I watch train videos all the time and this one is hands down the best. Hearing the sound of the people on the train talking, having the stops announced really gives you a feeling that you are actually on the train. Seeing the town activity as you pass by, love seeing the train pulling into the stations and the beautiful crowds waiting to board. Please make more videos of this type and length. I listen to it when I sleep. It is truly a welcome relief from today’s world. Thank you for your outstanding work.
Just remember to bring a thermos flask with coffe, and a lunch hamper before you "get onboard". Then lean back in your recliner, and enjoy !!! 🤗 ☕🍽🌭🍎🍗🍟🍇🍩
@@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131I'll bring coffee, Is there restaurant on train serves drinks? Instead of saving money, packing my own lunch? Still I rather pack a good lunch than go hungry.
Seeing this video makes me realize that certain long haul trains should have video screens on the back of seats, like in airplanes, so riders can see the front view of the train. Simply beautiful views.
We're very interested in 'slow TV', no presenters, muzak or opinion, just an immersive tour with natural sounds and sights. Thanks for adding this really enjoyable one. I hope between us we can spread these kind of videos around a little. It's a great way to learn more about our world. look forward to seeing more from you.
Gosh I want to do this rail trip, the trains sounds ever smooth on running good tracks. The scenery is truly staggering in places. I adore. Thanks DIY Inspiration.
This is one of my dream vacations! Flying over to Oslo & just traveling around on the trains so I can see Europe🥰Me, my daughter & granddaughter💞We have a lot of Scandinavian in our ancestry which might explain why I have always wanted to visit that part of the world more than anywhere else (before knowing of my blood lines).
For a second there. I thought I was having a NDE! lol I'm following this video while on Google Earth and following the land marks. Interesting! This is WOW kind of beautiful! -Portland, Oregon
While in the U.S. Navy in 1969, our ship docked in Bergen, Norway. I rode this train route to Oslo, a wonderfully beautiful city. Ppl walked up and down the streets at 3: a.m. Lots of ppl were up and about shopping etc. Never saw that before. The train trip looks like it did back then. Awesome scenery!!!
I can't believe that this line is electrified for that great a distance, it took many years to electrify the line from the Jersey shore all the way to NYC, they used to have to switch to a diesel engine halfway through,
I took this trip in 2018... in the summer... it was a real treat... many great scenes... mountain lakes and beautiful blue streams and towering peaks... norway is so beautiful you just want to take a bike or car or anything and go everywhere
I cant get over how few level crossings there appears to be. All the road either go under or over the train tracks, regardless of how little traffic they may have. Never see that in North America.
Very nice video such beautiful country. But just a fyi type thing - most people use these train ride to relax and fall asleep so you might wanta axe the loud bell ding it makes when entering tunnels. ⚡ 😊
You are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Your next stop, the Twilight Zone! " All aboard"! The night train is the only means of travel in and out of the twilight zone. It is not so much a place as it is a time. For every passenger the experience is different. Tonight many will feel the need to sleep but before they do....the Night Train may have something special instore for it's passengers! "Excuse me....Mr. Conductor"? "What stop is up next"? " The town is called 'Anywheresville' mam". "What kind of name is that for a town..... I've never heard of it"! "It's everything and anything for everyone mam". " What do you mean by that"?! ....." Mam....if you get off at Anywheresville you can just make a wish upon stepping off the Night Train and it will be so". In this episode everyone on this train wants to just 😴 But imagine if you will, a place where you can grow up again. A place where you can change your life as you know it. Anything is now possible if you step off! But be warned..... there's no coming back. So if sleep is all you need then I suggest you close your eyes and by pass the next stop. This stop is a place that also exists in your dreams....or a Night Train going anywhere....in the twilight zone.
Wow - the Voss station has sure changed since this was made! Probably every place has changed, really, as have the trains. Cool to see the older, boxy styles. And if it was filmed in 2009, that was 2 years before the Hallingskeid tunnel burned! It's always a bit surreal during the seasonal changes, to have autumn or spring on either end of the Bergen-Oslo line and white winter up on the mountain. Sure is gorgous, though. I see, at the end, why the video appeared completely black in the tunnels. The camera clearly didn't do well with low light conditions. The Oslo Nat'l Theatre underground station is quite brightly lit. On camera, it appeared to be a dimly lit infra-red station. :D
The train trip from Oslo to Bergen is the by far most amazing journey of my life! Colourful houses, forests, lakes, waterfalls… The train trip from Oslo to Bergen takes 6.5 hours and each moment of the journey is extraordinary. All you need to do is looking out of the window and enjoy the magnificent view. Here is my experience: th-cam.com/video/mFuMkPur9_A/w-d-xo.html

Beautiful Video. I like the fact there was no graffiti or trash along the route. And i was looking for it. WHY can't America have Transportation like this of similar quality?
You can. There's no rule against traveling in land. Just bring a cover for you mouth. And take the covid test 72 hours before taking the trip, and when you get home.
On the contrary, I'm currently preparing for the GMAT/writing papers and I've gotten into a study strategy where I focus on the exam preparation while the train is moving and I take brief breaks when the pulls into stations, so the gong is a reminder to take breaks. But yeah it's a still bit to loud and aggressive.
@Stian Myrdal Laursen ; Being an American'; i was thinking the same thing. Suppose there is a Homeless Person on the Tracks; or an Animal? You would not see anything dangerous; because basically in those tunnels after leaving Bern; you're Blind.
Yes, no lights seems generally bad. What if there was a partial collapse in the tunnel? Sure you couldn't stop, but you could start slowing down at least. If something or someone is in the tunnel they could at least try and get off the tracks.
@@roadrules3671 Why would a homeless person be in a train tunnel? They would hear the train coming long before they'd see the lights due to corners, so unless you're specifically worried about deaf homeless people, and let's be honest, what are the odds of a deaf homeless person being in a train tunnel? Also, if you're deaf in Norway you might qualify for a disability pension, which means you wouldn't need to be homeless, since you'd basically be on a retirement salary. The train wouldn't be able to stop in time when you see an animal, so that wouldn't help anyone. @Kristian Oye There are sensors in the tunnel that will let you know if something has collapsed, so that doesn't require lights.
Video is taken out the rear of the train and run in reverse. You can see shadows of passengers leaving and entering on both sides at the Myrdal station.
