I actually purchased that Caulaelia about a month ago at an orchid show. I got it at a discount as most blooms were already on their way out. As for the smell, for me it is rather heavy, powdery, maybe a bit creamy as well. Definitely one of a kind and I could still smell it from a distance, despite other fragrant orchids being in bloom. The flowers also change color as they age - they get this nice salmon pink tinge to it.
Hey Danni in Australia we wouldn't give dendrobium kingianum hybrids a dry rest as you would a Himalayan den. Their ancestors are not from the monsoonal tropics and they get cooler weather in winter but it still rains. I do try and keep them out of excessive rain. They do want sun in winter also.
Hey Danni! Thanks for the updates. I donât have any sarchochilis yet but I also drool of Mathewâs (helloplantlovers) sarchs. I also watch his other channel as well. Such great content.
Love the Cau. Snowflake! I had a the variety of Northland years ago. Sadly I lost it and am seeking it out. The fragrance is as you say, indescribable!
Your dendrobium kingianum hybrid doesnt need it dry when jts cool. In New Zealand (auckland at least) we grow them outside exposed to weather year round, we have wet winters and they dont skip a beat.
Sorry for teasing you about the appleblossom ð It did sell out quick but that is no suprise! I may divide mine come summer.. when is the move going to happen? Asking as what if someone (ð) were to send you orchids in mail come summer..
I live in Brisbane Queensland & my sarco wonât flower either. Our winter temps. can go down to 7 deg C but not for long. Also Den kingianums grow where they have wet cold winters & dry hot summers. I just cut back watering in winter & my den.kingianums grow like weeds.
Yep, pretty sure that a bunch of tolumnias are grown via seed, since they only take around 2 1/2 years to reach blooming size from pollination (according to the AOS website)
Appleblossom is no longer in stock at Luckeâs. I think they had close to a hundred but they were gone within a week or two. I myself got three. They were seedlings though not in an spectacular state but they were ok.
I bought a two steamed or ched ,one steam died,I cut it,the second one I cut it back just under the dieing part, it is just now starting to show any growth, it's in a good place shaded light, gets about a hour of light in the evening, checked the roots in good shape ! Growth is real slow, I'm in Oregon,so am I just in impatient?
hello, I have 4 mini phals and 1 is in bloom, 1 with buds (I dropped some water on the buds, hope that's not set back), and the 2 other well... hoping that they're doing good!
I think the Phalaenopsis japonica should also flower for if you put it outside, however I think 5 degree Celsius is the absolute minimum for this species
Please please please help me, I'm so sorry to bother you again but I have a big problem. I bought few packages of coco barks. Today I did see that rat has tor open the packages and there were lots of barks out of packaging, now I don't know that are they infected? It's hard to find good coco barks in my area and I don't know if I can use those barks or not. Can I use some sort of fungicide or I don't know some kind of pesticide on barks to make them safe to use
The "rich" scent for the Frosty, the fragrance/perfume videos will describe this aspect of the scent as "cloy" or "lingering"..... still waiting to get my hands on a iwanagara....ð
Hi, if weâre talking about species itâs because thatâs what their pollinators like :) if they are hybrids, just the way the genes âmixedâ ðĪ
Roses are the Queens of Flowers, Cactuses the Kings but Orchids are the Emperors of them all.
I feel the same way âĪ

Did I tell you my orchids actually bloomed after 2 years!!âĪ
Love you, MissOrchidGirl! Youâve helped me keep my orchids alive for about 2 1/2 years now!
Glad to hear! ðĨ°

Thanks to you I'm now an Orchid collector too lol. ð
I have a Cattleya Mizoguchi with Snowflake as its parent, so it makes me look forward to its fragrance when it blooms!

I save all my envy for this channel.

Oh wow, now I really want to buy a Tolumnia Big Bang! ðĨ° I hope I can buy one for my birthday on april!
Hey . I never seen you on the video. I'm used to just hear your voice. ð I'm so excited to put a face to the voice
i love these vids because I seek orchids mostly for their fragrance and you've recommended some great ones in the past

It was nice seeing your psychopsis in the background.

Itâs a gorgeous orchid (the first one you show)
The snowflake is the one Iâm referring to and that it has a strong fragrance is a huge bonus to me!
Appleblossom is no longer in stock at Luckeâs. I think they had close to a hundred but they were gone within a week or two. I myself got three. They were seedlings though not in an spectacular state but they were ok.
Love the cattleya Snowflake âFrostyâ. Iâve been searching for the Iwanagara Apple Blossom and canât find it anywhere!
Hi. That second orchid, from the flower shop, looks like it could have Phalaenopsis "Bronze Buddha" (which is fragrant), in it's parentage. ð

Hi Danny! The second scented Phal. looks like Phal. Brother Sara Gold. You made a video about it in 2016. Do you still have it?

Maybe try to wash with soap and dry in the sun?
I want to know where you can get the Awanagara, now called Jackfowlieara, because I can't find it in the UK.
The "rich" scent for the Frosty, the fragrance/perfume videos will describe this aspect of the scent as "cloy" or "lingering"..... still waiting to get my hands on a iwanagara....ð
How often do you think your tolumnia bloom a year?
Hello why isn't my leaves perky? I'm even growing my 2nd new leaf.
What type of orchid? Look the up the previous videos about the fragrant phal that Danny has, she explains dehydration well there
First one here!ðļ
ðSecond one here!
Why do some Phals smell sour? Or skunky? Not a pleasant fragrance

@@MissOrchidGirl So fascinating how they are all different!
