in semifinals is overall good for the same reasons you said but I also fear that songs that are tailored to catch the public's attention will now pass. Israel is one such example, that song is clearly made to embody the sort of pop music that Eurovision loves. Melody that gets stuck in your head, easy to sing along to and a random dance break.
It's so annoying that Deban can't understand the difference between "what do YOU want" and "what do you think will happen". William is not running for office and not trying to suck up to anyone - he just understands the difference between these two questions.
I used to literally always agree with Deban up until 2020. I really don't get why he always makes folk music out to be low-quality and not deserving to go through. You don't have to like it to RESPECT it. and also, William is absolutely right when he says "it's a prediction not a wishlist", Deban constantly gives William slack for beating around the bush and praising everyone, when in reality he's just respecting the songs even if he doesn't like them, and he's being truthful when he says he likes a song but thinks it has low chances of going through. The contest is changing, there's a lot more variety and ever since this shift happened Deban and other TH-camrs really started to fall off for me personally.

A weak year?? Hm, I have almost all the songs on my playlists lol. I must have a weak music taste then. My certain qualifiers prediction is: Finland, Sweden, Czechia, MOLDOVA, CROATIA, Serbia, Norway, Portugal and either Israel or Latvia. Israel is a ? for me because I think it may be a shock NQ. The aggressive YOU WANNA SEE ME DANCE? is putting a lot of people on social media off and unless she brings some ground breaking dance moves live, I see many people find that enough to not vote for it. Also centaur =/= unicorn. Latvia is a maybe because it's a pretty slow grower. At the start it sounds just too boring and plain, it doesn't stand out at all (as William says) and I just think people forget about it as soon it's over, especially since they perform between Portugal and Serbia! Certain NQ in my prediction are Malta, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Netherlands. Same problem as Latvia, they dont' stand out at all and they don't even have the "slow grower" thing going on as Latvia. I don't think they appeal to many people but I may be wrong and some might surprise qualify (Eurovision fans loves saxophones so maybe Malta will come with a surprise!) My prediction is also my preferences and I'm terribly sorry Malta, Ireland, Azerbaijan and the Netherlands but your songs this year do nothing for me. :/

Vesna may be a surprise NQ, their song pops because of a story-narrating music video which has lots of sets, dancers and costumes. The studio is also so much different from their lives. I believe their stage performance will not match up to the expectations set by music video, and their vocals won’t be as good, also no more room for dancers. I agree with these entire predictions. When it comes to Czechia, the live performance will make or brake their chances, despite the MV version being really good. The rest of the In I dont even need to debate, they will pass, even Norway which I dont really like will pass cause it has an audience that will vote for it. The out gang is quite forgettable yes. Croatia might get sympathy from the Eurovision audience, but not from the normie audience thats watching it for the first time. Even the Eurovision crowd needed the song to grow for them and even now its not on peoples top lists. I kinda fancy Portugal more than Switzerland if I had to choose.

Regarding Netherlands and Moldova, I don't think it's a good idea to underestimate these countries again, they are very good staging wise, especially Moldova.
In other words, I want to make my own qualifiers prediction, that's it: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Israel, Moldova, Croatia, Portugal, Serbia, Czechia and I would say either Netherlands or Switzerland, I think one of these ballads will go through, cause there will also be people who will vote for slower songs.
Regarding Malta and Latvia, uh... I don' think their songs are powerful or memorable enough to pass, but I want to say, for me, Czechia and Serbia aren't 100% certain qualifiers, I don't think they sound as good live as other entries, but they clearly have more chances than Malta and Latvia. Ireland and Azerbaijan are the weakest songs in this semi, again, FOR ME.

Today I listened to an interview with Latvian guys from Sudden Lights and now I just found out that only the voice is heard live on the Eurovision stage. It's a shame for such a big event as Eurovision and it's definitely not good for the Latvian band. The band's guitarists laughed at having to perform as dancers. Latvia No.1 They are artists worthy of the world's biggest rock stages.
That has always been the case in Eurovision. They should not have participated if they didn't like that. It is impossible to get everything ready and plugged in in such a short time between the songs.

I think the absence of juries in semifinals is overall good for the same reasons you said but I also fear that songs that are tailored to catch the public's attention will now pass. Israel is one such example, that song is clearly made to embody the sort of pop music that Eurovision loves. Melody that gets stuck in your head, easy to sing along to and a random dance break.

I used to literally always agree with Deban up until 2020. I really don't get why he always makes folk music out to be low-quality and not deserving to go through. You don't have to like it to RESPECT it. and also, William is absolutely right when he says "it's a prediction not a wishlist", Deban constantly gives William slack for beating around the bush and praising everyone, when in reality he's just respecting the songs even if he doesn't like them, and he's being truthful when he says he likes a song but thinks it has low chances of going through. The contest is changing, there's a lot more variety and ever since this shift happened Deban and other TH-camrs really started to fall off for me personally.

A weak year?? Hm, I have almost all the songs on my playlists lol. I must have a weak music taste then. My certain qualifiers prediction is: Finland, Sweden, Czechia, MOLDOVA, CROATIA, Serbia, Norway, Portugal and either Israel or Latvia. Israel is a ? for me because I think it may be a shock NQ. The aggressive YOU WANNA SEE ME DANCE? is putting a lot of people on social media off and unless she brings some ground breaking dance moves live, I see many people find that enough to not vote for it. Also centaur =/= unicorn. Latvia is a maybe because it's a pretty slow grower. At the start it sounds just too boring and plain, it doesn't stand out at all (as William says) and I just think people forget about it as soon it's over, especially since they perform between Portugal and Serbia! Certain NQ in my prediction are Malta, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Netherlands. Same problem as Latvia, they dont' stand out at all and they don't even have the "slow grower" thing going on as Latvia. I don't think they appeal to many people but I may be wrong and some might surprise qualify (Eurovision fans loves saxophones so maybe Malta will come with a surprise!)
