Another fun video, thanks. Way to stay flexible, I’m not afraid to bail if weather turns or the situation isn’t what you want. Even after investing all that energy to get there.
Yep...how can you enjoy something beautiful when your 100% miserable. Thank for watching...I enjoy sharing these with everyone and making memories for myself. Feel very fortunate even 1 person watches.
So many excellent shots in this one! Really got a feel for how steep some of those areas are! Pretty sure I wouldn't have stayed at that upper lake either!
Thanks man! Weird thing was there was really no established spots at the lower either. Where we stopped and had lunch a person could tent camp. However, no fire ring and getting wood would be a hall.
Looked like a rough hike. Cool to see the lakes. That waterfall was awesome! I've been chased out of couple lakes in the Cabinets by mosquitoes. Bug spray doesn't work with them. Thanks for sharing. Great video! Hike on!
Yeah...I'm not getting the miles on these trips, but I'm definitely putting in the effort. Have learned from a couple of hunters if inwould have continued up on the left side of the waterfall like I started out I would have found an elk trail. I, however, made the mistake of crossing back over to the right when I got up after the second waterfall.
gotta love the shades your dog is wearing - awesome stylin! :) amazing drone shots! the skeeters rule those mountains huh? :) love the falls! great hike!
Yeah he actually took to the shades pretty quickly. Got them for winter hiking, but figured it was a sunny day, why not have him wear eye protection. He ended up losing them on the final push to the upper lake, and I wasn't about to go look for them. So, I ordered him a new pair. The Skeeters were off the hook
OMG, those freakin' skeeters looked horrible. The waterfall was really nice.....Blitz looking stylish, but man when it's time to bale out of a place, it's time. You did the right thing, based on those bites on your arms. Thanks for sharing another good one, Jess!
We went up the drainage to Snowshoe Lake mid 2000's. The trail was extremely overgrown and the headwall below the lake was exciting. Snowshoe lake is way more of a lake than where you ended up. We camped and then Snoeshoe Peak the next day. We didn't have the mosquito problem though. I think I would've retreated as well.
Yeah you went into Snowshoe Lake not Snowshoe Lakes would be my guess...Snowshoe Lakes is on the Libby side and Snowshoe Lake is on the Bull Lake side of the Cabinets. I will be doing Snowshoe Lake soon....that should really confuse people. I could have hung out in a hammock with a mosquito net, but it would have been hell on Blitz with no protection.
@@hyoh-wu Oops...I meant to clearly articulate that I went up the other drainage that goes to the singular Snowshoe Lake. I hope you do go up that drainage as I haven't been there in almost 20 years and I'm excited to see what you find! It's an easy up to get to Snowshoe Peak and great views...assuming there is no smoke. Huge freaking assumption these days.
@wade2361 Yeah I have noticed that the trails don't seem to crowded this season..I'm assuming because all the covid campers are done. So, hopefully that will help with forest fire reduction.
Great video! I definitely won’t be heading up there anytime soon that looks rough. I’m doing snowshoe peak from Leigh lake this coming Sunday. Also be careful with the drone and wilderness boundary
Yeah your gonna be in for a long day. However, I heard it's awesome views from up there. Yep, I will not land or take off in the wilderness boundarie. Pretty much keep an eye on my ONx and make sure I'm not in it. However, I have seen some channels that blatantly disregard this.
@@hyoh-wu we’re staying at Leigh lake Sunday then doing the summit Monday morning. Yeah that’s what I do as well. It’s frustrating to see channels just not care at all. I’ve seen it a ton lately. Let’s go hiking soon!
@jordanlecount6117 OK let me know when. I have a 4 day trip in the pintlers next week. Then hit me up. We could possibly do Lake Osakis...Just know I'm pretty much in the woods all summer during the weekends...so u just let me know when.
Yeah I'm wondering if I had that crap last week....I was super tired and no energy. So didn't even go hike. Well get some rest and have some chicken soup with some Sriracha that cures just about everything.
Huh. Well, what can I say? Blitz has the coolest sunglasses for sure. The waterfall is nice. But I would hightail it out of there as well with all the mosquitoes.
Yeah...I was pretty bummed and upset. I was looking forward to getting some good footage of the sun going down and then of course having a fire and a sip of whisky. Very disappointed in the lake I mean Swamp Snowshoe. When I scoped out the lower lakes I didn't see any established camp sites there either.
Looks like you lost a couple of pounds, Jesse. Did the mosquitoes suck the life out of you? Nice drone vid as usual (Travis has taught you well, grasshopper); were you able to get your crashed drone repaired or did you have to bite the bullet?
I had drone insurance...but have since purchased the DJI mini 3.. it has obstacle avoidance. I keep losing and putting back on...then losing. I have definitely learned alot from Travis and other TH-camrs over the past few years and I have so much more to learn.
Awesome video.
Thank you! Glad I could share it with you!

Yeah...it would have been hell on Blitz and with no fire it would ha e just sucked....no pun intended.

Great video bud, thanks for taking us along... Sitting at home with COVID.. won't be making any content any time soon.. Good to live thru you...

Ya love that swamp. Cool water fall for sure. Everyone needs to check out the upper lake and be eaten alive.
Nothing like coming home and having your arm feel like brail.
