All the Living and the Dead sounds right up my alley!!! A lot of great reads in here 😊

Past non-fiction books I've read. Recent: A few books about Abe Lincoln. Audio book for Chris Broad's "Abroad in Japan."
I don't often read these books because at some point I just put the book down and not get back to it.
It's a "me problem". Other booktuber's I follow do have interesting reviews on the books they've read.
Great content. You even had a change of clothes for the other channel .

@@Tetsujin-28 I’m curious about Abroad in Japan since I’ve been watching Chris’ channel for years.
And different videos take more or less time to edit so I often have videos from different days posted on the same day. 😅

I'm not a huge non-fiction reader but I do occasionally pick one up. The most recent one I read was Roxanne Gay's Hunger which was a 5 star read. I enjoy non-fiction it's just the ones I go for are typically "heavier" reads so I space them out just to not overwhelm myself.

@@skylarweiss Just looked up Hunger and that’s definitely a “heavier” book. I read Brain on Fire by Susannah Catalan last year and that was a 5⭐️ for me. It’s heavier but, not too bad.

I think it’s so cool you buddy read with your brother!! On Getting Out of Bed sounds…interesting. 😅 Shocked to hear the author say one thing and then say don’t do that thing! The last nonfiction “book” I read was Embrace Your Size and that was two years ago 🙈🙈🙈

@@LauraAGrace I really love that I can read books alongside my dad and brother. It doesn’t happen often but, when it does, it’s some of the best reading experiences I’ve had.

And it’s okay not to read much non-fiction. Fiction is great!! 💕

Hmm, I read *On Getting Out of Bed* and didn't feel like it was contradictory at all. Also, I think it's worth keeping in mind that it is a Christian book, written by a Christian for other Christians, and published by a Christian company. Perhaps what you perceived as "contradiction" is what I perceived as nuance, and finding a balance.

    • @Maeve_Ever_Books
      @Maeve_Ever_Books  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@RachelB.BookReferences This is very true! As someone who is not Christian I’m sure there were many things that I didn’t understand or grasp the way a Christian would. That’s why books are so amazing. People can have completely different experiences with the same book and that’s beautiful. 💕

Lots of interesting titles. The one about depressions sounds infuriating though, how did that pass through publishing..?

I haven’t gotten into nonfiction that much yet, the one ones I’ve read this year is Sociopath by Patric Gagne (memoir) and The Wager by David Grann. Would like to incorporate more into my reading though. But then I want more of everything so 😂

I have a question. How do you find your Non-fiction to read? I have had success with most of the nonfiction I have read, but usually, the book just kinda falls into my lap. Trying to search the nonfiction in the store feels too overwhelming. Do you have any tips?

    • @Maeve_Ever_Books

@@Onceglassy Most of my non-fiction I just picked up when browsing my used bookstores and the rest were recommendations.
I think my only tips for finding good books for a specific topic would be Google. I’ve searched “best non-fiction about…” and found some really good ones that way as well.
